Super Zoo-Chapter 606 601: Everybody Dies after a Disagreement
Crack...
A faint crisp sound, yet it whipped each person's heart like a cruel lash.
The great fox bats in the sky went out en masse at dusk; the mere blood volume of a deer could only attract a small part of them, while the remaining majority flew chaotically in the distant woods hunting. But as Su Lijun's neck spurted blood furiously, it drew all the nearby fox bats at once. The branches, already overwhelmed, finally broke under the relentless assault of the incoming fox bats.
Time seemed to pause for a moment.
Like in slow motion, one side of the bat-catching net gradually fell.
Immediately following, the flood of bats surged in like a black tornado.
Flap flap flap, the sound of beating wings filled the air, countless great fox bats ran rampant in the confined space.
In the blink of an eye, several great fox bats already clung to the unlucky deer, biting down ferociously before Suming's spiritual power could even protect it; Su Lijun, leaning against the tree on the ground, was almost instantly covered by a layer of fox bats that frenziedly devoured his corpse.
Misery born of one's own doing is inescapable; the nets that were used to protect from the bat attacks on the other three sides and the top, now became a prison instead.
Had the other sides not been netted, most bats would have flown away after rushing in, with a few remaining attracted to Su Lijun's corpse, allowing the others to escape with torches.
But now, more fox bats kept streaming in through the gap, one after another. The people inside couldn't run out, and the bats that surged in couldn't find an exit. With wide open mouths and blood-red eyes, they fiercely sought their next prey.
Suming's vision darkened as he was abruptly knocked down by several fox bats; he couldn't see what was happening around him, and immediately felt a slight pain on his neck.
"Damn, they're biting at my head!"
The moment he felt the pain, Suming unleashed his spiritual power.
What a joke; if even he were bitten by the fox bats after all this time, it would all be for nothing.
His spiritual power instantly subdued the bats nearby, a natural majesty surged forth, something akin to the Overlord's Aura. In the presence of Suming's spiritual power, all animals were inferior. Dozens of great fox bats which were on him as if scalded by boiling water, shrieked and scrambled away. The unfortunate one that got its teeth on his skin was grabbed by the throat and violently thrown to the ground by Suming.
Just as he was about to extend his spiritual power to assist Su Meng, a 'ho ho ho' roar echoed from beside him.
Suming turned to look and was absolutely stupefied... Was this not a bit too fierce!
Like a Berserker from video games, Su Meng held a club in one hand and spun his body wildly on the spot, becoming a human windmill. All the bats that neared him were sent flying by the tremendous centrifugal force; the unfortunate ones hit by the two huge clubs in his hands immediately suffered broken bones and tendons.
This was probably a unique living skill previously honed in the mountains, used to fend off aerial assaults from flying creatures... With his exaggerated spinning speed, if he had held larger weapons in his hands, the airflow generated would have been enough to keep small flying creatures such as mosquitoes and wasps from approaching.
However, as there were simply too many fox bats and Su Meng wasn't a real Berserker, he couldn't completely shield himself. Seeing that he was about to be bitten, Suming hurriedly diverted a stream of his spiritual power to disperse the fox bats around Su Meng.
"It's me! Don't hit!" Suming shouted, crouching down and darting beside Su Meng.
His club stopped less than five centimeters from Suming's shoulder, the wind from the swing causing his face to tingle with pain.
"Be... careful..." Su Meng spat out stiffly.
Suming nodded, his spiritual power forming a small shield protecting the two of them. Yet, he suddenly felt a bit melancholy; damn it, after following him for so long without learning to speak, how did he manage to learn after hanging out with Hu for just two months?
Be careful, be careful... Looks like this kid often says this phrase.
But the others weren't so lucky. As Suming saved Su Meng, Antonio and two bodyguards had already been tackled to the ground by a swarm of vampire bats, howling madly and twisting their bodies in an attempt to escape, which only attracted more bats. These 'bully the weak, fear the strong' bloodthirsty creatures, after being chased away by Suming, immediately switched their target.
Though the two bodyguards were formidable, that was only in comparison to humans. Under the relentless attack of countless fearless vampire bats, the two professional bodyguards had no power to fight back, rolling on the ground covered with bats and howling in madness.
Suming was about to use his spiritual power to save them but hesitated at the last moment.
Just now, in front of him, the two bodyguards had grievously injured Su Lijun without any hesitation. It was also a show of force against him, a warning that if he didn't behave, they could just as easily take him down.
Having witnessed the two bodyguards harming someone today, if he didn't report it to the police, he would be giving Antonio a big lever over him, leaving him with no choice but to cooperate or turn against him completely.
Moreover, judging by the skills of those two, they had definitely killed before, and Antonio, their employer, must not be of kind nature either.
All of Suming's businesses were legitimate and aboveboard. Through hard work, he had finally achieved the scale he had today. If he were to cooperate with them, stepping into the mud would mean big trouble in the future.
In the blink of an eye, or perhaps just two or three seconds of hesitation in Suming's mind, Antonio and the two bodyguards had been completely enveloped by the vampire bats, layer upon layer on top of them, making them look like black colossal silkworm cocoons. The 'cocoons' kept emitting heart-wrenching screams and trembled violently.
A glinting dagger emerged from the giant black cocoon puncturing a big hole, and several bats shrieked and flew away. However, new bats immediately rushed in, filling the gap.
"Ho ho!" Su Meng picked up a torch from the ground, held it before Suming, and the two of them crouched under a small awning, quietly watching everything unfold.
About half a minute later, the three cocoons finally stopped moving, and the bats perched atop began to fly away one by one.
The four people on the ground were dead beyond dead, their exposed muscles were chewed to shreds, and their wounds were pale—the blood had been drained completely. It seemed that the bats not only drank blood but also ate flesh. The stocky pectoral muscles of the two bodyguards had been gnawed flat, revealing the white bones beneath; 36D bras would no longer be within their reach.
What the hell... on the way here, he had contemplated how to best outsmart each other, and in the blink of an eye, the others had mysteriously all dropped dead...
"That's what you get for flaunting in tight vests and pretending to be big-chested," Suming rolled his eyes.
"Everyone freeze!"
Spiritual power formed a vast net that covered all the nearby vampire bats.

Thought you could just run away after feeding? No such luck.
Though the vampire bats were ferocious bloodsuckers, they had no ability to resist under the influence of spiritual power. Instead, upon contact with the spiritual power, Suming immediately felt all the bats becoming submissive, like animals in a pack before their Clan Leader.
"Huh?" Suming blinked in surprise. This was a new experience for him.
Previously, using spiritual power to suppress others, unfamiliar animals would still show some resistance. The more ferocious the creature, the stronger the resistance. It took Suming over a week to subdue those crocodile eels in the past.
But the vampire bats were extremely obedient, showing not a hint of rebellious intent, which was a complete contrast to the savagery they had displayed just moments before.
One by one, the vampire bats folded their wings around their bodies and hung docilely on nearby branches in rows, their red eyes fixed on Suming. They looked quite frightening.
"Next thing you know, there won't be a puff of blue smoke with a bunch of pale, good-looking men and women appearing, right?" Suming thought uneasily.
