Supreme Hidden Dragon in the City-Chapter 425 We Won’t Pay This Money
Chapter 425: Chapter 425 We Won’t Pay This Money
Jiang Chunhua and Liu Fang exchanged glances, their expressions changing.
Jiang Qing stood up defiantly and said, "These bastards, the deadline hasn’t even arrived yet, it’s perfectly reasonable for us to bring guests into our home, but they insist on causing trouble for us, I’m going to give them a piece of my mind!"
Jiang Chunhua quickly grabbed Jiang Qing, "Don’t be foolish, you stay put here, I’ll go deal with them."
Then he and Liu Fang hurried outside.
Jiang Qing was of an age full of vigor, and even though she was a girl, she couldn’t just let others bully her. She didn’t listen to Jiang Chunhua and followed out, fuming.
Chen Fan and Su Qingyan, seeing this, also stood up and made their way outside.
In the courtyard stood a middle-aged man dressed in a suit but with it unbuttoned, looking disreputable, with slightly long hair, a bit of a bald spot, and a face full of wrinkles, accompanied by a group of tattooed and dyed-hair youths holding sticks.
The man at the forefront was none other than the director of Qingyang Town’s Guesthouse Administration Office, Xie Jin.
Seeing Jiang Chunhua come out, Xie Jin sneered, "Jiang Chunhua, are you deliberately trying to go against our administration? Or do you not take me seriously as the director?"
Jiang Chunhua looked at Xie Jin with a cold face and said firmly, "There’s still half a month left until the deadline set by the town, and within this half month the guesthouse is still mine, it’s none of your business who I host as guests!"
Xie Jin curled his lip, "Even though the guesthouse is supposedly ours, the remaining half month is just for you to move out, have I agreed to you using our guesthouse to host guests?"
Jiang Chunhua’s fists clenched at the man’s words, "You haven’t even paid us half the money for the room, how can you say that this guesthouse is yours?"
Xie Jin chuckled, "I am the director of the guesthouse, not the financial director. What does it have to do with me if you haven’t received the money? All I know is that this guesthouse no longer belongs to you. Since you’re using it to host guests, I have the right to intervene!"
In fact, he hadn’t submitted the data regarding Jiang Chunhua’s guesthouse, so the finance department was not aware that there was money to be paid out.
He thought of dealing with Jiang Chunhua’s family, and afterward, using his connections to swallow that sum of money for the rooms as well.
After all, by then Jiang Chunhua’s family would have been driven out of Qingyang Town, and with the town isolated from the world, he was not afraid of Jiang Chunhua’s family causing him trouble.
Jiang Qing looked at Xie Jin, indignation boiling within her as she shouted, "This guesthouse was bought by my parents with their lifetime savings. Our family has always been managing it with heart, and for years it’s been the most popular guesthouse. You saw our business booming, wanted to take over, and deliberately arranged for false complaints to drive our family out of Qingyang Town. We have been enduring all this, and now, without even providing us the compensation for housing, you’re forbidding us from hosting guests, this is outrageously excessive!"
Xie Jin glanced at Jiang Qing, a flicker of malevolence in his eyes as he said with a smile, "Since you put it that way, I won’t beat around the bush either. You’re right, I’m bullying your family, what can you do about it?"
Jiang Qing hadn’t expected the other party to be so brazen, and was so angry that she began to shake.
Xie Jin looked at Jiang Qing’s teeth-clenching yet helpless appearance, his gaze brimming with smug satisfaction.
"Let me tell you, here in Qingyang Town, if I want to bully you, you just have to take it. If you feel aggrieved, think about why I am the director, not you."
"Now that you’ve violated the rules by hosting guests, I need to punish you. Considering that your actions have had a severely negative impact on Qingyang Town, you need to pay a fine of one hundred thousand yuan immediately, or I’ll drive you out of Qingyang Town today!"
At those words, the faces of Jiang Chunhua’s family all turned sharply.
"We just hosted guests once, and you’re demanding a hundred thousand yuan fine? Have you lost all sense of reason?" Jiang Qing’s voice trembled with anger.
Xie Jin looked at her with a mocking smile, "If you don’t want to pay the fine, that’s not impossible. Dress up prettily today and come to my place tonight. First, entertain my son, then come to my room. If you satisfy me, you won’t have to pay the fine. How about it?"
Jiang Chunhua stepped forward, shielding Jiang Qing behind him, and glared at Xie Jin with fury in his eyes, "Xie Jin, you’ll get what you deserve!"
He had never been so angry before. Even though he had always followed the rules in his life, at this moment, murderous thoughts brewed within him.
Xie Jin didn’t take Jiang Chunhua seriously at all and coldly said, "How I die is none of your concern. You better think quickly about whether you want to pay the 100,000 fine or not. If you don’t pay it... well, don’t blame me for not being polite!"
As soon as his words fell, the young men with clubs behind him moved forward, staring fiercely at Jiang Chunhua and his family.
Liu Fang, pale with fear, hurriedly shielded Jiang Qing and hid behind Jiang Chunhua.
Jiang Chunhua’s forehead began to sweat with anxiety. Although he didn’t want to yield in front of a person like Xie Jin, he was, after all, just an ordinary man. He had a wife and daughter to protect, and Xie Jin was a ruthless man who definitely would resort to violence; he didn’t dare gamble with his family’s safety.
Just as he hesitated, a figure suddenly stood in front of them.
He looked up and saw that it was Chen Fan.
Chen Fan stared calmly at Xie Jin and his group, and said lightly, "We won’t pay this money."
Xie Jin sized up Chen Fan and said, "You’re just a guest here? This is our town’s business, none of your concern as a tourist. You better not meddle in our affairs."
Chen Fan smiled, "What I hate most in life are bullies like you. Now that I’ve come across this, how could I not get involved?"
Jiang Chunhua looked desperate, "Chen Fan, this isn’t your business. Don’t get involved; I’ll figure out a way to handle this."
Chen Fan smiled and said, "Uncle Jiang, don’t worry. I’m quite comfortable staying here, so I won’t let them chase you out."
Xie Jin snorted coldly, "Kid, don’t think I won’t touch you just because you’re a tourist. Don’t forget, Qingyang Town is unlike other scenic spots—it’s deep in the mountains. There are no police here to protect you!"
Chen Fan gave him a grin, "Actually, I think that’s something I should be saying to you."
Xie Jin’s eyebrows furrowed, "Are you out of your mind? Take a good look. Do we look like people who need the police for protection?"
Chen Fan nodded, "Yes."
His figure then vanished on the spot. A blur moved rapidly, jumps followed by a succession of screams.
The Jiang Chunhua family just glimpsed a blur; when they finally realized what was happening, they saw the young men lying on the ground, wailing in pain.
Chen Fan was holding Xie Jin by the neck, slapping him repeatedly.
"How does it feel to be bullied? Does it feel good?" Chen Fan questioned.
Xie Jin’s face was full of terror, with blood leaking from the corner of his mouth. Desperate, he stared at Chen Fan and cried out frantically, "Call the police, call the police! This guy is a madman..."
