Chapter 333: Chapter 333: Mother and Son Visit the Lu Family Ancestral Home Together

Imperial City, Lu Family’s old estate.

During Lu Jihan’s business trip over the past two days, Song Yinyin took her son, Song Dabai, to the Lu Family’s old estate.

Before going, Uncle Rong mentioned that this old estate has a century-long history. Five years ago, Lu Jihan funded its renovation, adding bricks and wood while preserving the original appearance, refreshing the entire estate.

Now, this old estate of the Lu Family, despite being ’old’, exudes a classic charm both inside and out, like a work of architectural art—it’s truly beautiful.

"Wow—Mommy, look at that little garden, it’s so pretty, so many water lilies! Hey, what kind of bird looks like a duck?"

Upon entering the old estate, Song Dabai started chattering away like a little sparrow, filled with curiosity about the beautiful estate.

"That’s a mandarin duck, not a duck," Song Yinyin explained.

"Mandarin duck? That’s a strange name, but it sure looks like a duck. Can I catch one to see?" Song Dabai asked.

"No, you can’t."

But Song Dabai didn’t hear what Song Yinyin said and ran straight towards the pond.

"Dabai, don’t run around, be careful not to fall," Song Yinyin followed closely behind him, chasing as they went inside.

"Dabai!"

At this moment, someone called out loudly from across the courtyard.

Song Yinyin and Song Dabai instinctively turned to look and saw Lu Jinyan pushing Yan Xue in a wheelchair coming out from the house.

Upon hearing that Song Dabai was coming to visit the estate, Yan Xue insisted on coming out to greet him.

She had just recovered from a serious illness, her complexion was quite rosy, and she seemed in good spirits.

To prevent her from catching a cold, Lu Jinyan dressed her in a light jacket and brought a wheelchair for her convenience.

"Sister-in-law, why did you come out?" Noticing this, Song Yinyin quickly approached with Song Dabai, "Dabai, quickly greet Auntie."

"Hello, Auntie."

Song Dabai, fair and adorable, had cheeks like soft buns, watermelon-style hair hanging over his big forehead, and wore a yellow T-shirt, army-green overalls, and a khaki hat, making him look even cuter from afar.

He politely and obediently bent down and greeted Yan Xue.

Upon seeing him, Yan Xue grinned broadly, "Dabai, come here, let Auntie hug you!"

Concerned that Song Dabai might dash over and accidentally hurt Yan Xue’s surgical wound, Song Yinyin advised, "Be careful, don’t hurt Auntie."

"Okay."

Song Dabai nodded and refrained from jumping forward.

Instead, Yan Xue grabbed Song Dabai, lifted his face, and gave him a big kiss.

Song Dabai wrinkled his little nose and tilted his head, asking, "Auntie, your house is so big, bigger than my daddy’s, and it’s so pretty, so pretty, with ducks too!"

Yan Xue and Lu Jinyan chuckled.

Lu Jinyan corrected him, "Those aren’t ducks, they’re mandarin ducks."

"I don’t care, I want to call them ducks."

Song Dabai pouted and went forward to take Yan Xue’s hand, saying, "Auntie, will you go see the ducks with me?"

"Sure, sure, Auntie will go with you."

Song Dabai was like a bundle of joy; as soon as he arrived, the once quiet and somewhat chilly estate suddenly came alive.

At noon, Song Yinyin and her son Song Dabai were invited to stay for lunch. Since the weather was nice outside, the table was set up in the courtyard.

With a picturesque view before them and a table full of delicious dishes, the little one ate two full bowls of rice.
