Chapter 360: Chapter 259: Eternal Day Badge

Ji Xinghuo had frequent encounters with the Heavenly Kings, and the one he contacted most often was the Chie of the Snow Ape Tribe, Han Qiu, who always concealed his strength because of their trading relationship.

However, this snake-shaped Crystal Elite Clan member, despite being outwardly very polite, exuded a terrifying oppressive aura.

Ji Xinghuo didn’t even dare to use electromagnetic induction to scan the other party.

"Stronger than Han Qiu!"

He trusted his intuition, yet he still wore the defiant expression of a Red Emperor believer on his face, seemingly brave and fearless, but there was a hint of unease in his eyes. Looking up, he stared directly into the other’s eyes and replied, "I have seen this great one before."

"Hmm..."

The snake-shaped member of the Crystal Elite Clan examined Ji Xinghuo. His pitch-black pupils moved slightly, emitting a faint laugh, which seemed quite meaningful.

Still, Ji Xinghuo wasn’t certain if the other was actually smiling.

"Highlander, from which tribe do you come?" the snake-shaped Crystal Elite Clan member asked.

Ji Xinghuo replied, "From the Blood Fury Tribe."

"Is that so?" The other party neither affirmed nor denied, "Eighty seasons ago, I visited the Blood Fury Castle, but I remember the tattoos of the Blood Fury Tribe weren’t like this. Although the tattoos on your body look similar, there are mistakes in some details."

This statement startled Ji Xinghuo to the point where he couldn’t control his expression, which showed on his face.

"Heh, you don’t need to be afraid."

The snake-shaped Crystal Elite Clan member offered some reassurance with a smile, "Eternal Day City is inclusive of all races and welcomes all travelers. We don’t care how you choose to disguise yourself, but since you have triggered our security standards, you must report your origins truthfully."

His gaze seemed to have the ability to penetrate the heart and see through all disguises.

Ji Xinghuo no longer harbored any hope for luck and respectfully said, "Yes."

Then he removed the arm guards on his arms, his body shrank slightly as he reverted back to his genuine form. However, the blood prints and tattoos on his body could only be washed off with a special solution, and his hair would take some time to grow back, clearly showing he wasn’t a Highlander.

"You’re an Earthling?" the snake-shaped Crystal Elite Clan member asked.

This time, Ji Xinghuo was genuinely shocked; not only did the other recognize his race, but what shocked him the most was that the question was in the Asia-Pacific Community language!

Earth’s Star Gate was located in the Thousand Peak Abyss Forest, and Olympia was more than 20,000 kilometers away from Eternal Day City. Few Earthlings could make it to Eternal Day City, and Earthlings’ appearances were not particularly noteworthy. On the Bloody Plateau, one might not be able to find even one person in a thousand who had heard of Earth.

Yet, the other party not only recognized him at a glance but also mastered the Asia-Pacific Community language.

Ji Xinghuo’s amazement knew no bounds.

"The elder is so erudite!" He truly admired the alien before him and honestly replied, "I am a citizen of the Asia-Pacific Community."

"I’m just interested in the civilizations of the surrounding star domains, and I have plenty of time, so I learned your language as well," the snake-shaped Crystal Elite Clan member said indifferently, but Ji Xinghuo could tell that he was quite pleased with himself for the compliment.

"May I have the honor of knowing the elder’s great name?" Ji Xinghuo asked.

"42."

Ji Xinghuo paused, "What?"

"42 is my true name," the snake-shaped Crystal Elite Clan explained without much elaboration, "You can also call me by another name, one I gave myself, which translates to ’Radiance’ in your Asia-Pacific Community language."

"Ji Xinghuo has seen Elder Radiance."

Ji Xinghuo proactively gave his own name, sensing that this Heavenly King possessed mind-related abilities and not daring to lie.

"Hmm." Radiance nodded slightly and then asked, "It’s rare for an Earthling to come to Eternal Day City, what brings you here?"

Ji Xinghuo told the truth, "Elder, I’ve come to the Bloody Plateau for adventure, and a few days ago, I arrived near Eternal Day City. I’ve long admired this city and have always heard of this Heaven City, so I came in to take a look."

"You, a Super Mutant, dared to travel from Thousand Peak Abyss Forest to Eternal Day City; you’re quite bold," Radiance’s gaze flickered as if scanning Ji Xinghuo’s body, a look of surprise on his face, "No wonder... It’s been many years since I’ve seen such an incredibly talented young man."

Ji Xinghuo humbly replied, "You flatter me, elder."

"Heh heh..." Radiance chuckled playfully, one arm stroking his chin, "Since you don’t wish to reveal your origin, then you’re allowed to continue your disguise in Eternal Day City."

"Thank you, elder!" Ji Xinghuo’s face showed gratitude. Moving around the Bloody Plateau as a Highlander would save him many troubles.

Radiance’s hand glowed as he concentrated.

Suddenly, a crystal badge took shape in his hand, flickering with a burst of light as if information was being inputted and stored within the badge.

"What’s your Highlander name?" Radiance inquired.

"Kui Ye."

Radiance completed crafting the crystal badge and tossed it to Ji Xinghuo, saying, "This is your pass for Eternal Day City; don’t lose it."

Ji Xinghuo caught the badge, feeling it was still warm to the touch, like a heated glass shard. The hexagonal badge was only half the size of a palm and about five millimeters thick, with designs engraved on both sides—one side bore the mark of Eternal Day City, depicting a planet surrounded by seven satellites, while the other side featured a relief of Light Peak.

"Go," Radiance commanded.

"With this Eternal Day Badge, you are now an official resident."

"You can stay in Eternal Day City for a while, and if you like this city, we welcome you to become a long-term or even permanent resident."

Radiance waved his hand, signaling that Ji Xinghuo could leave.

