Surviving in the Beast World with a System-Chapter 111: It’s You
He looked at Wu Yue with a sincere expression. "I wonder if you have a good solution?"
Wu Yue sneered. ’One bucket to trick me into making food for you? You’ve got some beautiful dreams to go with that pretty face of yours.’
She put on a troubled expression. "Oh dear, I don’t have a solution for that either. Everyone in the tribe cooks wild vegetables the same way. Maybe you’ll get used to it if you keep trying."
Looking at the young female’s large, round eyes, Yuan Lang was inwardly amused.
’This cunning young female. She wants the horse to run without feeding it any grass. Where in the world could you find a deal that good?’
So he shook his head. "In that case, forget it. I made these carefully polished little wooden buckets specifically to trade with females for delicious food."
Wu Yue suddenly felt like she was in a marketplace, haggling over prices. But...
"Don’t be in such a rush. I haven’t finished talking yet."
Yuan Lang: "!!!"
His tiger-like face was a picture of shock. ’Young lady, is that how you use the term "in a rush"?’
’Back in my old world, if you talked like that, people would think I, a General, was a total lecher, you know!’
Perhaps sensing her choice of words was inappropriate, Wu Yue gave an awkward little laugh. "Well, um... I can help you make some food, but in return, you have to help me make tools whenever I need them in the future."
Yuan Lang was inwardly delighted, but his handsome face showed no trace of it. "Of course."
「By the time the two returned to the tribe, it was nearly time for dinner.」
News that several Collection Captains had eaten poisonous food had already begun to spread through the tribe.
After helping Wu Yue set down the new wooden bucket, Yuan Lang picked up the one in her dwelling that Shi Lin had made for her. "You can use the smoothly polished one. I’ll take this one." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Wu Yue’s face lit up with a pleasant surprise. "Really?"
Yuan Lang raised an eyebrow. "I never lie."
’But when I do lie, even I scare myself...’
Now that she owed him a favor, Wu Yue proactively picked up two of the small wooden buckets. "Let’s go. I’ll help you carry these back to your cave. You can’t carry so many by yourself."
’Of course I can carry them all,’ Yuan Lang thought.
But... He looked up and rubbed his nose. He certainly wasn’t going to say that out loud.
The two of them chatted as they walked toward Yuan Lang’s cave.
"Wu Yue, stop right there!"
An arrogant female voice called out from behind them.
Wu Yue and Yuan Lang exchanged a look. They were all too familiar with that voice; after all, it hadn’t been long since they last heard it.
They turned around.
Sure enough, Ye Duo was standing there, her face twisted in a vicious expression. Beside her stood a haggard-looking Aya and a few Half beastman Warriors.
Wu Yue looked at her coolly. "What do you want?"
The jealousy in Ye Duo’s eyes was practically overflowing, but she took a deep breath, struggling to suppress it.
"Are you responsible for the red rash on my Amu and the other Grandmas?"
Her voice was dripping with venom.
Wu Yue frowned and gave a short, derisive laugh. "I just don’t get it. I’ve never done anything to you, so why do you always have it out for me? Do you have any proof?"
Ye Duo sneered, advancing on Wu Yue step by step. "You’re the only female in the tribe who knows about herbs, aren’t you?"
Wu Yue scoffed. "And what’s that supposed to prove? Maybe someone accidentally mixed in some poisonous grass while gathering. It’s not out of the question."
The surrounding tribespeople nodded in agreement. An older Grandma added, "This sort of thing has happened in the tribe before. We’ve even had tribespeople die from accidentally eating poisonous wild plants."
