Chapter 168: Chapter 168: The Dignity of a Beastman Warrior

Huh?

A Beastman Warrior fetching bathwater for a female?

What kind of female is such a badass?

The old Beastman squinted at him, his expression full of meaning. "Yuan Lang, my boy," he said, "Grandpa here understands the joy of finally having a female after being a single tiger for so many years. But you can’t just throw away your dignity as a Beastman Warrior."

Yuan Lang glanced meaningfully behind the old Beastman and raised an eyebrow. "Dignity?"

The old Beastman cleared his throat, looking very serious. "Listen to what Grandpa is telling you. As a powerful Beastman Warrior, you have to be fierce when you hunt. Even when you’re with the female you like, you can’t be doing these kinds of things."

As he spoke, he jutted his chin—with its tuft of a beard—toward the wooden bucket in Yuan Lang’s hand. "Like this. Is this something you should be doing?"

As he was speaking, a thought seemed to strike him. "The female you like... is she a Beastman female?"

The old Beastman was very confident in his guess. Besides a Beastman female, what other female would dare make a Beastman Warrior do chores?

But the tall Beastman Warrior before him shook his head. "She’s a Pure Human female."

A Pure Human!

The old Beastman’s face instantly stiffened. "You’re a real disappointment, my boy! She’s just a Pure Human female..."

"What’s wrong with a Pure Human female?"

Another aged voice sounded from behind the old Beastman.

The old Beastman didn’t even notice the new voice and continued on his tangent. "Pure Human females have no fighting ability. They’re as weak as chickens. They aren’t worthy of having us Beastman Warriors do these things for them."

"Is that so?"

The voice behind him instantly turned chilling.

Only then did the old Beastman sense that something was wrong. His expression froze, and he turned his head, his scalp tingling with dread.

An equally aged face appeared before him, and her teeth-gritting expression was all too familiar.

"Heh heh..." The old Beastman instantly abandoned all his previous pronouncements about how Beastman Warriors should treat Pure Human females.

He gave the old female a fawning look and whispered, "I was just bragging a bit in front of the young cub. Don’t take it seriously, heh heh..."

Yuan Lang: "..."

’Grandpa, your voice is a bit loud. I can hear you.’

"Bragging? Heh. I’ll give you something to *really* brag about!"

With that, she grabbed the old Beastman by the ear and started dragging him away.

Halfway there, she turned back to shout at Yuan Lang, "What’s the point of a Beastman Warrior having all that strength if not to do some work? If they don’t work, they can eat farts! Don’t listen to that old coot’s nonsense. Hurry up and get the water; the female is waiting for her bath."

With that, she continued dragging the yelping old Beastman over to the shade of a nearby tree.

Yuan Lang’s free hand unconsciously reached up to touch his own ear, and he suddenly had a bad feeling.

He decisively hoisted the wooden bucket and headed for the river. Along the way, he ran into many patrolling Half beastman Warriors and females, and he greeted each of them as he passed.

Wu Yue changed out the old grass in their nest for a fresh batch, tidied up a little, and then lay down to wait for her bathwater.

But...

’Can someone tell me, did that guy Yuan Lang go all the way to the water’s source to fetch it?’

’What’s taking him so long?’

Just as she was about to go out and look for him, the thud of heavy footsteps came from above. She went to the entrance and saw Yuan Lang, carrying the wooden tub on his shoulder.

"What took you so long? Did something happen?"

A flicker of light passed through Yuan Lang’s deep eyes. "It was nothing. I just ran into some tribesmen I know on the way back and chatted for a bit."

With that, he set the bathing tub on the ground. "You can wash up first. I’ll wait outside."
