Super Zoo-Chapter 761 - 740: Miss, Please Conduct Yourself with Dignity
Ji Xiang brandished the phone in his hand at Suming with pride, "Mr. Su, we've captured them."
"That quickly?!"
Not only was Suming surprised, but so was He Baowen, who took a fresh look at the gangster before him.
The two men, who looked rustic and unpolished, had been directly encountered by Suming and He Baowen. From the intentional way they lured them to this secluded alley, to the astonishingly powerful darts thrown, and the fact that as soon as they saw He Baowen pull a gun, they turned and ran without a second thought... all these signs pointed to them being no simple characters.
Only a short while had passed—just enough time for a meal and some bandaging, no more than three hours in total—and Ji Xiang, a mere local thug, had actually caught these two?
And what's more, they were taken alive!
Even the world-famous Xiangjiang Police wouldn't dare claim such high efficiency.
"Gentlemen, there is no one I Ji Xiang can't find in Causeway Bay, not even a mouse. I can ferret them out in minutes!" Ji Xiang said with extreme confidence, then asked Suming, "How shall we deal with them? Do you want to go straight to 'planting lotuses'?"
He Baowen glared at him. Suming waved his hand and then gave a thumbs up to Ji Xiang, "Jixiang sure has his ways! Just bring them here, I do want to ask why they unjustly sought to harm me."
...
Momotaro and Liuchuan Feng turned and left the alley, arriving at Fish Market Street. Lowering their hats, they walked briskly forward, just as two young men carrying a large tank filled with fish emerged from a corner, resulting in a collision.
Instantly, the skills of both parties were put on display. Caught off guard, Momotaro and Liuchuan Feng barely staggered before steadying themselves, while the two young men fell flat on their backs, the tank toppling and spilling both water and fish all over the ground.
"Damn it!" Liuchuan Feng glared furiously; he was unharmed, but his clothes were soaked with water.
About to get angry, Momotaro tugged at him, frowning and gesturing to leave quickly to avoid further trouble.
As they attempted to leave, the surrounding people objected, several rough-looking young men surrounding them, armed with various tools from the fish market and displaying menacing expressions.
A brief scuffle ensued, with Momotaro and Liuchuan Feng quickly and efficiently laying out five gangsters before making their escape.
"Senior, one of the darts just hit that guy, I can guarantee his bone is broken. We've also fulfilled Princess Jiako's order, let's go back and report," said Liuchuan Feng once they reached the mainland.
Momotaro, older and more experienced, shook his head, "Not now. We reek of fish, it would be disrespectful to the Princess, and we could easily be tracked."
"Then what shall we do?"
"Let's circle around the city first, change clothes, and make sure we haven't left any trace behind. Then we can go back and report," said Momotaro as he waved down a taxi, speaking in a strange accent of English, "To Temple Street Clothing City."
The taxi driver glanced at the two men through the rearview mirror, nodded without a word, and started the car.
They quickly arrived at the clothing market on Temple Street, paid the fare, and got out of the taxi. Watching them enter a clothing store, the driver pulled out his phone.
"Hey, boss, it's A Jie. Just picked up a couple of guys, seem like the ones you're looking for. They reek of fish, got off at Temple Street, went into Big Chest Ping's shop..."
Soon afterward, a group of gangsters led by a middle-aged man with a thick gold chain stormed into Temple Street's A Ping Fashion Store."Understood, Big Sister," the young man known as Daozai nodded, stepped out the door, and blew a whistle. From the surrounding clothing stores, seven or eight young people who also appeared to be store employees rushed out, each with a defiant look on their faces.
"Brother Huoshan, these are my brothers. I've seen those two people before; I'll take you to them," Daozai said.
"Alright, catch them, and I'll introduce you to Brother Ji Xiang! Let's go!"
The group swelled, and more than twenty people began an imposing search through Temple Street.
Daozai and Big Chest Ping were quite the tyrants in Temple Street and had some notoriety. Many young punks strolling the street, seeing this scene, eagerly came up to ask, "Wow, Brother Daozai, what's going on? Need a hand...?"
The more people there were, the greater their strength. No matter how the two Japanese ninjas disguised themselves and kept a low profile, their presence in the old streets of Xiangjiang was still very conspicuous, and it didn't take long to track their general direction.
Lijing Grand Hotel.
Xiangjiang has many hotels, but there's only one Lijing Hotel, which is of four-star standard. However, there are dozens of establishments called 'Lijing Grand Hotel,' and prefixing the name with 'Grand' drops its class by several notches.
An old and rundown residential building towered above, its exterior walls festooned with myriad neon signs—names like Jinyuan Finance Company, Happy City Hourly House, and finger pressure massage… The largest sign was for the Lijing Hotel, inviting guests to the third floor.
"Senior, this place, it seems to be an entertainment venue, right?" Liuchuan Feng asked, puzzled.
"The more such a place is a mix of dragons and snakes, the less likely it is to attract police attention. Besides, we're just resting for a few hours before we go back."
The two climbed up to the third floor to Lijing Hotel, where a nose-picking uncle led them to a room available on an hourly basis.
"Gentlemen, would you like some company? We've got a new girl from Beigu, guaranteed to be energetic!" the uncle asked, leaning against a wall, picking his nose.
"No, thank you, we're just going to sleep for a bit then leave," Momotaro responded with a slight bow.
"Picky, goddamn gays, just make sure not to mess the sheets with your crap!" The uncle, realizing there was no extra money to be made, cursed and turned to leave.
Momotaro closed the door behind him, his eyes suddenly sharp, and he quickly scanned the room. He closed the blinds and stared through the slits at the street outside for a while before nodding in satisfaction.
"Senior, isn't this a bit over the top? I've been very vigilant along the way, and nobody has followed us," Liuchuan Feng remarked, somewhat dismissively.
Among the compulsory skills for a ninja, tracking and counter-tracking were essential, and he was one hundred percent confident that had anyone been following them, he would have noticed.
"Times have changed, don't underestimate the Xiangjiang Police. I hear there's a 'paparazzi squad' in the police force with very strong tracking abilities, well-coordinated and explicitly tasked with tracking suspects," Momotaro said seriously. "The woman we saw earlier is a mid-level police officer. The effectiveness of the Xiangjiang Police far exceeds that of Japan's Metropolitan Police Department; we cannot afford to take them lightly and mix them up with the lackeys in the Cabinet."
"Senpai, I stand corrected!" Although proud, Liuchuan Feng took tradition seriously and, despite his skepticism, he responded respectfully to his senior's warning.
"Alright, let's take a short rest. We'll meet up with Princess Jiako after dark."
Both lay on the bed fully clothed, their eyes lightly closed, breathing slowly and evenly, as if they had fallen into a deep sleep.
About an hour had passed when a sudden knock came at the door.
The two ninjas leaped up from the bed like startled leopards at the sound, with Momotaro signaling with his eyes. Liuchuan Feng nodded in understanding, quietly gripped a small katana, and moved to the side of the wall to open the door.
"Hey boss, you want some service?"
Standing outside was a young woman in revealing clothing, heavily made up, her breath reeking of tobacco.
As she spoke, she sauntered closer with an air of impudence, attempting to wrap her arms around Liuchuan Feng's waist, giggling, "Wow, the boss is so handsome, looks a lot like Eddie Peng..."
Liuchuan Feng's handsome face darkened slightly as he stepped back to avoid the hug, and in his accented Mandarin, he said, "Please have some self-respect, Miss!"
