"Going n—naked? Why would you think this is a good idea?" Ava stuttered.

Ruby arched an eyebrow. "Well, there is water, and when we bathed together, all of us were naked. So isn’t it obvious when you put two and two together?"

Claire shook her head with a sigh. "It seems that we need to go into depth about why we humans wear clothes..."

While this was happening, Robert threw a discreet glance towards Livia.

"What?" She noticed his glare immediately.

"Nothing..." Robert shrugged. "I was just thinking how tired I am from the recent battles, and that going to a pool sounds like a nice change of pace."

After a brief second he added.

"Not to mention with the minister of defense being praised for her efforts, few if any would object to you taking one day off."

Livia giggled. "Just admit that you want to see me in a swimsuit."

Robert remained unfazed. "I do."

A slight pink hue began to burn on Livia’s cheeks. Due to her gothic attire, the change was quite evident.

"You little rascal... Okay, let’s go. Be prepared for a view you won’t forget!"

Just like that, everybody split up in search of swimsuits, with the plan of meeting at the water park later. Surprisingly, even the duo of reporters decided to take part in it.

In one of the numerous swimsuit shops, the girls were rendered motionless by the sheer variety of choices.

Since pretty much all of them were battle-hardened veterans, their knowledge about swimming attire was nonexistent.

To begin with, how could swimsuits that barely covered one’s body have so much variety? Just from a single glance they counted more than fifty! This, of course, didn’t take into account that it was possible to combine tops with bottoms and the amount of different colors to choose from.

Getting overwhelmed right from the very start, they resorted to asking a staff member for help.

The one who answered their call was Irena, an older woman with wrinkles hugging her face and a bright smile to boot.

"Oh dear! Such cutie pieces are looking for swimsuits? Follow after me. By the end you will look stunning beyond belief!" 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

After observing their figures and listening to their preferences, they got to work.

Victoria was the first to go. What she whispered to Irena remained a mystery, but the mischievous smile curling on the old woman’s lips made it clear she was thoroughly enjoying herself.

"A woman with goals such as yours has to go with classics! They, after all, are considered classics for a reason!"

Deeming Irena’s advice reasonable, Victoria made her choice. A dark, classic triangle bikini that hugged her curves and accentuated her features. It struck the perfect balance, showing just enough of her skin to spark allure in most people. The top, however, had to be larger than Irena had initially anticipated, since Victoria was generously endowed in the chest department.

Ava’s attire fit her character perfectly, going along with the color of her hair and eyes. She bought a pink off-the-shoulder bikini top combined with a swim skirt. The flowy design allowed her to reach levels of cuteness never thought possible, perfectly complementing her petite build.

Because Claire didn’t want to get tan lines, she chose a bandeau bikini top. The strapless bikini top fit her beautifully, and for the bottom she was content with the classic brief bikini bottom.

Out of all of them, Ruby made the most unique choice. With her athletic build that could outshine most, she opted for a high-neck bikini top paired with high-cut bottoms, highlighting her toned physique to utter perfection.

As for why she’d decided to participate in the water park, despite having spent so much time hiding her feline features, there were two reasons.

First, she knew she couldn’t stay hidden forever. This was her way of becoming more comfortable with the outside world.

The second, and arguably more important, reason was that the underground tunnels were still being investigated. It was only a matter of time before the various squads uncovered the location of her kin and others like her who were being held in isolation. Her decision to make a public appearance was an attempt to sway public opinion, hoping to encourage acceptance for people like herself.

Thanks to Irena’s expertise and guidance, the girls’ shopping trip went far more smoothly than expected. After spending just over six and a half hours and dropping 200,000 credits on premium swimsuits, it felt like a steal!

Meanwhile, the boys didn’t spend much time debating their clothing choices. They all grabbed the same black or dark blue classic swim trunks on sale that caught their eye. However, due to the massive line, it took them longer than expected to finish their shopping, a whopping twenty minutes, with a total cost of 6,000 credits.

"Such a rip-off!" Enzo bellowed. "I knew I should have just gone with my old swimsuit!"

"You mean the one you said was riddled with holes?" Leo laughed. "That would have been a bit much."

Enzo clicked his tongue. Even if he didn’t have financial problems anymore, he still found the idea of spending so much money on simple swimsuits ridiculous.

Still considering that Amelia was going to be present, he gave in and bought something more presentable, hoping to make a good impression.

Finally, the hour of truth arrived, and the boys headed to the entrance of the water park. Surprisingly, the place was buzzing with people. With the tragedy of so many casualties, most opted to do anything in their power to shift their focus.

After all, taking part in entertainment activities was a far wiser choice, both financially and psychologically, than losing oneself in drinking or similar indulgences.

Still the crowd proved massive, with the water park being one of the main points of attraction.

The boys didn’t wait for long. Gasps and whispers spread across the waiting people with the appearance of the girls.
