Supreme Dragon Lord-Chapter 327: The Treasure Pavilion on Fire!
He would never pass up any opportunity to find Chu Lingjun.
After arriving, Long Chen found a hidden spot to conceal himself, secretly spying on the situation ahead. He saw an entrance covered by a barrier. At the entrance itself, several disciples from Xuanyue Valley stood guard, remaining motionless and rigid at their posts.
"When do you think they’ll catch that guy?" one of the Xuanyue Valley disciples suddenly asked. "He really has some nerve. Not only did he kill so many of our disciples, he even killed Elder Cai Bin. He clearly has no respect for Xuanyue Valley at all."
"What good is strength?" another disciple responded. "In the end, he’s just one person. To think he can oppose our Xuanyue Valley all by himself... he’s simply courting death."
"The valley has already issued a Killing Order for him," a third disciple added. "I’m telling you, in less than a week, that guy will definitely be captured and brought back to Xuanyue Valley!"
"Heh, that ignorant fool. He can’t hope to escape Xuanyue Valley’s pursuit in this region! The Valley Master will certainly not let this matter rest after such a huge incident."
As they were chatting to pass the time, they suddenly heard a crash, which instantly put them on high alert. Their gazes shifted in unison toward the direction of the sound. It came from a patch of woods, but they couldn’t see what was happening. They cautiously approached and shouted in a deep voice, "Who’s there? Come out!"
There was no response, only the rustling of leaves.
This commotion must be from someone who’s afraid of us and trying to flee.
When they reached the spot, however, it was empty.
"Where did they go?"
"There was noise here just a second ago. How did it vanish?"
Seeing this, the disciples exchanged puzzled glances.
MEOW—
Just as their expressions turned serious, a cat’s meow suddenly rang out. A cat leaped down from a tree to the ground. Seeing this, the Xuanyue Valley disciples all breathed a collective sigh of relief.
So it was just a cat. What a false alarm.
The cat’s appearance dispelled their suspicions, so they paid the area no more mind and returned to guard the entrance.
Little did they know, during their brief absence, Long Chen had already taken the opportunity to sneak inside.
Once inside, Long Chen was slightly taken aback. This place was not a prison but the Treasure Pavilion of Xuanyue Valley.
Unwilling to give up, Long Chen activated the Divine Demon Eye and scanned the Treasure Pavilion, but Chu Lingjun was still nowhere to be seen. His brows immediately furrowed. Only now was he forced to accept the fact that Chu Lingjun had not been captured by the people of Xuanyue Valley. This was not good news for him. After all, he had already ventured deep into Xuanyue Valley for the sole purpose of rescuing Chu Lingjun, yet she wasn’t even here.
He still had no idea of her whereabouts, nor what kind of danger she might be in.
Damn you, Xuanyue Valley! If it weren’t for you, Guiyuan Academy would never have been destroyed! If it weren’t for you, Spirit Monarch wouldn’t be missing right now!
Long Chen’s eyes narrowed, a deep anger simmering within them as a sinister, cold aura began to radiate from his body. In that instant, the surrounding temperature plummeted.
"If that’s the case, then I’ll turn your Xuanyue Valley upside down!"
As his words fell, Long Chen took a step forward, and a terrifying force erupted from his body. He concentrated all this power into his fist and unleashed a punch.
A fierce wind whistled!
Space itself distorted!
BOOM!
With a deafening roar, all of Xuanyue Valley’s long-collected Cultivation Techniques and Secret Manuals were instantly obliterated into dust.
Long Chen’s rage was still boiling. He threw several more punches in succession. With each blow, the Treasure Pavilion shook violently. Treasures that Xuanyue Valley had cherished for decades were all destroyed by Long Chen.
The tremendous commotion immediately drew the attention of the Xuanyue Valley disciples guarding the entrance. However, they thought nothing of it. Their nerves were still on edge from the last scare, so they assumed it was just the cat making a racket again.
"Is someone training in the back mountains?"
"Making such a huge commotion."
"It must be Elder Wang Chong. Ever since he got back, he’s been training in the back mountains non-stop. He’s so driven, it’s like he’s on drugs or something. The whole valley can hear the racket he makes every day."
The Xuanyue Valley disciples joked among themselves, completely unconcerned about the disturbance.
"Strange, why has the sky suddenly turned red?" one of them asked curiously.
Another sniffed the air. "I think I smell something burning, too."
While the others were still clueless, one of the disciples looked up and glanced behind them. That one look nearly scared him to death. His body went rigid, and he stammered, "We’re... we’re done for..."
Seeing his reaction, the others followed his gaze.
And then, they all froze, their eyes bulging like brass bells. Before them, the Treasure Pavilion was being engulfed by spreading flames!
What is happening? The Treasure Pavilion is on fire?! Are we seeing things?!
In that brief moment of stupor, one of the disciples suddenly snapped back to his senses.
"Put out the fire! What are you all still standing there stunned for?" he shouted anxiously. "This is a catastrophe!"
Hearing his frantic shouts, the other disciples were jolted out of their daze.
"The fire!"
"Quick, put out the fire!"
"Notify everyone to get here immediately!"
The disciples immediately rushed into the Treasure Pavilion. By then, the building was already a raging inferno, billowing with thick, black smoke. The moment the disciples stepped inside, they were immediately choked by it.
Noticing them enter, Long Chen leaped up and escaped through the hole he had punched in the roof, remaining undetected.
However, just as Long Chen was about to leave, a barrier suddenly descended toward him. Seeing this, Long Chen quickly moved to block it, striking out with his palm.
THUD!
A muffled impact echoed. Long Chen was forced back a step, and the barrier faltered for a moment.
Immediately after, the barrier charged toward him once more as numerous beams of light erupted from within it. The dense barrage of light left Long Chen with no room to dodge.
