Chapter 386: Chapter 386 Rainbow Heart Lotus_1

Su Chengyu could not maintain Sword Flight for an extended period of time. After allowing Xu Nanzhi to experience it once, they returned to the seaside.

"Having been with you, I’ve experienced more joy than many would in their entire lives. I would die without regrets now," Xu Nanzhi proclaimed, full of happiness.

Soothingly, Su Chengyu brushed through her loose hair, "Don’t say such things. We still have many days ahead of us, and no problems we can’t solve."

As they walked along the beach to the parking lot, they encountered a peculiarly dressed elderly man.

The elder was dressed in a Daoist robe, wearing a Daoist hat on his head, and a pair of cloth shoes. This kind of attire was indeed rare in modern society.

The Daoist elder sat on the ground, by the side a staff stood, on which was written "Divine Calculation". He looked a bit down and out like a vagabond fortuneteller, in front of him was a scattering of small change.

As Su Chengyu and Xu Nanzhi passed by, the elder opened his eyes and said, "Would you two like your fortunes told? I possess divine calculations, and can predict the future."

Xu Nanzhi waved her hand and said: "No need."

She then took out a few bills from her bag and placed them before the old Daoist.

"This lady has a kind-hearted nature, and we share a fate. Allow me to calculate a hexagram for you." The old Daoist offered.

"Thank you, but really, no need," Xu Nanzhi politely refused, smiling.

Su Chengyu didn’t pay the old, vagabond Daoist much attention. Most of these wandering fortunetellers didn’t have real abilities. He continued towards the parking lot with Xu Nanzhi.

"This lady has an innate divine frame and divine bone, which is rare. Unfortunately, such divine power is too strong for a mortal body to contain. I fear her life won’t last long," the Daoist elder asserted.

At these words, Su Chengyu stopped in his tracks. He was also taken aback at how Xu Nanzhi’s mystical attributes, which even he hadn’t discerned and only learned about through Little White’s guidance, had been discerned by this elder at a glance.

Su Chengyu immediately turned around and clasped his hands, greeting, "So, it turns out you are a great master. Please pardon my disrespect."

"I wouldn’t say I’m a great master. I have merely lived longer and seen more than most. Thus, my old eyes can see things others cannot," the Daoist elder responded humbly yet proudly.

"Since you are so learned and experienced, would you happen to have a solution? I seek your guidance," Su Chengyu respectfully asked.

He had used his Divine Sense to scan the old Daoist inconspicuously just now, only to find that the elder was like a deep, calm well, totally undetectable.

Su Chengyu was sure that this old Daoist was a top-notch master, one who had returned to his pure nature.

The elderly man stood and said: "This is not the right place."

"Then, please follow me," hurriedly offered Su Chengyu.

The Daoist elder leisurely folded his staff and picked up the change, putting it into his pocket. He started leading the way.

"He said I possess an innate divine frame and divine bone, what does that mean?" Xu Nanzhi asked.

"I’ll explain it to you later," Su Chengyu promised.

The elderly Daoist got into Su Chengyu’s vehicle and was promptly escorted back to their first villa. Once inside the courtyard, he commented, "The Formation here is a bit too simple, it can’t fend off a real master. But given your current level, it’s already commendable to be able to set up such a Formation."

"You flatter me."

Not surprised that this real expert could see through the Formation he’d set up, Su Chengyu acknowledged evaluatively; after all, the Daoist could discern Xu Nanzhi’s inherited divine frame and divine bone, so how could his Formation possibly escape the elder’s notice?

Su Chengyu invited the elder into his study, while Xu Nanzhi personally served tea nearby.

"Excellent skills," the Daoist elder took a sip of tea and praised.

"Thank you for your compliment, sir," Xu Nanzhi replied, sitting down next to them.

"The authorities have expressly banned the domestication of demons, you are rather bold to keep two God Beasts in your home. It’s a pity their powers are too weak to be of any significance; one of them has a feeble Primordial Spirit and probably won’t last long."

Upon hearing this, Su Chengyu was even more impressed with the elder’s sharp observations of his household.

"Your words are indeed enlightening, but in my opinion, demons are not necessarily wicked. Among humans, there are good and evil; likewise, among demons, there are good and evil too. At least these pets of mine are not evil. They are good creatures, full of affection and righteousness," Su Chengyu replied.

The Daoist elder nodded slightly while savoring the aromatic tea.

"Actually, I came here for you." The Daoist elder placed down his teacup and spoke.

"Me?" Su Chengyu was momentarily stunned.

The Daoist elder pointed towards Su Chengyu’s chest. He made a motion and the jade-green piece that had been lurking in his chest flew out immediately, landing in the elder’s hand.

"A jade-green fragment?" Su Chengyu was startled.

The Daoist elder nodded slightly, "Do you know its origins?"

"I don’t know! I acquired it through sheer luck, and it has also saved me once. During my catastrophic trial, my Dao Heart was unstable, and I was afflicted by inner demons. I nearly perished but this piece of jade-green fragment stabilized my Dao Heart at the last moment, thus I was able to successfully triumph over the tribulation," Su Chengyu explained.

"This jade-green fragment is a piece of the Rainbow Heart Lotus, which has seven petals and breaks into seven fragments. You possessing one of them is a great fortune and opportunity. But, the Rainbow Heart Lotus is a divine artifact created by the heavens themselves, and without the destined one, even if one obtains it, they won’t be able to make it recognize them as the master."

The Daoist elder pointed to the crux of the issue.

"For hundreds of years, I have traveled the world, searching for all the fragments to recreate this divine artifact. Now, the only fragment I lack is yours," the Daoist elder revealed.

"I see! Since this divine artifact belongs to you, I should return it to you. However, I have a request. I hope you can help," Su Chengyu said.

"State your request. I can promise you anything," said the elder.

"Her name is Xu Nanzhi, and she is my woman! You’ve also seen that she was born with a divine frame and divine bone and her life may not be long. My bitterness is my inability to find a solution. If you could save her life, I would be forever grateful and ready to pay any price," Su Chengyu said sincerely.

The Daoist elder stroked his beard and laughed: "That’s a simple matter. An innate divine bone and divine frame indeed are rare and extremely difficult to resolve, but I happen to have a solution. After you return the Green Lotus Fragment to me, I’ll recreate the Rainbow Heart Lotus which will solve her condition. But she must come with me. The repairing of Rainbow Heart Lotus takes time, too."

Su Chengyu, upon hearing this, experienced an indescribable joy and relief.

He had always been most concerned about Xu Nanzhi’s health. That it could be resolved was the greatest joy.

"That’s fantastic! Nanzhi, you’re saved," Su Chengyu burst out excitedly.

Xu Nanzhi was naturally overjoyed. Although she had prepared herself for anything, who would welcome death if survival was possible, especially now that she could stay with Su Chengyu?

"Thank you, elder," Xu Nanzhi quickly bowed to thank the Daoist elder.

The Daoist elder waved his hand: "No need for formalities. Everything is meant to be. Release your connection to the Green Lotus Fragment and return it to me."

"Very well!"

Su Chengyu took the Green Lotus Fragment without any hesitation. But just then, a voice suddenly echoed in Su Chengyu’s mind.

"My dear friend, absolutely not!"
