Super Spender-Chapter 544 - 538: Forcing You to Bow Down
Chapter 544: Chapter 538: Forcing You to Bow Down
His health was back to normal, especially after Finn Lewis mentioned that he could even have a solution to extend human lifespan, Hanson Lee seemed to regain his past ambitions and determination. He did not exclude Graceful Lee from dealing with these matters.
“Dad, why don’t we explain the situation? If Finn thins we’re behind this incident, it won’t look good.” Graceful Lee pondered before speaking. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
No matter how slow, Graceful Lee now understood that Finn was their desired collaborator. As Hanson Lee had mentioned before, they need to cooperate closely with Finn despite what happened. Now that he had personally witnessed the miracles happening to his father, Graceful Lee held greater respect for his father’s vision and courage, which was probably one of the reasons Hanson Lee had managed to develop the planet to its current state.
“No need for explanations. If Mr. Finn can detect all listening devices in the room, including those made with the latest materials to evade scanning, it proves that Mr. Finn’s intelligence isn’t just routine checks. He probably knew about this in advance.” Hanson Lee sneered while talking.
“This…” Graceful Lee looked surprised. The matter was arranged by the Special Service Agency, and they knew about it because the Lee family had penetrated all aspects of Southland Country. There were so many people associated with the Lee family and the planetary consortium. It’s not an exaggeration to say that nearly two-thirds of the Southland officials had indescribable connections with the planetary group.
Even places like the Special Service Agency were no exception, hence they knew about the situation beforehand. But how could Finn possibly be aware of this? Although Hanson Lee also thought this was surprising, he would rather believe that Finn had prior knowledge, otherwise Finn wouldn’t have gone without making a single call till now. Keep in mind, even though Finn sought out this hotel after departing from their convoy, it is still one of the hotels under the planetary group!
However, Finn hadn’t made a single call, meaning he knows who placed these devices. Hanson Lee very much understood what this entailed.
Right now in the hotel, Finn was listening to Olivia Thatcher’s report, “Currently, 85% of Southland Country’s oil imports come from a few countries in eastern Flame Nation, mostly from Tebonia and some from Rhea Kingdom. Other portions of oil imports come from Liga State in the Americas and Roberts Kingdom. Also, about 20% of the oil reserves come from the international oil futures market.” Olivia Thatcher quickly reported her findings.
Finn had previously told Hanson Lee that although the planetary consortium might be powerful, Southland Country was weak. This wasn’t a boast. They could just strangle Southland Country purely by cutting off its oil supply, causing its economy to instantly collapse. Southland Country, a nation that relies completely on imported oil, imports approximately 900 million to a billion barrels each year. Over 85% of that comes from oilfields in the eastern region of Flame Nation.
“Send Jay Sommer to Flame Nation’s east. Just tell Tebonia and the other countries to make the oil export to Southland Country problematic. No need to delay for too long, just let them know the result would be alright. Delay the delivery for over three months.” Finn Lee chuckled before speaking, “Our side will pay the penalty.”
“Yes, Young Master.” Olivia Thatcher promptly replied.
“Raise the price of international oil futures to over 80 Federal coins on the markets. Also, target several accounts owned by Southland officials on the oil futures market.” Finn casually added.
The Southland government playing with oil futures on the market was not to make money. Unless there was a particularly profitable opportunity, they would tend to place orders at a cheap position and then require physical delivery. That is, they demand the oil for the delivery of these future contracts. This is because the oil for physical delivery in the futures market is usually much lower than the oil supply contract signed at a national level.
A good example is the oil price slump caused by Finn before. The current international oil price stands around 55 Federal coins per barrel. However, when Southland Country signed long-term supply contracts with countries like Tebonia, the oil price wasn’t at this level. It was at least over 90 Federal coins. Plus, these contracts were signed for a duration of at least 10 years. Hence if they can buy on the futures market, the Southland government naturally wouldn’t pass up the opportunity.
“Yes, Young Master!” Olivia responded.
The negotiations with SP Air are in their final stages. Now it can be said that SP Air is basically Finn’s airline. Hence Jay Sommer heading to Tebonia wasn’t a worry, they could just arrange a flight tonight.
Along with Finn’s orders, Olivia started stirring up the still daylit LD international oil futures market. Even though using these controlled funds consumed points, Finn was not bothered about losing points for now. All he needed to do was achieve his aim. With robust funds as backing, Olivia quickly started leveraging the international oil futures market with a leverage ratio of 1:100 decisively.
If anyone else dared to use such high leverage, it would spell their doom because higher leverage implied being able to tolerate smaller price fluctuations. Of course, there’s another possibility. That is, when you have an immense amount of wealth in hand. For instance, Finn could mobilize funds amounting to trillions of Federal coins! In futures, a single lot only required 10% margin. That means that Finn could easily place orders for oil worth 100 federal coins with just a maximum of 10% margin.
How many lots can Finn create with the funds he owns? When Olivia started to act, almost all the buy orders in the entire oil market were immediately killed within an hour, causing instantaneous transactions! With the slaughter of buy orders, the oil price was naturally on the rise. Those foundations that were mainly involved with long positions saw this situation, their eyes lit up, and they quickly began to create long positions.
Most organizations that deliberately stoked the market were established by countries in eastern Flame Nation. The economic conditions of these countries highly influenced the oil price. They were extremely relevant to each other. Hence they naturally hoped that the higher the oil price, the better. This would naturally yield more money for their economy.
Now, someone was helping to raise the oil price. Why wouldn’t this suit them? These organizations instinctively followed to tug the international oil price. However, most people were still observing because no one knew how long this was going to continue. Maybe it’s some big wigs playing around in the oil market, waiting to harvest.
