Sweet like Wine: Love Your Dimples Even More-Chapter 145 - 72: A Script That Moves Myself
Artie couldn’t understand how Sean and Summer Fairmont managed to "engage in a secret relationship" right under her nose.
She was even more puzzled why Summer, who was always straightforward and virtuous, would lie to him about this matter.
"I’m sorry, I used an inappropriate title. Next time, I’ll just call her Summer. Or... Miss Summer Fairmont." Sean realized his mistake but didn’t understand the real reason Artie was upset.
Using such intimate terms, especially when no one knew the true relationship between him and Summer, was certainly not something a seasoned winemaker, like himself, would say.
"If apologies were useful, could I chop you into pieces and say sorry to each part of your body?"
Artie’s anger was far from subsided, and Sean’s apology seemed to hit her full force.
Indiscriminate, confronting anyone in sight, even the boy she likes wouldn’t be spared.
The description of a bloody and violent scene escalated the level of awkwardness in the room.
"In a few days." The three-word phrase used by Summer was one only Artie could understand.
"A few days? If it can’t be explained now, how can it be explained in a few days?" The Pouting Siren’s big brother wouldn’t stand for being wronged.
"Artie, you can’t throw a tantrum like this. Go and rest in your room, let your brother handle it, okay?" Leo spoke up to prevent further "deterioration" of the situation.
When Artie got upset, as her brother, Leo could naturally allow her to.
But there were other people present besides just Leo.
Artie’s confrontational stance with everyone couldn’t resolve any issues.
Artie obediently left.
Not truly obedient, but rather reluctantly so.
Deep down inside, Artie Vaughn didn’t want to give anyone a face.
But couldn’t control his tears.
Anger was about momentum, and if the anger wasn’t fully vented, tears would unceremoniously burst forth.
Staying any longer would make it obvious to the point that sunglasses couldn’t hide it.
That would be truly embarrassing.
Sean opened his mouth to explain further but found he had no words to justify himself.
Whether intentional or not, he had indeed tried to use titles to bring himself and Summer closer.
With what had happened, no amount of explanation was meaningful.
Uncertain of how to face the issue, Sean acknowledged that his problem-solving skills were still far behind Leo’s.
Since the Nation’s Gentleman had claimed he would handle it, Sean assumed there wouldn’t be much of a problem.
After coming to this realization, Sean simply chose to slowly return to his guest room.
As the only injured person at the scene, he really should go back to rest.
Sean certainly didn’t want to make anyone unhappy, but there were degrees of affinity.
Compared to Artie’s concern over "our Summer," Sean was more worried about whether Summer Fairmont would be equally concerned.
Loving peanut butter banana sandwiches was the first trait Sean found that connected the current Summer Fairmont with the young Summer Lowell.
His joy was so overwhelming that he forgot himself and used overly intimate terms.
Sean was particularly hesitant to provoke Summer Fairmont’s displeasure because of it.
The already awkward scene was rendered more so by the fact that only Leo and Summer Fairmont remained.
"Artie just has a child’s temperament. She jumps to conclusions quickly. Surely, there’s nothing between Summer and Master Sean Lowell, right?" Leo directly asked a question that Artie was too embarrassed or afraid to ask.
Summer Fairmont looked up at Leo.
Surprised.
Evaluating.
Leo wanting a definite answer for Artie wasn’t wrong, but such a direct question was hardly what you’d call gentlemanly.
Summer Fairmont wasn’t surprised by the gentleman-like nature of the question, but by how Leo appeared more sincere than any other time she’d met him before.
Compared to the constant smile and courtesy, this version of Leo was someone Summer Fairmont preferred to interact with.
Summer Fairmont didn’t want to lie to someone sincere. After a moment’s hesitation, she answered Leo: "There is a connection."
This was the extent of the answer Summer Fairmont could give.
Leo originally thought Summer Fairmont would give him a negative answer.
It wasn’t that he was particularly trusting of Summer Fairmont’s character, as they hadn’t spent much time together.
