Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts-Chapter 775: Retreat
Nathan's group continued advancing toward the ruin. They had come to the surface multiple times to renew their barrier so that they had enough air to breathe inside their barrier.
Still, because of the idea of exploring an unexpected ruin, the people looked a bit more tense.
After all, they believed that the ruin would be inhabited by stronger aliens. This time, they might even fight warrior class aliens or even more.
That was why they didn't want to make any mistakes in case they accidentally woke them up.
On the other hand, Nathan kept observing the situation around, using minimal ena to advance. Most of his job was taken care of by Selena. After all, he wanted to use this time to prepare for a backup plan.
He understood his luck perfectly. That was the reason he brought Flora in in the first place. This time, his backup plan would rely heavily on Flora. Still, he wished he didn't need to use the backup plan at all.
After rushing for two hours, the building finally came into their sight.
"This is…" The people gasped while raising their heads.
"…" Nathan squinted his eyes.
As Amphitrite said, the building was buried under the sand. Only the top part of the building was visible.
However, they were still far away, so the aliens outside those buildings had yet to come to deal with them.
The only part they could see was a box-shaped structure. They could see the entrance on one side, but it had no door or any remains that looked like a door.
In addition, there was one more platform underneath this structure, much bigger than the top one. It made them think that there were even more layers beneath them.
They didn't even know the size of this place.
Lena waved her hand, signaling the group to stop. They gathered up as Lena explained, "The situation doesn't look bad. Looking at the size of the entrance, I don't think it's a small ruin. There should be at least a few hundred creatures inside, with a few strong aliens governing them.
"It doesn't seem they have noticed us yet, so we will proceed to the entrance. If possible, explore the ruin for a bit to see the structure or understand how big it is. Once we determine the level of the threat, we'll retreat immediately.
"Some of you will focus on checking the structure. See if they're made by aliens or humans."
The summoners nodded.

Fenrir, on the other hand, looked concerned. "The building is massive."
The people couldn't help but turn their heads to Fenrir. Fenrir added, "I can sense an alien directly beneath me right now. And it should be around 30 meters (98 feet) underground. If we assume that the building expands underneath, it should be deeper than that, and the size is… calculate it yourself."
"What?" Lena and the others were dumbstruck. If the building was truly that big, the matter had just become more dangerous. "Do you notice anything else?"
"Yeah. Although they haven't noticed us, there's an existence within that building that bothers me. It's still slumbering, but it still gives me a chill." Fenrir nodded.
"Seriously?" It was Nathan's turn to be shocked. This was the first time Fenrir felt chills. This showed how dangerous the enemy was. In other words, the enemy hidden inside this place was not a warrior class alien. "Don't tell me… an elite class alien?"
"!!!"
Lena fell silent. The moment Nathan brought up that topic, Lena had to make a decision. If they retreated, they couldn't confirm the existence of that elite class alien. They could only rely on Fenrir's testament.
Even though Fenrir was strong, people rarely believed in information from an untrusted source.
In addition, even a single elite class alien would be too much for Lena. It wasn't because she couldn't fight it.
Multiple master summoners could kill a warrior class alien by using the number advantage. With enough summoners, they could definitely do it.
Meanwhile, an arcane level summoner was supposed to be equal to an elite class alien. However, that was because the arcane level summoner had their familiars.
On the other hand, in a nest, there would be a lot more aliens, which would render that numerical advantage useless. In a one-on-one fight, unless that person was abnormal, a single human couldn't really fight against an elite class alien.
Even the Sword Saint, a world class summoner, would die if he was surrounded by multiple elite class aliens.
The question was, could they believe in Fenrir's words? Even if they believed it, what should they do? Should they retreat without confirming anything? Even Nathan hadn't accomplished his objective.
Then again, Nathan could see a lot of bones scattered around this area.
Lena fell into deep thought. One wrong move could cost them their lives.
'Familiars who are similar to a beast usually have a sharp instinct, right? And this wolf is a complete beast… Should I trust him? How high is this wolf's intelligence?' Lena didn't know that Fenrir was a divine beast, so she couldn't make a decision.
On the other hand, Nathan said, "I think we should retreat. Although accomplishing my own mission is good, I don't think today is the day. We should better bring some reinforcement if there's indeed an elite class alien."
Lena sighed. "That's indeed true. Although I don't know how strong your familiar is, I don't think he is that far from a warrior class alien.
"If that's the case, his opinion is quite valuable regarding the opponent's strength. He either believes there is a warrior class mutant or an elite class alien.
"That's why I don't think it's worth the risk. For now, let's return to the ship. We'll descend again tomorrow and confirm the suspicion. I will send a message to the port to assemble our men there. In case we poke a hornet's nest, we have enough men to resist until a reinforcement from the kingdom arrives.
"Besides, I'm sure that plenty of you only have about 50% of your ena left, so it's better for us to go back for now and recover enough ena."
