Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 260: Investment
Moira Young was too lazy to move, so she silently enjoyed this special treatment.
While having breakfast, Julian Sinclair suggested Moira Young rest well after she was done eating.
However, she shook her head, "The film needs to be reshot today, I have to return to the crew."
"No way." Julian Sinclair’s attitude was resolute, leaving no room for argument.
His domineering manner made Moira Young’s mood drop significantly, just when she was about to bring up the old argument, the door to the ward was knocked.
She pressed her lips together and swallowed her words.
Not long after, Lee led the director in, carrying various gifts in large and small packages.
Upon entering, he saw Moira Young and Julian Sinclair sitting closely together, and Julian Sinclair holding a bowl of white porridge, clearly in the act of feeding her.
Originally, he wanted to appear more authoritative in front of Moira Young, but upon seeing Julian Sinclair, he instantly became timid.
"I didn’t expect President Sinclair to be here, I hope I’m not disturbing you with my unannounced visit."
Julian Sinclair glanced at him and stayed silent, as Moira Young was having a tiff with Julian Sinclair, she naturally said nothing either.
The atmosphere was a bit awkward, and the director dared not speak.
Lee smiled helplessly and stepped forward to ease the tension, "We’re grateful for your visit to Miss Young. This is a ward, and there’s not much to offer, so you’ll have to settle for plain water."
As he spoke, he invited the director to sit down, and casually poured a cup of plain water and handed it to him.
Despite Lee being very polite, the director dared not act presumptuously, feeling a bit awkward even as he sat down, unsure of how to react.
Until Moira Young spoke lightly, "Director, I’ll return to the crew this afternoon."
"About that? There’s no rush. You should focus on recovering first, film whenever you feel like it, and if you don’t, we can wait. No hurry, no hurry."
"Wasn’t it urgent?" Moira Young was very puzzled, as earlier Lee mentioned every day the filming’s delayed is costing money, why the sudden change in attitude?
The director laughed, "No hurry, not urgent at all, the film’s investors are now saying it can proceed slowly."
Moira Young was not mindless; although the director didn’t explicitly say it, she understood his implication.
The investors of this film aren’t rushing, which indicates the film has new investors.
From beginning to end, Julian Sinclair said nothing. The director, seemingly unable to tolerate his oppressive presence, left after merely a couple of minutes citing other engagements.
After seeing the director off, Moira Young glanced at Julian Sinclair and spoke leisurely, "Uncle, did you invest in this film?"
Julian Sinclair didn’t speak, which implicitly confirmed it.
Moments later, he looked seriously at her, his thin lips slightly parted, "Moira, are you in the entertainment industry just for fun, or do you plan to stay long-term?"
"Not for fun." Moira Young gave him a definite answer.
Seeing this, Julian Sinclair said no more, lifting the porridge and fed another spoonful to Moira Young.
After breakfast, Moira Young obediently returned to bed. Whether from eating too much or taking medication, she soon fell asleep again.
During this time, Julian Sinclair didn’t leave, staying at her side without moving an inch.
At two in the afternoon, Moira Young awoke again, only to be dragged by Julian Sinclair to have lunch.
All three meals of the day were meticulously arranged by him, leaving her with nothing to worry about.
Long accustomed to this pampered lifestyle, Moira Young felt completely at ease.
After lunch, Moira Young, feeling rather stifled, applied to go out for a walk.
Julian Sinclair initially disagreed but eventually gave in to Moira Young’s persistent coaxing, consenting to walk around the hospital’s backyard.
Just as they were about to leave, a knock sounded at the door. Without thinking, Moira Young opened it, and seeing Heath Sterling standing outside, she was momentarily stunned, "Heath? How come you’re here?"
"When I went to the crew, I heard you were hospitalized last night due to acute gastroenteritis, so I came to see you."
With a face full of guilt, Heath Sterling looked at Moira Young, "It’s all my fault for taking you out to eat those random things yesterday; otherwise, you wouldn’t have ended up in the hospital."
Moira Young shrugged it off with a smile, "It’s not your fault, I had already eaten before you treated me."
"Anyway, to express my apology, I’ve decided to stay and look after you until you recover and are discharged." Heath Sterling sighed in self-reproach, knowing Moira Young wouldn’t have suffered so much if not for him.
Moira Young was about to refuse when she heard the icy voice of Julian Sinclair behind her, "She’s my responsibility, not yours."
"Mr. Sinclair." Faced with the somber Julian Sinclair, Heath Sterling not only remained unafraid but boldly met his gaze, "Moira and I are friends, well within my right to care for her."
"Who do you think you are to care for Moira? You think you’re competent?" Julian Sinclair’s sharp eyes surveyed Heath Sterling, full of disdain.
His words deeply provoked Heath Sterling. He knew he was not comparable to Julian Sinclair in terms of status but it didn’t mean he feared him.
With his arms crossed defiantly, his eyes carried a hint of mockery, "Mr. Sinclair, I admit I’m not on par with you, but your overwhelming dominance only hurts Moira."
"I’ll say it once — get out of this room." Julian Sinclair’s expression was icy, lacking patience for verbal sparring with Heath Sterling.
Moira Young looked at Julian Sinclair’s intimidating demeanor with dissatisfaction, defending Heath, "Heath was just visiting; why are you being so angry?"
Her attempts at persuasion only aggravated Julian Sinclair further.
He directly pulled Moira Young behind him, his fierce gaze fixed firmly on Heath Sterling, "What? Can’t hear when I tell you to leave?"
Heath Sterling tilted his head indifferently, showing no intention to leave, his phoenix eyes brimming with anger, akin to a lion on the brink of fury.
Just before he could explode, Moira Young lost her temper first.
She glared at Julian Sinclair, incredulous, "Julian Sinclair, how can you be so unreasonable? Heath merely came to check on me, what wrong did he do for you to treat him this way?"
"You’re siding with him?" Moira Young’s actions brought a laugh from Julian Sinclair; the girl he cherished since childhood was fuming at him for another man?
This wasn’t the first time.
Moira Young attempted to reason with Julian Sinclair, yet he insisted on driving Heath Sterling away.
After several exchanges devoid of resolution, Moira Young could no longer tolerate it and yelled at Julian Sinclair, "Leave! I don’t want to see you. You, go!"
"Huh." Moira Young’s fury pierced Julian Sinclair’s eyes, and without another word, he picked up his coat and left.
Heath Sterling wanted to comfort Moira Young, but she shook her head, "You should leave as well; I need some alone time."
Seeing this, Heath Sterling was helpless too, and could only remind her to take care of herself.
