Survival Records of 3650 days in the Otherworld-Chapter 359 - Ancient site (9)
Chapter 359: Ancient site (9)
“It has been a long time,” Ponus said.
“I am receiving recent information from Mr. Joonbum.”
Everyone became curious and Ponus explained, “Those gray things you just saw are small machines, the ones you like to call ‘nanomachine.’ It is similar to what you might think. I am analyzing Mr. Joonbum’s memory.”
“Whoa.”
“Can you answer our question then?” Graham asked.
Ponus nodded.
“What is it that you would like?”
“Why is there a spaceship here?”
“The reason why I am here is to proceed with terraforming to create an environment that is possible for living beings to live. That is my task.”
“Task?”
“Yes. The ones created me are humans, just like you. They have given me orders to seek out space and find a planet that is suitable for terraforming and create an environment for human survival.”
Ponus began explaining his grand order. What he first did when he landed on this planet was create the environment.
“It was a long and time-consuming task. The world began to change for the first 10 thousand years. Then I released various living beings to this world so that they could reproduce.”
It was an amazing story. It was how humans and other beings began to take place in this world.
‘It wasn’t just out of the ocean that people came to be then. Is it the same for Earth?’ Joonbum thought.
Ponus continued, “Living species began to evolve in unique forms and I collected these newly-formed species of their DNA. And when I was done and was trying to leave for another planet, a problem occurred.”
“Problem?”
“Yes. The main engine exploded, causing a series of chain explosions. All energy supplies to various regions were destroyed. I was able to find a solution to solve the problem, but it is not possible to act on it.”
Ponus then showed a giant ball-shaped object in front of everyone.
“I was protecting this all this time.”
The object was colored in bright blue.
“This is the ship’s main energy source. I am barely forming a balance of energy within it so that it will not explode. It is why I cannot do anything else.”
“What happens if the balance is broken?” Graham asked.
“The planet will be blown to bits. It will be… another big bang, as you know it.”
“Whoa.”
Jinpok was shocked. Joonbum then asked curiously.
“Wait…”
Ponus continued, “When the explosion consumes all nearby planets, it will affect the entire universe. And so will it affect the Earth.”
“E-earth!?”
Everyone became shocked.
“Many galaxies will be wiped out. Explosion of this energy ball is severe.”
Everyone became dumbfounded. But Ponus’ voice brightened up.
“But it’s good since you are all here. There is one thing you can do to help.”
“Wait. No way!”
Jinpok shook his head but everyone else nodded.
“I need help in fixing the energy lines to the ship.”
“I knew it!” Jinpok frowned, “You need the lines fixed?”
Ponus nodded and a blueprint popped up in the air.
“This is why I need the energy line. This place is a factory for manufacturing automated bots to fix the ship. You just need to fix the energy line into that factory.”
“And if we say no?”
“Then you leave me with no choice but to…”
Ponus glanced at the large energy ball. It was a threat. Joonbum nodded.
“Let’s do it.”
“Can we trust him?”
“Trust or not, we can’t endanger our world. Besides, he claims he created this world.”
Everyone nodded. It was better to help as there was nothing to lose.
“What do you want us to do?” Jinpok asked. Ponus then began to explain.
“We need to fix the location marked here. There is strong radiation coming out of it, so Graham and Garent should lead.”
“Wow! I like radiation!” Garent shouted.
“The other three will connect here and here.”
“Wait… isn’t it that place?” Jinpok said as he checked the map. Doral too spoke dumbfoundedly.
“Yeah…”
“Yes. It’s a place with feces. Your job is to clean out the blocked passage there.”
Ponus’ job was to clean out the animals’ feces.
“It will have hardened, so it will be quite some work. Fortunately, we just need to clean out that area.”
“Just this place?”
“Yes.”
Everyone nodded. Ponus’ request wasn’t that hard. That’s when Ponus spoke.
“The Gate, as you call it is a twist of dimension which is a very dangerous phenomena.”
Everyone turned to Ponus again with shock.
“What?”
“Did you read that from the memory?”
“Yes.”
Ponus nodded and replied, “The Gate is in its early stages. But as time goes by, the timing of its opening will increase and further distort the dimension. It will become bigger.”
Ponus then further explained, “The reason of its happening is due to the explosion of the energy ball. It should have been much smaller before, but it is only getting bigger.”
“…And to solve this?” Graham asked. Ponus then glanced back at the giant ball again.
“Let’s do it then.”
There was no need to speak any further.
