After saying those words, Zhang Cangsong revealed a ferocious smile. The image of Long Chen being brutally beaten by the great tree had already formed in his mind, and he eagerly awaited this outcome.

However, under his watchful gaze, Long Chen was not beaten by the great tree as he had imagined. The moment Long Chen entered the tree’s attack range and saw its branches extending toward him, he immediately changed his tactics. Long Chen dared not linger for even a moment. He glanced back at the pursuing branches and hastily sped forward. He didn’t rush to attack, choosing instead to continue maneuvering around them. He circled the great tree, and soon the dense limbs enveloped the area, forming a wall-like enclosure that trapped him inside. By this point, the great tree had extended all of its branches.

Seeing this, a cold smile touched Long Chen’s lips. The branches were difficult to handle, but he knew that if he could draw them all out, he could bypass their interference and attacks. The tree could only use its few remaining branches to harass him. Without the interference of the tangled mass, these sparse branches posed no real threat to Long Chen. He unleashed several Palm Shadows, blasting them away.

In the blink of an eye, Long Chen reached the Gold Bead without any further obstacles. The next second, its brilliant golden glow abruptly receded as smaller branches grew to envelop it. As Long Chen reached for the Gold Bead, the branches suddenly formed into sharp spikes and thrust fiercely at him! Reacting instantly, Long Chen defended himself. A golden Rune Inscription materialized just in time to block the attack.

"Suppress!" Long Chen let out a low shout and pressed his palm forward. A powerful force erupted, directly repelling the spikes. With the interference gone, Long Chen seized the Gold Bead.

Sensing its Gold Bead had been taken, the great tree seemed to fly into a rage. It began to shake violently as its massive tangle of branches rapidly retracted. Seeing this, Long Chen didn’t dare to linger and immediately made to leave. At the same time, the massive thicket of branches surged toward him at incredible speed. Alarm shot through him.

He quickly summoned and grasped the Blackwind Sword, unleashing a surge of the Power of Thunder. The mighty force blasted toward the incoming branches.

The violent collision of the two forces generated a terrifying energy ripple that spread outward. Even Zhang Cangsong, watching from a distance, had to immediately shield himself to avoid its impact.

Zhang Cangsong suddenly burst into laughter. "Hahaha! Yes! How satisfying!"

He had been worried that Long Chen might actually retrieve the Gold Bead unharmed, but it now seemed he had been overthinking. There’s no way he can withstand such a powerful force! He’s bound to end up just as wretched as I was!

Hearing this, Long Chen gave a scornful smile. He stared straight at Zhang Cangsong and voiced the other man’s intentions aloud. "You want to snatch this Gold Bead from me?!" This guy is nothing but a despicable little cheat. I know exactly what he’s thinking.

"What do you mean, *I’m* snatching *your* Gold Bead? You’re the shameless one!" Zhang Cangsong retorted righteously. "If we’re getting technical, I saw this Gold Bead first! If anyone is snatching anything, it’s you who stole my Gold Bead!"

At this, Long Chen just shook his head and smiled.

"What are you smiling at?" Zhang Cangsong demanded, his brow furrowed.

Long Chen chuckled in response. "I’ve met plenty of shameless people, but I’ve never encountered anyone as brazen as you."

Zhang Cangsong’s face darkened completely. "You bastard! How dare you speak to me like that! You’re courting death!"

The moment the words left his mouth, Zhang Cangsong channeled the Battle qi in his body, gathering a Palm Shadow in his hand and blasting it directly at Long Chen!

Long Chen paid Zhang Cangsong’s attack no mind. He simply stamped his foot.
