Chapter 180: Chapter 180: Does It Count as a Big Deal?

Cringing at her own thoughts, Wu Yue quickly pushed her wild ideas aside. "System, did anything happen while I was asleep?"

The System seemed to ponder for a long while before finally saying, "There was a heavy downpour last night. Does that count?"

"It rained?"

Pleasantly surprised, Wu Yue stood up. But as she was about to move, she was shocked by a strand of glossy black hair falling over her chest. "Holy crap! What the hell is this?"

Although the original owner’s hair had also been black, it always had a faint brown tint in the sunlight.

She reached back and grabbed a handful of her hair... Sure enough, it was a lustrous black.

She felt a bit wistful now. ’Damn it, even with my daily hair care routine back in Hua Country, my hair was never this good.’

’So jealous...’

"System, didn’t you say nothing had changed?"

Wu Yue said, practically grinding her teeth, "System, you said nothing had changed? Then why did my hair turn out like this?"

The System flinched. "But don’t you think it looks beautiful, Host?"

’Beautiful, my foot!’

In the end, Wu Yue simply twisted some grass into a rope and braided her hair.

She pushed open the door. It was still clearly early, but the area was already bustling.

But this was no cheerful bustle; it was filled with an inexplicable tension and anxiety.

Frowning slightly, she strode outside.

The sight that met her eyes was a field of collapsed grass huts. People were bustling about, clearing away dried grass, Beast Skins, and food that had been soaked by the rain.

When Wu Yue came out, Qinghua was helping a neighbor clean up their things. She saw Wu Yue and hurried over.

Before Wu Yue could react, Qinghua pulled her into a huge hug, her voice choked with sobs. "Thank you. Thank you, Yue! If it weren’t for you, we’d be just like these other tribe members today."

Wu Yue froze at her words, then followed her gaze.

Sure enough, besides the few Pure Human families who had built houses like hers, not a single grass hut remained standing in the entire clearing.

A few little cubs, looking as if they had just been fished out of the muddy water, had been placed on a large stone platform by their parents, laid on a thick bed of dry grass.

Wu Yue stared at the scene in astonishment. "But... I thought it was just a rainstorm?"

Seeing her reaction, Qinghua gave a wry smile. "Yesterday’s rain was very heavy. The new grass huts we built are fine, but the old ones the tribespeople lived in couldn’t hold up.

"To be honest, we used to go through the same thing. In the period before the rainy season, we’d have to rebuild our huts again and again."

Wu Yue pressed her lips together. "Doesn’t the Clan Leader or the witch do anything about this?"

Qinghua shook her head. "Of course they do. There are several large caves at the highest point of our tribe’s territory. All of us go there for shelter when the rainy season arrives.

"But that’s for when the rainy season is actually here. We don’t have enough food yet. If the Beastman Warriors took us up to the caves now, it would be too inconvenient to come back down."

Wu Yue looked toward the mountains and, sure enough, she could see several cave openings high up on the cliffs.

"So we spend the entire rainy season sheltering in the caves?"

’That’s an entire season!’

Qinghua nodded. "That’s right. Our Snow Tiger Tribe does it for the entire rainy season. The Lion Tribe and the Black Wolf Tribe only need to shelter for most of it. As for the Flying Eagle Tribe, they live on high cliffs, so they don’t have to worry."
