Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 19: Not Understanding
"But now that you have a girlfriend, I can’t be too close to you; that’s how it is in TV dramas." Moira Young’s tears that had stopped started to flow again. At her age, she should understand everything, but she was protected so well by Julian Sinclair that she wasn’t exposed to the distractions, so she matured later than her peers.
"Then for Moira, I won’t have a girlfriend." Julian Sinclair looked at Moira Young’s innocent face, and his heart just wanted to pamper and coax her, unwilling to think about anything else.
"But you two have... have done that..." Moira Young found it hard to articulate, blushing, hiding under the blanket, and peeking at him.
"You’re still young, what do you know." Julian Sinclair pulled the blanket down a bit, revealing her tender and moist face, "Forget what happened today, and don’t keep things you shouldn’t in your little head!"
The more Julian Sinclair said that, the clearer the image in Moira Young’s mind became, but luckily she heard the answer she wanted to hear clearly. As long as Julian Sinclair didn’t abandon her, she wouldn’t feel so upset.
"Julian, there’s a video conference from abroad. Are you ready to take it?" Assistant Zack knocked on the door, not daring to come in.
"Bring it in." Julian Sinclair returned from abroad for Moira Young, leaving behind a huge pile of work.
Zack came in, placed the laptop on the coffee table in the lounge, set everything up, and waited for Julian Sinclair to start the call.
"Uncle, go ahead and get busy, I’ll just watch quietly without disturbing you." Moira Young felt guilty, knowing how exhausted Julian Sinclair was because of her over the past few days, she didn’t want to delay him further.
"Be good, take a nap."
Moira Young nodded obediently, closed her eyes, and rested peacefully.
As long as Julian Sinclair was by her side, she felt secure, even if there was thunder and lightning outside, she wasn’t afraid at all.
Her head heavy and drowsy, she drifted off to sleep.
She didn’t know how long had passed when she dimly heard the sound of a door closing. She opened her eyes to find Julian Sinclair was no longer there.
It was still raining heavily outside, and she suddenly felt scared. She got out of bed wanting to find him.
The hospital hallway was very quiet, apart from nurses, there were few people. She searched everywhere but couldn’t find any trace of Julian Sinclair.
Uncle... wouldn’t really abandon her, would he? But he just promised her he wouldn’t...
Moira Young’s eyes were red, and her heart pounded as if it would explode at any moment.
She dragged her heavy body, not knowing where she wandered off to, and when her mind returned, she realized she had reached the VIP ward in orthopedics.
She remembered Heath Sterling’s ward number clearly, at the end of the hallway.
Should she... take a look?
Wearing a hospital gown, she hesitated and struggled in the middle of the hallway for a long time before finally gathering the courage to lift her foot and slowly approach Heath Sterling’s ward.
"Heath, I’ve sorted out the transfer procedures for you. Once you’re discharged, rest at home for a while. Just take a year off from school before going back."
The door was open, and Moira Young nervously held her breath, leaning against the wall at the door.
"Sigh, he was so badly hurt by that girl, suffering such injustice out of nowhere." Heath’s mom’s voice carried a slight hint of affection, and Moira Young heard it all, guilt filling her heart.
"Don’t say anymore!" Accompanied by the sound of a porcelain bowl shattering on the ground, Heath Sterling’s words pierced Moira Young’s heart like a thorn before she could even see clearly, leaving no trace of blood but immense pain.
Did he really hate her that much...
Moira Young finally lost heart. If Heath Sterling truly didn’t want to hear her name or see her again, she would stop being a nuisance.
Holding back her tears, she returned to her own ward’s floor and found that Julian Sinclair seemed to be looking for her.
"Uncle!" Moira Young ran over and hugged Julian Sinclair, burying her face in his chest, crying.
Her first crush hated her, and she was really hurt, but she didn’t want to mention it in front of Julian Sinclair.
"What’s wrong with you?" Julian Sinclair worriedly lifted her small face.
Moira Young sobbed, "I thought you left."
"I wouldn’t. I promised you."
Moira Young finally wiped her tears, yes, he promised her.
Time flew by, and before she knew it, a long time had passed.
Moira Young put the past behind her, focusing on her studies with the college entrance exam looming.
Today was Moira Young’s eighteenth birthday.
