Chapter 328 -174: Armored Monster_2

The bizarre cylinder shot a volley of bullets that sent Yan Fei flying before quickly pivoting to take aim at him again. Despite his great strength, Yan Fei had not broken through the human limit nor had he gained the elusive power of the divine, and thus naturally could not withstand the attack of a 30-millimeter armor-piercing round. Realizing the cylinder was targeting him again, Yan Fei immediately rolled away to the corner of the corridor outside the hall, hiding himself from view.

The Armored Monster forced Yan Fei to retreat, then its drill bit continued to rotate outwards. As its body mostly emerged from the stone wall, it revealed itself to be similar to a Submarine in form, but with two huge tracks underneath. Driven by the massive tracks with the sturdy Drill Bit continuously boring into the earth, this gigantic thing could actually traverse underground.

Yan Fei had read a science magazine before that said some countries were researching a new type of Weapon, a kind of Armored Monster capable of underground traversal, silently infiltrating behind enemy lines and then wreaking havoc. This completely new type of Weapon was referred to by Researchers as a ‘Subterranean Submarine’.

Yan Fei had originally thought that such Subterranean Submarines were purely a laboratory fantasy and were far from being realized anytime soon, but there he was, witnessing one with his own eyes. Once the Submarine had drilled most of its body out of the stone wall, it stopped moving forward. A metal door beside it flung open, and two people wearing full Armor emerged. Then the Submarine’s belly lights turned on, illuminating the interior of the hall as if it were daylight.

The two Armored Men had just landed on the ground and had not yet had a chance to make any move when Yan Fei, who had been hiding around the corner in the outer corridor, suddenly appeared. But this time, Yan Fei was far from disheveled; he was shouldering an RPG rocket launcher, aiming at the Submarine lodged in the stone wall, and as he pulled the trigger, a rocket flew out, heading straight for the Submarine.

The Submarine had not expected Yan Fei to carry such a bulky PRG rocket launcher, so it had taken the risk of stopping here to unload personnel, which now put it in an awkward situation. In its current state, it could not dodge the rocket.

The Submarine’s front Drill Bit was extremely hard, and a rocket might not necessarily penetrate it, so Yan Fei’s aim was the side door of the Submarine that had just opened. The rocket quickly flew into the Submarine’s side door and exploded inside, destroying the exceptionally advanced Submarine completely. The explosion triggered a chain of Explosive Disintegrations in the ammunition on board the Submarine, causing violent consecutive explosions within the tunnel it had drilled, which quickly began to enlarge.

The fierce explosions cracked the nearby underground structure, creating a massive hole through which torrents of water gushed. The earlier Explosive Disintegration had inadvertently breached the Seine River’s channel, causing the river’s water to flow madly into the Louvre Museum’s underground structures.

Yan Fei was stunned, not expecting an RPG rocket’s explosion to trigger such a catastrophic chain reaction. But he quickly recovered, striding forward to seize the rusty disc. Unexpectedly, the two Armored Men were as swift; upon seeing the Submarine destroyed, they did not hesitate to rush toward the rusty disc. From the actions of these two Armored Men, it was clear they shared Yan Fei’s goal: to obtain the rusty disc.

Yan Fei had thought his speed was already fast enough, but the two Armored Men were no slower; they reached the rusty disc practically at the same time. With force, Yan Fei threw the rocket launcher still on his shoulder, hitting one of the Armored Men. The Armored Man, hit by the rocket launcher, swayed and then toppled to the ground, while the other Armored Man ignored his companion and reached first for the rusty disc.

With a roar of anger, Yan Fei suddenly accelerated, also reaching for the rusty disc. Yan Fei and the Armored Man both grabbed the rusty disc at the same time, and just then, a “snap” sound echoed in the room, and the lights grew brighter. It turned out that after the Louvre’s power had been cut, the backup Power Supply finally activated, restoring light.

Yan Fei looked at the Armored Man in front of him, who was wearing ancient Armor from head to toe, with a helmet that only revealed his eyes, looking as if a Warrior from Ancient Times had suddenly appeared in the modern day. Yet their mode of appearance was rather unique, arriving on the most modern Subterranean Submarine. This blend of tradition and modernity made for a very eerie sight.

And the Armored Man, too, saw Yan Fei’s true face. However, Yan Fei still looked like a two-meter-tall giant, with a ghastly ghost mask on his face. Suddenly encountering such a terrifying masked giant in the underground of an ancient building was an immense shock to the Armored Man.

After the light came on, both sides clearly saw the horrid visage of their enemy, and shock filled their hearts. However, they quickly reacted, putting strength in their hands, each eager to seize the rusted disk. Neither gave way, one hand attempting to wrench the disk away, while the other hand went for a forceful clash, only to discover the other’s strength was like a surging tsunami, terrifyingly powerful.

Yan Fei originally thought his current strength was formidable, and it was improbable to encounter anyone in the world with greater power than an Expert at the Peak of the Innate Realm. Unbeknownst to him, this Armored Man whose face was unclear had such immense strength that a single blow caused his body to go numb, nearly making him lose his grip on the rusted disk.

What Yan Fei didn’t realize was that the Armored Man was even more shaken. He had been at the Peak of Innate Realm for many years, and particularly in recent years, he had slowly begun to uncover some mysteries of the Divine Realm, granting him some unique abilities, and so his strength was much greater than that of an ordinary Expert at Innate Realm. To his surprise, the power of this giant with a ghost mask was no less than his own, sending shockwaves that caused his blood to roil, nearly spitting out a mouthful of fresh blood.

The two were evenly matched in a clash of palms, leaving them internally shocked. However, the rusted disk was an Item both sides were desperate to obtain, and neither could afford to let go. So, they once again put forth their strength, ready to clash with another palm. At that moment, another Armored Man whom Yan Fei had knocked down with an RPG rocket launcher climbed up; with a broad Long Sword in hand, he swung it towards Yan Fei. Yan Fei, now facing enemies on both fronts, found himself in extreme danger.

However, Yan Fei was battle-hardened and experienced; he did not panic. Clutching the rusted disk firmly in one hand, he suddenly switched the direction of his attack with the other. Instead of clashing head-on with the Armored Man, he struck the man’s chest. His palm strike was no ordinary hit; it pierced through the Armored Man’s chest armor with one blow, then continued through to his chest, inflicting tremendous damage upon the Armored Man.

Though Yan Fei had managed to severely injure the Armored Man in an instant, the Armored Man’s return strike hit Yan Fei squarely in the chest. The horrifying force surged out, nearly breaking all of Yan Fei’s ribs and causing him immense injury.

In a single exchange of blows, both men were wounded, a true case of mutual destruction. This was intentional on Yan Fei’s part; otherwise, given the Armored Man’s strength and the fact that this confrontation was occurring underground where Drones could not engage, it would’ve been tough for Yan Fei to defeat the Armored Man quickly. If the other Armored Man joined the fray, Yan Fei would definitely not be able to take the rusted disk tonight. Therefore, he resorted to a tactic that produced mutual destruction. The Armored Man did not expect Yan Fei to be as ruthless to himself as he was to his enemy, and one mistake led to him being seriously injured by Yan Fei.

Although Yan Fei was seriously wounded, he had prepared for this. Seizing the rusted disk with force, he managed to take it from the hands of the psychologically shaken and severely injured Armored Man.

As soon as Yan Fei got hold of the disk, he turned and ran, then quickly and discreetly stowed the rusted disk into the Universal Space. With that done, the disk could no longer be taken by anyone, and it would forever belong to Yan Fei.
