Supreme Husband System! & Supreme Wife System!-Chapter 362: A guess about Coco’s abilities
Before Essora appeared, Idan, just in case, put on his slave collar, and Arabel, wearing a Ghost mask, changed her appearance.
"Oh, we’re inside a cage underground in a Trading house. I don’t think Essora will be able to enter here easily," Idan said, feeling the speed of Essora’s approach suddenly slow down.
It was only after Idan’s words that Arabel remembered where they were.
"What then?" she asked.
"Let’s wait a bit. If she doesn’t come here before Ned leaves Erza’s mansion, we’ll leave," Idan suggested, and Arabel nodded in agreement with his suggestion.
"By the way, I was wondering how Coco managed to rob so many treasuries?" asked Arabel. "How did she manage to pull this off without attracting attention? I understand that she can become invisible to everyone and move through the void to get anywhere, but aren’t there any alarms in the treasures?"
When Arabel asked this question, Idan looked at her and shrugged his shoulders.
"Who knows? But I’m sure every treasure trove has some kind of magical alarms or something like that," he replied. "It’s just, Belle, I do not know exactly how Coco’s ability works. You’ve already noticed that when she becomes invisible to others and interacts with us at the same time, the effect of her "invisibility" affects us as well. People around us somehow stop noticing us and our interaction with Coco. And this effect even affects creatures like the Master and Sierra."
Arabel also recalled the moments when others stopped paying attention to her when she interacted with Coco. And the most striking example of this, of course, was her trading sweets with Coco in Idan’s photo after their first meeting. Back then, all three Valkyries, who were very close to her in the sauna, did not pay attention to her trade with Coco.
"Are you saying that Coco’s ability can also affect inanimate objects?" Arabel, being smart, immediately understood what Idan was driving at.
"At the moment, this is the only explanation for how she managed to rob all these treasuries," Idan suggested. "Besides, those whom she had already robbed quickly found out about it. And after several of her raids, those who had not yet become her victims set up guards inside their treasuries."
Arabel, hearing this, frowned and asked anxiously:
"Isn’t Coco robbing Erza’s treasury right now? Doesn’t that mean she’ll notice it?"
"Yes, she’ll probably notice, — Idan replied. He continued: "Erza will discover your disappearance soon anyway, it’s only a matter of time."
Arabel nodded, agreeing with Idan. It wasn’t long yet, but knowing that Erza had given her a specific task, she would probably come soon to check if she had completed it.
"I asked Coco to rob the treasuries myself, but I asked her not to touch Erza’s treasury, so as not to give Erza the slightest hint that we were involved in these robberies," Idan added. "As an influential figure in the city, Erza should already be aware that the treasures of other creatures have been robbed by someone, but by whom is unknown."
"At the same time, you were in custody here, and I was under her personal supervision, so Erza couldn’t suspect us," Arabel concluded.
"Yes, I asked Coco, suggesting that perhaps a little girl could steal from the treasure troves, even if there are guards inside, due to her ability to distract attention, not to touch them," Idan added. "All this is done to prevent others, especially Erza, from realizing that the robber also has this ability."
"Erza, who was waiting for my task to be completed and should soon discover my disappearance and the disappearance of the heir of the Dark Beast Territory, will be distracted for a while because of the robbery of her treasury," Arabel muttered.
"Yes, that’s right. And once she finds out about it, we’ll have very little time to feint, Belle," Idan said. "It won’t be long before she discovers not only your disappearance, but also the disappearances of Milena and the boy."
"And then she’ll come here," Arabel finished Idan’s words.
Idan nodded.
Arabel was still certain that Erza hadn’t discovered her disappearance. The being she was connected to remained silent, and Arabel trusted the System’s words.
"She’s here," Idan said suddenly, interrupting her thoughts.
In less than ten seconds, the sound of the main door opening attracted the attention of all the prisoners in this spacious, dark and stuffy underground cell.
Everyone stared intently at the incoming creatures, wondering who had been brought here this time. After all, now was not the time for feeding.
However, to their surprise, there were no prisoners among those who entered. Only three people entered the cell: two guards and one dark figure, in whose movements everyone immediately recognized one of the many servants of the local dark creatures.
Everyone was curious as to why this servant had come here.
A dark figure, entering this dark space under the building of the Trading House, silently moved, accompanied by guards, in the direction from where the attraction to the artifact she knew came from.
Idan and Arabel looked at each other as they watched the trio approach. Then Arabel nodded and took a step back, while Idan, on the contrary, stepped forward, preparing to meet and talk with Essora.
Soon, Essora and two guards of the Trading House appeared in front of the cage where Idan and Arabel were. Essora frowned at the cell containing more than a dozen prisoners.
She clearly felt the presence of an artifact that was familiar to her and which she felt in this cage. Knowing the abilities of this artifact, she immediately suspected something was wrong.
"Oh, isn’t that Miss Essora?" she heard a familiar voice and, looking up, saw Idan, who was slowly approaching the cage with a smile on his face.
Essora recognized him and, looking at his smile, frowned again.
"What brings you here?" asked Idan, still smiling.
Essora didn’t know why, but looking at his smile, she felt that something was wrong here. Moreover, she was sure that the artifact was inside this cage where this young man was.
Essora quickly realized that this guy was probably related to the artifact. After all, he came from the world where Cleoruo went—the one who should have this artifact.
As Idan looked at Essora and waited for her response and actions, he unexpectedly received a message from Ned.
"So he succeeded", — Idan thought, and was immediately struck by what Ned had said.
"What?" — Idan almost said it out loud.
"Are you sure?" he asked Ned, and his partner immediately replied in the affirmative.
"Keep an eye on her, Ned. As soon as I’m done here, I’ll come over." Idan did not notice how his smile disappeared, replaced by a frown, which, of course, did not go unnoticed by Essora, who was standing in front of him.
