At the edge of the forest just outside the tribe, Wu Yue clung tightly to a tree trunk twice her own girth, her two slender legs trembling as if she had Parkinson’s disease.

Her tear-filled eyes held a fierce glint as she glared at the beastman below. "Yuan Lang, you son of a mutt! If you’ve got the guts, let me down, and we can go another three hundred rounds!"

Hearing this, Yuan Lang chuckled and raised an eyebrow. "And what kind of ’rounds’ would my little female be referring to?"

Wu Yue huffed. "The kind where I... Damn it!"

It suddenly dawned on her. She stared down at the beastman, her illusions shattered. "You bastard, were you just ’driving a car’?"

The words had barely left her mouth when the beastman agilely scaled the tree, pulling her into his arms and pressing her against his chest.

"Don’t talk. Someone’s coming."

With that, she let out a cold snort and walked off, vanishing from sight in moments.

The Half-beastman buried his face in his hands, letting out a pained sob.

But it was only for a moment. He quickly wiped away his tears and ran after her.

Ye Duo was still carrying their cub; it was too dangerous for her to be alone in the forest.

Long after the two had disappeared, the beastman holding Wu Yue still showed no sign of letting her go.

Wu Yue’s mouth twitched. She poked the beastman’s firmly muscled forearm. "Excuse me... can you let me go now?"
