Summoned with an SSS-Rank Portal Skill-Chapter 330: Strange System Quest, Hidden Class?
William didn’t want to go—but the headmaster said something that changed his mind. It was a pretty good offer.
"If you succeed in this mission, we’re considering adding a new member to the council. What do you think? It’s a great opportunity."
The council was where the sect’s high-ranking members operated. If William wanted to uncover the truth—whether the sect was truly evil or not—he’d have to reach those ranks himself.
Suddenly, the mission wasn’t pointless anymore. It was an opportunity.
"Are you serious?" William asked. "I thought the process to enter the council was... harder."
"You’re assuming this mission will be easy," the headmaster replied. "But your talent is the reason they’re even considering you. We don’t find people like you every day—and you know that."
"You’re right. Sorry for the stupid question."
"It’s nothing. Prepare to leave in three days. We’re working on your new documents."
William left the office and returned to his dormitory, where he found Kali and Geneva. He couldn’t tell them why he was going—mostly because he didn’t know. All he knew was that it was a secret mission.
"So you’re leaving again?" Kali asked, visibly unhappy. "Well... at least you’ll get a sense of what kind of secret missions the sect runs, right?"
"Yeah, maybe. I just hope things go well."
The uncertainty of it all was eating away at William. The only thing keeping him steady was the chance to join the council.
Those three days flew by. In the meantime, William had no classes or recruiter duties to attend to.
Then, the day before his departure, a knock came at the door.
It was the old man from the library.
He handed William a few books and a note—then left without a word.
William laid the books on his bed. At first glance, they looked like ordinary fiction.
Before opening any of them, he read the letter. It was from the headmaster.
"These books are a gift for you, so you can keep learning and growing stronger during your time away. They may look like normal books on the outside—but they are necromancy volumes. To read them, you must perform the spell written at the end of this letter. After mastering it, destroy this letter."
The spell was written in the letter. It was such a clever way to hide things. This spell had been created by the sect—a special incantation known only to those carrying out secret missions or serving in the council.
William picked up one of the books. On the surface, it was just a fiction novel filled with stories and legends. But after casting the spell—a simple one, at least for someone like him—the book transformed.
Its appearance shifted completely, revealing a necromancy volume filled with spells William hadn’t yet learned.
All the other books were the same.
With these in hand, William now had a library of spells to study for a long time. He wasn’t stupid. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"This mission isn’t short," William realized.
But he was willing to do whatever it took to reach the sect’s highest ranks. He packed the books and the rest of his supplies, and he waited.
When the day to depart arrived, Kali and Geneva came to his room to say goodbye. He was worried about them—but they were more worried about him.
"You’re the one leaving, not us. We’ll be safe here," Geneva said. "But you need to protect yourself—at all costs. Even if that means failing this mission."
William wasn’t reckless. He knew his life came before any mission. He wasn’t so loyal to the sect that he’d die for it.
Logan led him out of the sect, using the same entrance they always did. He was curious about the mission William had accepted, but he didn’t ask—he knew William wasn’t allowed to share it.
"Good luck, my friend," Logan said. "You’ll be leaving with a horse, I think... unfortunately. That’ll make your journey take way longer."
William had wanted a flying mount, but the headmaster had explained he couldn’t arrive in the capital too soon—they still needed time to finalize all his documents for the new role.
"Thanks, my friend. See ya—and good luck with those acolytes," William said, waving as he rode away.
Logan laughed. "You’re a lucky bastard, aren’t you? I wish I could get away from these acolytes for a while... damn it."
"One day you will, my friend. One day you will."
William left the cemetery on horseback. His magical pouch held plenty of supplies—enough to last a long time.
The journey to the capital was long. He’d have to cross a large portion of the kingdom, but he wasn’t in a hurry.
It was the perfect moment to take it slow—and study along the way. William wanted to arrive as strong and prepared as possible.
He was excited about what lay ahead. The role of a new teacher? That was certainly intriguing. Of course, he knew he wouldn’t truly be there to teach—his real task was the secret mission.
Whatever it was.
The days passed slowly.
William camped often. Other nights, he found a good tavern to relax. But every single day, he practiced necromancy.
Beasts attacked him on the road, and with every encounter—every kill—he leveled up.
He had reached level 55.
His status was at least four times higher than an average person. That was the strength of his bloodline.
But then something unexpected happened.
The system issued a new mission:
[There are secrets in this continent for you to find, and if you do, you’ll get a hidden class as a reward.]
[Complete the task.]
That was all. No clues. No directions. Just mystery.
What did the system want him to uncover?
William didn’t know.
Still, a class was the only thing he was missing—and he wouldn’t settle for a normal one. If he was going to choose, it had to be powerful.
He made up his mind: he’d accept nothing less than something worthy.
Anyway, after days on the road—wandering, fighting, training—he finally reached the capital.
