Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 269: Reversal
Actually, even she wasn’t confident when she said this, but by now, the only man she could think of was him.
However, she clearly saw Fiona Rhodes’s expression change slightly, her eyes narrowed for a moment.
Noticing her unnatural look, Moira Young continued, "If he knew how you treated me like this, aren’t you afraid he’ll hate you?"
"Are you threatening me?" Fiona couldn’t help but scoff, "Who do you think you are, what right do you have to threaten me?" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
The others thought Moira was daydreaming. On one side was a small artist from the company, on the other his own fiancée, how would Julian Sinclair not know who was more important?
Moira had just mentioned Uncle, but no one cared who this Uncle she spoke of was, let alone relate it to Julian Sinclair.
Everyone thought, how could President Sinclair possibly retaliate against his fiancée for a mere artist? Isn’t that a joke?
But just then, a voice as cold as ice came from afar, even just hearing it made a chill run up one’s spine.
"If she doesn’t have the right, do I?"
The voice approached, and a tall slender figure emerged in view.
Even though he was still dozens of meters away, there was already an intangible pressure in the air, an oppressive feeling that made everyone present find it hard to breathe.
"Julian?" Seeing it was Julian Sinclair, Fiona stood up excitedly and walked towards him.
Julian’s eyes darkened, not stopping on Fiona at all, instead, they landed directly on Moira Young.
When he saw Moira being pressed to the ground like that, the turbulent anger in his eyes seemed ready to devour everything.
Fiona’s steps halted, intimidated by that gaze, she dared not move forward.
The moment Moira saw Julian, she couldn’t hold back her grievances anymore, and tears fell: "Uncle, it hurts so much."
Everyone thought Moira was crazy. Julian was Fiona’s fiancé, how could a minor artist act childishly towards someone else’s fiancé?
But just as they thought Moira was doomed, Julian signaled to his people to push away the man pressing Moira down and then tightly clasped her into his arms: "I’m sorry, I came late."
The scene left Julie stunned, she subconsciously asked, "President Sinclair, aren’t you Sister Fiona’s fiancé? How can you hold another woman?"
Julian looked up, his eyes holding unfathomable darkness, "Is it you who’s been spreading such groundless rumors in the company?"
Julie shook her head in disbelief, "How can that be a rumor? Sister Fiona herself said it..."
Julian turned to Fiona, his voice as piercing as the cold winter wind, "Fiona Rhodes, I seem to have warned you not to push your luck."
"Julian, I didn’t, she bullied me first, so I fought back." In front of Julian, Fiona turned back into that understanding good woman, her expression teary and pitiful.
Yet Julian only had eyes for Moira, giving Fiona no room for dignity.
"It’s not for you to say who she is."
Killing intent flickered in Julian’s eyes as he looked at Fiona like she was trash.
Initially, Fiona still had a glimmer of hope, thinking that as long as she softened up, Julian would spare her some dignity for old time’s sake.
But he didn’t.
Deep resentment swirled in Fiona’s eyes. She didn’t look up but could feel the questioning gazes around her.
"Did she not claim to be President Sinclair’s fiancée? What’s the situation now?"
"Even if she’s not President Sinclair’s fiancée, she’s still from a prestigious family, a stature we can’t match. Why, do you dare do something to her?"
This made sense, although Fiona’s facade was pierced by Julian’s appearance, no one dared to oppose her nonetheless.
Only now, Fiona’s reputation was likely ruined.
The fact that Julian would protect her so publicly, and not spare Fiona any face, left Moira dumbfounded.
Seeing her with her teary face, Julian pinched her nose: "Silly girl, did I buy HM to let you be bullied like this?"
Julian’s words caused an uproar throughout the venue.
No one had expected that Julian had bought the former HM not to support Fiona but to support Moira Young!
Just then, Joe suddenly exclaimed, "President Sinclair! AE! Is AE meant to stand for ’Love Young’?"
Julian didn’t speak, he just draped his coat over Moira, then picked her up.
His silence was the best answer, leaving everyone bewildered.
It turned out the Moira Young they had all been targeting was Julian’s cherished treasure, and the fiancée role was just Fiona’s self-directed farce.
After the show, everyone was sweating profusely.
They had helped Fiona against Moira, only to find out that Moira’s identity suddenly reversed, leaving them frightened.
No one noticed Fiona’s expression upon learning what AE meant, she stared daggers at Moira’s back, eyes filled with spite.
All attention was drawn to Julian and Moira, and no one noticed Fiona quietly leaving.
Julian naturally saw it but still considered the family’s reputation, sparing Fiona this time, but he wouldn’t show mercy again.
Before long, others noticed that Fiona had left, and seeing Moira had no intention of pursuing it, they scattered, not daring to stay.
Soon, only Moira, Julian, and Joe were left.
After all, Joe had some sense and realized the two had something to say, so he found an excuse to skedaddle.
In an instant, everyone was gone, and even the air around turned silent.
"Moira, come home with me," Julian’s voice was low, mingling with a hint of helplessness.
Moira didn’t answer, just nodded silently.
Back home, Julian carried Moira directly upstairs.
Once inside the room, Moira was placed on the bed and turned away: "I’m tired, I want to sleep."
Julian said nothing, efficiently undressing.
When she felt the bed sink beside her, Moira realized something was wrong, and turned over, crashing into his broad chest, letting out a startled cry, "Uncle, what are you doing!"
Julian held her tightly, "Aren’t you tired? Sleep."
Moira reached out to push him, "I meant I wanted to sleep alone! I don’t need you to stay!"
"If I don’t, then who will?" The man’s voice turned cold, "Moira, wasn’t what I said today clear enough?"
Moira’s pushing softened, of course, she knew he meant what he’d said at the company, and that sweet feeling yet lingered in her heart.
But remembering his previous behavior still infuriated her, so she unconsciously showed this coy demeanor.
The man seemed to understand her thoughts, tightening his hold on her, "Moira, I said, it’s you by my side, only you."
The rare sweet words rendered Moira limp in his embrace, and finally, she stayed there obediently, encircling her arms around his waist.
Their proximity allowed both to feel each other’s warmth.
Julian sighed gently, "Stop sulking, okay?"
"Just don’t upset me again," Moira murmured.
"Okay, I won’t make you sad again," Julian pressed a light kiss on Moira’s forehead.
Sensing the warmth on her forehead, Moira blushed slightly, "Mm."
And so, wrapped in each other’s embrace, they slowly drifted off to sleep.
