Study System: I'm a 38-Year-Old Student-Chapter 219 - 158: [Focus Person] Shen Qiushan!
This isn’t a wedding house, is it?
Lin Xiamo glanced at Shen Qiushan again, thinking it wasn’t entirely impossible.
Otherwise, buying a house didn’t seem like something that required her opinion.
"Are you bringing Yanran and Xiaoxiao?"
Lin Xiamo wanted to further verify her speculations. If the kids weren’t coming, it was likely as she suspected.
"They don’t really understand this stuff, so it doesn’t matter either way."
"Besides, they have their arrangements for the weekend and might not be interested."
Shen Qiushan replied casually.
"Oh, okay."
Lin Xiamo nodded gently.
The result was quite obvious; Shen Qiushan was planning to take her to see a "wedding house"!
"Momo, do you think a villa is better or a big flat?"
Shen Qiushan asked again.
He wanted to buy a luxury home but couldn’t decide between a villa or a large flat.
In Lin Xiamo’s view, this only confirmed what she had been thinking.
"A flat!"
"It should feel more comfortable to live in."
Lin Xiamo replied rather earnestly.
The area of each floor in a villa isn’t actually that large. Plus, with having to go up and down all the time, living in a villa isn’t as pleasant as a flat.
Of course, these preferences are subjective; some people like villas, and others prefer flats.
Shen Qiushan nodded slightly, taking Lin Xiamo’s suggestion to heart.
Soon, they arrived at Vice President Zhao Changtian’s office.
He was the executive vice president, higher ranked than Liu Hongyu, who was in charge of admissions and logistics. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Having him greet the CCTV reporter showed the importance they attached to this meeting.
Sanjiang University is a sub-ministerial-level institution, and Zhao Changtian’s executive vice president position is equivalent to a department-director level.
The reporter from CCTV was named Liu Bingbing, looking to be around twenty-six or twenty-seven.
Accompanying her was a middle-aged cameraman with a Mediterranean hairstyle.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Liu Bingbing started talking about work, "Teacher Shen, we’re from the ’Focus Person’ program. Have you seen our show?"
"Yeah, of course I’ve watched it."
Shen Qiushan nodded.
’Focus Person’ is the flagship program of the news channel, airing once a week, each episode lasting 25 minutes.
Each episode focuses on one or several individuals who have achieved remarkable success in a certain field.
Right now, Liu Bingbing was planning to make an episode with Shen Qiushan as the main subject.
Shen Qiushan naturally had no objections to this.
Getting a spot on CCTV is something to boast about for a lifetime, let alone having an entire episode centered on him!
The Shen Family’s genealogy could pretty much have a new page because of him!
"Teacher Shen, since you’ve watched our program, you should know we’re not just about interviews."
"We use a recording plus interview format, so we’ll be following you around all day. Is that okay with you?"
Even though Liu Bingbing knew he wouldn’t refuse, she was still very polite.
"It’s fine, however you want to shoot, I’ll do my best to cooperate."
Shen Qiushan smiled and nodded.
Seeing that they had just about finished talking, Zhao Changtian spoke up, "Reporter Liu, feel free to let us know how the school can assist you."
"Secretary Lin, you’ll accompany them for the whole day to facilitate Reporter Liu’s work."
As the executive vice president, Zhao Changtian had given enough face by greeting them himself. There’s no need to personally accompany them during filming.
Lin Xiamo had no objections to this arrangement.
Leaving Zhao Changtian’s office, Liu Bingbing asked, "Teacher Shen, what plans do you have for today?"
"Teaching classes!"
"Today is a full day of classes!"
Shen Qiushan shrugged, "I was pulled out from my classroom for this."
"I see."
"Then we’ll accompany you back to your classes!"
Before coming, Liu Bingbing had done her homework and was well acquainted with Shen Qiushan’s basic circumstances.
"Teacher Shen, our cameras will be on most of the time to capture more footage for editing..."
Liu Bingbing explained further.
"Okay, do it however you’re accustomed to."
"But, could you stop calling me ’Teacher Shen’?"
"Just call me Old Shen!"
Every time he heard those three words, "Teacher Shen," Shen Qiushan felt uncomfortable all over.
Somehow, "teacher" had become a universal title across all professions.
Barbers are called teachers, makeup artists are called teachers, actors are called teachers...
Originally, the teaching profession was quite sacred, but with so many "teachers," it’s become somewhat diminutive.
"Teacher Shen, you’re a Nebula Award winner!"
"Calling you a teacher is more than fitting."
Liu Bingbing seemed to understand Shen Qiushan’s thoughts and said with a smile.
"I’d rather not."
Shen Qiushan waved his hand, "At the school, everyone calls me Old Shen. It sounds better to my ears."
"Alright, then we’ll call you Old Shen."
Liu Bingbing nodded and didn’t dwell on the title, "Old Shen, I’ll ask questions as we go."
"Your award-winning book, ’Three-Body Civilization,’ what’s it about?"
"Since it’s not officially published yet, I’m sure the audience, like myself, is very curious."
After a brief thought, Shen Qiushan replied, "Simply put, it’s a story about an alien civilization invading Earth."
"But that’s just the outer shell; there are many underlying elements, which are hard to summarize in a few sentences."
"When the book is out, everyone should see for themselves!"
Liu Bingbing: "Old Shen, you truly live up to being a Nebula Award-winning author, leaving a hook for everyone just like that."
