Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 287: Special
Flirting with another man in front of President Sinclair is one thing, but how could she dare to shake off his hand?
Joe couldn’t bear to watch. If the atmosphere weren’t so tense, she would have rushed up to remind Moira Young to avoid making a big mistake.
Just then, Julian Sinclair suddenly let out a cold laugh, "Moira Young, you’re quite something."
"Huh?" Moira was completely baffled. "Uncle, what do you mean by that?"
"Don’t you think he’s more important? Hmm?" Julian’s large hand gripped Moira’s delicate chin, and his words were dripping with bitterness, "Since you like him so much, why do you still stay by my side?" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Moira was shocked by his words and argued somewhat amusedly, "Julian, do you know what you’re saying?"
"Hah..." Julian seemed unwilling to say more. He shook off Moira harshly and walked away with long strides.
Moira stumbled backward as she was pushed away, losing her balance and almost falling to the ground. Aiden Webb quickly stepped forward and supported Moira’s slender waist, helping her regain her footing.
"Are you okay?" Aiden asked lightly.
Moira bit her lip and shook her head slightly, "I’m fine."
Physically, she was okay, but her heart was in agony.
She didn’t understand why Julian suddenly lost his temper and why he left her alone. He had promised that he would never leave her.
Why...
"Are you alright?" Aiden furrowed his brow slightly.
"I really am fine." Staring in the direction Julian had disappeared, Moira felt her nose tingle, nearly bursting into tears.
Aiden looked at her and didn’t think she seemed fine at all. He shook his head slightly but helplessly decided to take Moira back to the hotel first.
Joe didn’t dare say anything either, trailing behind the two, silently mourning for Moira. It seemed like Moira might have seriously offended President Sinclair this time. What if the next time he appeared, he broke up with her?
The thought made Joe’s face turn pale with fright.
If Moira lost favor, she would become a joke in the crew, and life would become difficult.
Lost in worry, she didn’t even notice she had followed Aiden and Moira to the fifth floor.
Moira’s suite was on the fourth floor, while Aiden’s room was on the fifth.
When she realized it, she was standing at Aiden’s door. Just as she was about to speak, the door closed in front of her.
"Oh my God, what’s going on?" Joe mumbled to herself, staring at the closed door.
Moira, distracted, ended up in Aiden’s room, sitting on the sofa and sipping the coffee Aiden made himself. Her eyes were vacant, filled with sadness and disappointment.
Suddenly, Aiden’s satisfied voice reached her ears, "Now your expression is right."
"Huh?" Moira, not understanding, looked up at Aiden with her big teary eyes, "What?"
"If you act with this expression in the afternoon scene, it will be more fitting," Aiden patiently explained.
Moira, not amused, shoved him slightly, "You’re still laughing at me at a time like this."
"Julian is very important to you?" Aiden carefully pondered before asking the question on his mind.
"Yes, very important." Moira’s eyes reddened, and as the beautiful memories of their time together flooded back, her lips curled slightly, "He is the most important person in my life."
More important than life itself.
Aiden said solemnly, "Can I hear your story?"
Moira looked at Aiden, hesitated for a few seconds, then gently nodded, "Hmm."
She had never told anyone about her and Julian, Aiden was the first.
She didn’t really understand why, but she always felt a sense of familiarity with Aiden, making her want to get closer to him, rely on him, and trust him.
To the point where she was willing to share her past with Julian with him.
Her story was long, and she recounted every detail from childhood to adulthood to Aiden. Though Aiden didn’t respond, he showed no signs of impatience, listening intently throughout.
As she spoke, Moira’s eyes filled with tears, and she choked, "Aiden, did I do something wrong? He seemed very angry today."
"It’s not your fault." Aiden gently rubbed her head, taking out a tissue to wipe away the tears at the corners of her eyes.
"But I..."
"I’ll find an opportunity to explain things to him." Initially, Aiden hadn’t planned on saying much to Julian, but seeing Moira cry and laugh because of him, clearly loving him deeply.
He didn’t understand why, but deep down, he couldn’t bear to see Moira upset.
However, Moira shook her head, rejecting the idea, "There’s no need, Aiden. He was upset because we were too close. Even if you explain, he won’t listen."
"I’ll make him listen." Aiden frowned.
"I know you mean well, but can I handle this myself?" Moira sniffled. She didn’t want to trouble Aiden, nor did she want their relationship to deteriorate further.
Aiden remained silent for several seconds before nodding, "Alright."
He thought if Moira couldn’t resolve it herself, he could step in later.
With Aiden’s comfort, Moira felt much better, and a smile slowly returned to her face.
As for Julian Sinclair—
After parting ways with Moira on the set, he arranged to meet Adrian Grant at a bar.
Adrian was quite enjoying himself in the lap of luxury but resented being called to a bar by Julian. He had plenty of grievances.
"What’s the point of calling me out for nothing? My little girlfriend is still waiting for me," Adrian complained after downing a glass of red wine.
"I called you to drink, not to listen to your nonsense," Julian replied, refilling Adrian’s glass and clinking it hard against his, "Drink up."
Adrian had no other choice but to be a sacrifice and accompany his friend, "Okay, since you’re in a bad mood, it’s my duty as a brother to keep you company. But what’s the reason? Didn’t Moira Young bully you?"
He found it highly unlikely, as Moira clung to Julian impossibly. Besides, it was usually Julian who upset Moira, not the other way around.
"Do you know Aiden Webb?" Julian asked, eyes narrowed dangerously.
"Aiden Webb?" Adrian quickly searched his memory and tentatively asked, "The actor-singer superstar Aiden Webb?"
Julian nodded, "Yes."
"Oh? But he’s just a small star in the entertainment circle. How did he provoke you?" Adrian chuckled secretly but was confused, "Such trivial people, even if they offended you, wouldn’t be enough for you to drown your sorrows in alcohol, right?"
Julian never used to get drunk over such minor affairs.
"Moira is very special to him." Julian’s expression flickered, but his voice carried a hint of malevolence.
Adrian understood immediately; it was indeed about Moira.
He became curious, "Special? In what way special?"