"Yes, elder."

Ji Xinghuo donned the arm guard once again, reverting to the appearance of a highlander, placed the badge upon his chest armor, and exited the hall.

Outside, the Crystal Elite Clan guard was still waiting, and his gaze lingered noticeably upon seeing the badge on Ji Xinghuo’s chest.

"Elder Huizhu actually awarded you the Eternal Day Badge."

It was the first time he had initiated a conversation.

Realizing the significance of the Eternal Day Badge that he now carried, which was not something just anyone could receive, Ji Xinghuo replied, "I am Kui Ye from the Blood Fury Tribe. May I have the honor of knowing your name, sir?"

The guard looked at him, hesitated slightly but eventually responded, "Ming Yu."

Before Ji Xinghuo could continue, Ming Yu added, "You don’t have to get chummy with me. In Eternal Day City, as long as one does not violate the laws, the Crystal Elite Clan will not interfere with the residents’ will. Goodbye."

After speaking, he leapt onto a floating car and left.

Watching Ming Yu’s retreating figure, Ji Xinghuo felt somewhat helpless.

Touching the Eternal Day Badge on his chest, a holographic display unfolded before his eyes, offering options to zoom in, shrink, or flip through pages that were inscribed with the laws of Eternal Day City in over a dozen languages, spanning hundreds of pages—a relatively small number for a body of law.

Skimming through it, Ji Xinghuo noted several key points.

Firstly, unauthorized entry to Light Peak and any areas marked as off-limits within the city was prohibited; secondly, damaging the infrastructure of Eternal Day City was forbidden; third, infringing on the interests of others was strictly banned; any damages caused during a fight would lead to tenfold compensation, and those who refused to obey could be executed on the spot by the Crystal Elite Clan...

Impossible to finish in one sitting, Ji Xinghuo closed the display and started wandering aimlessly through the streets.

He was at the base of Light Peak, and by looking up, one could admire the summit where a forest of crystal spires stood upon the mountain, layer upon layer ascending skywards. A massive, straight beam of light shot out from the highest palace, piercing through the protective bubble and vanishing into the dark sky above.

The first law of Eternal Day City was the prohibition of unauthorized entry to Light Peak.

Although curious, Ji Xinghuo dared not transgress.

As he walked down the clean and tidy streets, he observed that the number of Eternal Day City residents was quite large, ranging between two and three million.

However, the vast majority were from alien races.

The Crystal Elite Clan, the hosts, were paradoxically the least in number; it took a long while within the electromagnetic induction to encounter a few of them.

"This is too few."

Ji Xinghuo was somewhat puzzled but felt it made sense as each of the Crystal Elite Clan members he had seen was a legendary strong player. It was likely that the total number of Crystal Elite Clan members in all of Eternal Day City was around two thousand.

That was two thousand legendary strong players!

"Terrifying!"

"This is the characteristic of the Crystal Elite Clan: a sparse population with averagely outrageous strength."

Ji Xinghuo couldn’t imagine if a race had tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of legendary members. They wouldn’t be content with one city but would have swept over the Bloody Plateau and might threaten the rule of the True Dragon Dynasty. This Star Domain would need to be renamed.

Moreover, the Crystal Elite Clan’s Ether Technology was so advanced.

Having entered the Star Realm for over seventy thousand years and still confined to the Bloody Plateau, with only one Eternal Day City, was somewhat unbelievable.

There must be another reason behind it!

As Ji Xinghuo pondered, he suddenly noticed an alien species store on the street ahead, large in scale, with all five floors dedicated to alien species trade, offering both buying and selling options. Many alien races were coming and going from the store, keeping it bustling with activity.

An electromagnetic induction sweep revealed that the shop owner was a member of the Crystal Elite Clan.

To open such a large alien species store at the foot of Light Peak indicated a strong background within Eternal Day City, likely an official enterprise of the Crystal Elite Clan.

"Let’s take a look inside."

A thought struck Ji Xinghuo, considering he had a large stock of alien species on him which he could sell at a good price if it was right.

Upon entering the store, he saw multiple holographic screens floating in the spacious hall, listing the sale and purchase prices of alien species in various languages.

Eternal Day City utilized three types of currency: Ether Crystals, True Dragon Coins, and "Crystal Elements" issued by the Crystal Elite Clan.

These currencies were exchangeable. Ji Xinghuo checked the current exchange rates: one Ether Crystal equaled forty thousand True Dragon Coins, which was roughly equivalent to 18 million Ya Yuan; meanwhile, in Eternal Day City, one Ether Crystal could be exchanged for 500,000 Crystal Elements.

Ji Xinghuo carefully examined the purchase prices of alien species and soon realized that many species fetched higher prices here than on Earth.

For instance, Basalt Body, Earth Pulse, and abilities like Earth Spur, Shock Wave, Earth Tunneling, Fossil to Sand, and so on were related to the earth element.

Those relating to "light" fetched even higher prices, being ten to a hundred times more expensive than ordinary alien species!

"I see."

Ji Xinghuo surmised the reason.

Previously, he had observed that the Crystal Elite Clan’s occupational templates weren’t as diverse as Earthlings’, with most being "Earthwalkers," "Halo Fighters," or "Gravity Warriors," and some "Mechanics."

This obviously had to do with the innate talents of the Crystal Elite Clan. Ji Xinghuo speculated that amongst them, there were surely "Crystal Light Servants" and "Optical Stringers."

It was even possible that the origins of these two professional templates were from the Crystal Elite Clan!

"Fortunately, I have a good number of earth-related alien species." Ji Xinghuo recalled the more than a thousand Stone Scythe Demons he had hunted in Peak Valley, yielding a large number of alien species, many of which were abilities constituting earthly occupational templates. Now, he could sell them at a high price.
