Sumatra's Greatest Fan-Chapter 78: The Meaning Of Boiboi
Mystic Nature Art was a cultivation technique meant for cleansing oneself. The goal of this cleansing was to be a Mystic Human.
Therefore, any existence that gains knowledge of this cultivation technique has a year left to live. By then, they must succeed in becoming a Mystic Human or die trying.
A Free Human who hasn’t practiced any cultivation techniques has a small chance of becoming a Mystic Human within a year. Free Humans with existing Human Avatars had a chance extremely close to zero.
For Pranic Beasts, gaining knowledge of Mystic Nature Art was pretty much a death sentence.
For Mystic Humans, cultivating Mystic Nature Art allowed them to build up their magnitude of resistance. The greater the magnitude of their resistance, the easier and quicker they could resist external influences.
Even the effects of Natures fall under this category. There existed Mystic Humans capable of casually strolling through the effects of most Natures. Majority of attacks do nothing to them.
Mystic Nature Art–Spirit Weapon Switch!
Cultivators generally control one Spirit Weapon, for controlling more than one causes an exponential increase in Prana consumption for the same effort. The Skill of Spirit Weapon Switch allows one to control multiple Spirit Weapons by switching controls between them in quick successions.
In the first instance, they’ll be controlling ’Spirit Weapon A’ to move forward by one step. In the next instance, they’ll be controlling ’Spirit Weapon B’ to move two steps forward. And before the momentum in ’Spirit Weapon B’ reduces, they’ll propel forward ’Spirit Weapon A’ by a controlled amount.
By using this switch rapidly, to the external party, it will seem like the individual was controlling two Spirit Weapons simultaneously, an astounding feat.
The Prana consumption was only as much as controlling one Spirit Weapon, since at every instant, they were only controlling one Spirit Weapon.
It used to be a signature Skill of the Brimgan Royals, until one Mystic Human stole knowledge of the Skill and somehow succeeded in emulating its effects using Mystic Nature Art.
Mystic Nature Art had roots in the cultivation technique practiced by the Brimgan Royals, so it was possible to copy the Skills developed by the Brimgan Empire.
Standing at the bottom of the flight of stairs, the Mystic Human watched his fists pummel up the Knarwals casually.
Mystic Humans treated their bodies as a Spirit Weapon. Therefore, the severed fists danced around the air and punched the Knarwals at angles they couldn’t guard against. Moreover, the psychokinesis fuelling these punches was sourced from Gold Grade Prana.
The sheer reinforcement done to the fists made them seem indestructible to the Knarwals as they died one after another in a matter of seconds. As they fell helplessly, a branch rolled down the flight of stairs and stopped beside the Mystic Human’s feet.
A dense stream of pollen invaded his being, striving to control him. ’Keuk!’
The pollen invading the Mystic Human’s body was being digested in real time after their effects were resisted to the most extent. They were merely turning into a supply of Prana for the Mystic Human.
’This isn’t enough!’ The branch was Torq in disguise, drawing in a horde of pollen from the infected Pranic Beasts on the surface. Only during the Death Hour would such a large number of Pranic Beasts be huddled so close together.
That created the most optimal condition for a Narlakk to take over. This was why Torq had rushed over to the island. Because only with the influx of pollen from such a large horde could he think of even controlling a single Mystic Human.
’His resistance is actually lower than my expectations.’ Even though he was struggling, Torq’s thoughts were otherwise, ’Not only has he become a Mystic Human in recent years, he has never been infected by Nirclick pollen before, much less Narlakk pollen.’
The more an external influence tries to affect a Mystic Human, the more the Mystic Human’s resistance towards the respective influence increases. From that perspective, the Mystic Human that Torq was targeting had such minimal resistance to his pollen that Torq was sure no Mystic Human had been targeted until now.
’Not just the Mystic Humans.’ When he sent some pollen into the Free Humans, he was surprised by the ease of proliferation, ’Even the Free Humans haven’t been targeted too.’
This came as a shocker, for all the Pranic Beasts in the region were stuffed to the brim with Narlakk pollen while the Mystic Humans and Free Humans haven’t been targeted in the slightest.
’They don’t wish to take risks and raise the resistance levels of the Mystic Humans, huh?’ Torq surmised, ’They probably want to maintain the status quo, until whatever plan they hatched could unleash its highest possible effect on them.’
In real-time, even though Torq was using the limit of his Narlakk form’s psychokinesis to stuff pollen in the Mystic Human, the latter’s resistance growth wasn’t just keeping up, but was exceeding his output easily.
’In at most a few days, he’ll probably be immune to the influence of even Narlakks empowered by a Quill.’ Torq thought and strained his Narlakk form to overwhelm the Mystic Human for a few seconds.
The Mystic Human was knocked out for a couple seconds, in which duration, Torq reverted to human form, ripped off the other party’s facial skin, and reverted to his appearance as a branch after transforming into the Narlakk.
"Hmm, did I doze off?" The Mystic Human wondered as he blinked his eyes, unawares his facial skin had been peeled off, for it had already regenerated long before. He did wonder why his Prana capacity was full and wiped the stain of blood from his mouth, "I only had a few bites."
"That alone regenerated so much Prana?" He frowned and then patted his head and laughed relaxedly, "It must have consumed a powerful Pranic Beast by mistake. And since I ate its belly, I must have consumed that meat."
Only that explanation made sense, and hence, the Mystic Human had assumed as such.
The fight continued for a while, as during the chaos, the branch used the chaos to stumble down the flight of stairs and reached the underground Settlement. It was a mining cave, with the entrance expanded to create housing quarters meant for use during the Death Hour.
The Free Humans mostly mined the mineral deposits that gathered in abundance in the mines, almost inexhaustible due to the nature of the region’s terrain.
Other than a small group of Free Humans who stayed at the foot of the flight of stairs, nervously standing to face any Pranic Beast that might find its way to them, most others had resumed their work. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"Phew, it’s just a tree branch." One of them flinched when the branch rolled down, then sighed upon identifying it. He picked up the branch and chucked it to the side, deeper into the Settlement.
Torq released pollen and interacted with anything that could interact with it. Narlakks observed their surroundings using their pollen. Through it, Torq noticed the Free Humans casually walking into deeper tunnels.
And as they did so, a tail emerged out of their asses, holding a crystalline pickaxe on its end. Seeing the tails, Torq was stunned for a moment, feeling at a loss for words. Free Humans didn’t have a tail.
The so-called tail they carried was a Pranic Beast that resided within the rectums of its victims. And this creature was also the source of Boiboi’s name.
