Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution-Chapter 683 - : Exploring the Spaceship
Chapter 683: Chapter 683: Exploring the Spaceship
Wei Changqing ultimately agreed to let Lin Shen search inside the spaceship, and sent old acquaintances Wei Shoucheng and Wei Shouxin to accompany him.
However, their primary task was to watch over Wei Wufu and prevent him from recklessly entering the spaceship.
Returning to the underground world once more, no matter how many times he had seen it, Lin Shen still felt an unparalleled shock. No one had imagined that beneath the ground there would be such a colossal space.
The point where they descended was right above the blue river contaminated by the spaceship. The broken spaceship had crashed into the river, with part of it exposed above the water and the submerged part’s size unknown.
The river’s water had turned into an eerie azure blue, resembling a river severely polluted by chemicals, and no one dared to enter the water there.
Ordinary people coming into contact with this azure blue liquid could easily undergo a transformation similar to those Base Variant Creatures, ultimately turning into a non-human form.
The part of the spaceship protruding from the water surface had broken off into honeycomb-like tubes, and the blue liquid was flowing out from these tubes.
On the tube walls, there was a thick layer of blue liquid, its contaminating ability even stronger than the river water’s.
The Wei Family had already conducted experiments; ordinary poultry and livestock that came into contact with the blue liquid would mutate into Steel Bodies in a matter of minutes.
Of course, such mutations were irreversible, and the rapid mutation had severe effects on the brain. Even well-trained hunting dogs would become crazed and bloodthirsty after mutating, completely disregarding their masters’ commands.
Lin Shen squatted by the riverbank and entered his Super Base Form, his flesh and blood immediately turning into silver crystal. He dipped his fingers into the river water, and the blue water could not contaminate his body at all.
Lin Shen then splashed the river water onto himself, but it still flowed down his Carapace, leaving not a single trace.
Seeing this, Wei Shoucheng and Wei Shouxin were both shocked and delighted. Lin Shen said to them, “Wait here for me, I’ll go in and take a look,” and then he stepped onto the river’s surface towards the broken part of the spaceship.
From a distance, those honeycomb-like tubes seemed quite small, but upon closer approach, their diameters could exceed two meters.
Lin Shen chose to head towards the front end of the spaceship, as the cockpit was generally located towards the front.
Watching Lin Shen step into one of the tubes, covered in blue viscous liquid, Wei Shoucheng and Wei Shouxin watched nervously.
Wei Wufu sat by the shore, seemingly not as tense as they were.

Lin Shen had no idea which tube would lead to which area and could only choose one that seemed likely to lead further inside, following it inward.
On his back, he carried the Scrap Sword and the Evil Ghost Blade, which added some weight to make his walk feel less like floating in space.
The tube up ahead was hexagonal, but after some distance, it turned circular. On the crystalline blue walls, rings of light flickered on and off intermittently, resembling damaged light strips that were sporadically bright and dim.
Not far ahead, the path came to an end with a hexagonal wall blocking the way. Lin Shen examined the wall which seemed like a hatch, but he saw no handle nor anything resembling a keypad.
He reached out to push, and before his hand could touch the hatch, the hexagonal crystal retracted inward, revealing the passage behind it.
“The sensor system can still operate normally…” Lin Shen grew even more surprised as he examined the passage behind, realizing that it was much larger than the tube he had come through.
Inside was a wide area capable of accommodating four lanes of traffic, with many blue spherical objects on bases lining both sides. Each blue sphere resembled blue crystal, allowing a view through their crystalline exteriors into the interior.
Lin Shen walked in closer to inspect a blue sphere, and upon peering inside, he was momentarily taken aback.
The inside of the blue crystal sphere was obviously hollow, but it was filled with liquid, and within that liquid, there was a pet egg the size of a human head.
Scores of blue crystal fibers were attached to the top of that pet egg, many of them densely packed, though their purpose was unclear.
“This couldn’t be a Primeval Egg, could it?” Lin Shen wondered, noting the tremendous size of the pet egg, which was entirely different from the Primeval Eggs he had seen before.
He then looked at some of the other blue spheres, some of which contained Base Variant Creatures Lin Shen had never seen before, also connected to many blue fibers.
They appeared to have no signs of life anymore, whether they died naturally or were originally specimens was unknown.
Some blue spheres were empty, containing nothing but liquid.
Others were open, revealing a circular hatch through which one could enter the inside of the blue spheres.
Lin Shen did not attempt to enter, feeling that the creatures and pet eggs inside these blue spheres, like specimens preserved in formalin, gave him an unsettling feeling.
Several blue spheres were shattered, but no liquid was seen on the ground, nor were there any fallen creature specimens.
After passing row upon row of blue spheres, there was another hexagonal hatch door ahead, but this time, as Lin Shen approached it, it did not open automatically.
Lin Shen pushed against it, eliciting no response, and after searching the surroundings, he found no switch to open the hatch.
Left with no choice, he drew his Scrap Sword, intending to pry the thing open.
Clearly, Lin Shen had underestimated the sturdiness of the hatch; the Scrap Sword, even when used in conjunction with the Scrap Sword Skill, only managed to leave a shallow scratch on it.
Considering the thickness of the previous hatch, sawing through this one would definitely take several days.
“Detected a device ready for configuration, would you like to configure now?” Lin Shen’s mechanical wristwatch began to vibrate.
“The mechanical wristwatch is actually related to this spaceship?” Lin Shen was slightly surprised, having previously thought that Gourd Mountain had probably not fallen together with a spaceship, only to discover that the two were indeed connected.
Lin Shen chose to configure, and the mechanical wristwatch immediately displayed a configuring screen. After a while, a message appeared: “Configuration failed due to system damage, connection successful, functionality missing…”
Lin Shen did not know whether the system failure referred to damage on the mechanical wristwatch itself, the spaceship, or both.
Any possibility meant it was inoperable.
Just as Lin Shen was about to turn back to try another pipe to see if he could enter the interior of the ship,
the hatch in front of him unexpectedly opened on its own. Lin Shen peered inside and immediately his eyes widened in astonishment.
Inside the hatch was a space that resembled a storage room, lined with rows of crystal cabinets, all housing various mini eggs, some of which were very similar to the Primeval Eggs Lin Shen had seen previously.
Furthermore, some of the Primeval Eggs radiated different glows, clearly indicating they possessed Nirvana Attributes.
“All of these are Primeval Eggs, aren’t they? If I had known there were so many here, I would have come to get them earlier. I let Wei miss the chance to use a Primeval Egg for Ascension to obtain a Double Life Base,” Lin Shen reflected, filled with regret at the sight of so many Primeval Eggs.
