Super Soldier in Campus-Chapter 760 - 765 The Legendary Tea Leaf_1
After much effort, Lin Feng finally brought Ning Aoxue and Su Zi to the observation restaurant on the tenth floor of Xinhai International Building. He also managed to bring along Liu Haidong as a human safety charm, a truly arduous feat.
"Wow, Aoxue, look! The view from this observation restaurant is amazing!" Su Zi exclaimed as she entered, unable to contain her excitement. The observation restaurant in Xinhai International indeed offered an excellent panorama. The scenery from each of the four directions was unique: one side provided a sweeping view of the bustling Jiangzhou City, while another showcased the beauty of both banks of the Qing River. The landscape was truly magnificent.
"Hmm... I see..." In contrast to Su Zi’s excitement, Ning Aoxue remained quite calm. In fact, what was on her mind was the relationship between Lin Feng and Liu Haidong. Why did Liu Haidong seem a little afraid of him, yet also appear to want to curry favor with him?
Lin Feng squinted slightly, his gaze sweeping across the empty observation restaurant. He found a large table by the window, walked over, and gestured for Liu Haidong to sit down first.
The observation restaurant had been exclusively booked by Xu Liang. The waitresses, seeing Lin Feng’s group arrive, naturally assumed they were friends of Xu Liang. Therefore, after Lin Feng’s group was seated, they didn’t question it and diligently came forward to serve them.
"What would you like to drink, tea or alcoholic beverages?"
The waitresses in the observation restaurant were all beautiful. Furthermore, Xu Liang had specifically requested that only the most outstanding ones remain to serve, so the waitress who approached Lin Feng’s table was absolutely top-tier.
The waitress had a shy, delicately made-up face, with gracefully curved brows, bright eyes, pearly teeth, and a heartwarming smile. She immediately caught Liu Haidong’s attention.
Liu Haidong, although approaching fifty, had always been a man of passionate nature. He had intentionally avoided looking at Su Zi and Ning Aoxue. This wasn’t because they weren’t beautiful; rather, as an experienced man, Liu Haidong knew who he should and shouldn’t look at. Not wanting to offend Lin Feng, he purposely refrained from staring at them.
Now, Liu Haidong figured this pretty waitress probably had no connection to Lin Feng, so he allowed himself to appreciate her beauty to his heart’s content.
"AHEM... Miss, what’s the best tea you have here?" Liu Haidong asked the waitress earnestly, a grin playing on his lips.
Observing Liu Haidong’s expression, Lin Feng knew this seemingly righteous old police officer wasn’t as straight-laced as he appeared. But considering Liu Haidong’s status, he wouldn’t actually try any tricks on a mere waitress, would he? Besides, at his age, even if he wanted to get up to mischief, it’s questionable whether he still possessed the ability! After silently criticizing Liu Haidong for a moment, Lin Feng finally smiled and watched him chat with the waitress.
"Tea? We have quite a selection of fine teas here, sir," the waitress replied, having a favorable impression of Liu Haidong. She cheerfully listed them, "We have West Lake Dragon Well, Huangshan Maofeng, Tie Guan Yin, Dongting Biluochun, Xinyang Maojian... Which type do you prefer?" She had reeled off practically all of China’s top ten famous teas.
"Liang Wanling... so that’s your lovely name," Liu Haidong suddenly beamed after glancing at the name tag on the waitress’s chest. "Miss Liang, I once heard about a very special kind of tea. Before picking, young maidens must first bathe. The water must be drawn from mountain streams. After disrobing, they enter the water, which is infused with osmanthus, galbanum, broom flowers, lily, lavender, and other spices. Only after being steeped in the floral aroma and steam for half an hour do they begin to pick the tea. This picking is accompanied by the gentle, slow melodies of Jiangnan silk music. The tea buds must be transparent; those holding dew are considered supreme. The tea-picking maidens wear sheer cicada-wing silk, without makeup, exuding their natural youthful fragrance. They use their sweet, cherry-like lips to gently touch the tender, pale-yellow buds, only then plucking them... The picked tea is then dried in a dimly lit room where high-quality sandalwood incense burns. Two hours later, the buds are placed upon the maidens’ bodies and gently rubbed until their skin flushes and they glisten with fragrant perspiration. In this way, the delicate scent of the tea buds melds perfectly with the maidens’ natural body fragrance... Tea obtained through such a process is the absolute finest... Miss Liang, do you happen to know what kind of tea that is?"
Initially, when Liu Haidong was praising her name, waitress Liang Wanling had simply responded with a polite smile. But as he recounted the sensuous and rather decadent tale, her face flushed bright red.
Such a tea-picking method didn’t exist in China; even the ancient processes for harvesting tea for the emperor weren’t nearly this elaborate.
Ning Aoxue and Su Zi couldn’t help but exchange a glance. If they hadn’t witnessed it themselves, they would never have believed that the seemingly dignified Liu Haidong would openly tease such a young girl in their presence.
Liang Wanling instantly realized that this older man, old enough to be her father, was intentionally flirting with her. However, she had encountered many such men in her line of work. She could only maintain her smile and reply, "I’m sorry, sir. I’ve never heard of such a tea, so I can’t answer your question. However, I have heard about a sparrow’s tongue tea from Xinyang Maojian, which requires young girls to pick the tea leaves with their lips. But our restaurant doesn’t stock that particular tea either."
Sensing the distinct chill in Liang Wanling’s tone, Liu Haidong realized she clearly wasn’t interested in him, and his face grew a little awkward. "Since you’ve never heard of it, then never mind. Just fetch us a pot of Top-grade Tie Guan Yin."
In truth, Liu Haidong wasn’t a lecherous fiend. Especially with a fierce wife at home, he merely enjoyed some verbal sparring with pretty women. It was a common failing among many men, not a particularly heinous sin.
Unfortunately, Liang Wanling’s service skills weren’t very polished yet. Realizing Liu Haidong had deliberately flirted with her, her attitude grew noticeably colder. After noting down his tea order, her eyes flickered towards Su Zi and Ning Aoxue at the table. Lin Feng didn’t look like an honest person either, so she ignored him completely.
"What would you ladies like to eat?" Liang Wanling asked, turning to Su Zi and Ning Aoxue with a radiant smile. She had been feeling quite pleased with herself, but when she got a clear look at Su Zi and Ning Aoxue’s appearances, her smile instantly froze.
As the saying goes, not recognizing quality isn’t what’s scary; it’s the comparison that is. Liang Wanling had always been confident in her own looks—Liu Haidong’s flirtation was the best proof of that. However, when she saw Ning Aoxue and Su Zi, she was completely flabbergasted.
Was that old geezer blind or something? With two beauties like that sitting right beside him, he didn’t try to hit on them, but came to harass me instead?
