Chapter 698: An Unrelenting Wave of Destruction

In this world, foreigners were restricted from using mana, so the Orcs were shocked to see Jason floating in the air. There were some flying vehicles approaching from the distance, but Jason didn’t bother trying to explain himself to anyone, and he blasted through the city and past all the flying vehicles to make his way out! This city was only filled with low-SS-ranked mages and below since it was a Rank II world, so there was nothing anyone could do to stop Jason! Jason’s mind raced as he began trying to figure out how to deal with this problem. The world was trying to kill him and Jason knew that there was nothing he could do to stop the world itself. So right now, the best way Jason could think of to stop this was by getting through to Hesabeth. Jason wanted to knock some sense into Hesabeth, but if he tried something like that, the world would likely destroy this entire domain, so his best bet was to try to talk some sense into Hesabeth. Jason needed her to know that Gillian’s death wasn’t his fault.

’I need to get close to her. But how the hell am I going to do that? I’m this far away from her, and the world is still trying to kill me. Things are only going to get worse if I try to get close to her.’

Jason knew that Hesabeth was like the eye of a storm right now. All the calamities following him originated from her, and even though he was two-dimensional leaps away, the storm was still strong enough to reach him here. If Jason got closer, then the danger would only increase. But all of a sudden, Jason remembered something about Hesabeth’s Bias and a strange, impossible plan began to form in his head. Jason honestly didn’t know if this plan would work because he had a feeling the world would fight back desperately against it. But if Jason was going to talk to Hesabeth, then he didn’t have any other option!

[This is the Vaean City Police Department! You are in violation of Vaean laws, and we are commanding you to land this instant! Recall all your mana and land this instant or we would be forced ot use deadly force – Oh gods, what is that!?]

A voice started to shout from behind Jason, but the voice suddenly exclaimed as it saw something in the distance, and Jason looked up to see a massive storm approaching!

ROARRR!!

A mighty roar echoed through the air as the storm grew closer, and Jason immediately recognised it as the PRIMORDIAL Rank Lightning Dragon! Did the lightning dragon really follow him all the way here!? Jason quickly turned to the side, and he sent a command to multiple subordinates before he took off in a new direction to pull the lightning dragon away from the city! The city here was still very weak, so if the lightning dragon that was a PRIMORDIAL rank got closer, then the city would likely be destroyed from just its presence alone! But unfortunately, the city of Vaea was located in the middle of three other cities that surrounded it on every side, so even though Jason wanted to draw the lightning dragon out of one city, he would inevitably draw it towards another city. Jason activated [Eye of the King] to see whether his subordinates were doing as they were told, and he saw that they were already working towards the plan. Jason released enough mana to create a Dimensional Tear so he could lead the dragon towards another world! Jason didn’t mind being on the run for a while longer until his subordinates were in position!

....

Back in the world where Gillian died, Hesabeth was kneeling on a patch of green grass as she stared down at the lifeless face of her best friend. Hesabeth’s face was a blank, emotionless mask, and her entire body was unmoving as she simply looked down at Gillian with a deep sadness surrounding her. This wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair that Gillian would die like this while there were far worse people in this world who were still alive. Hesabeth had searched for Gillian for years. She had turned most of the Primordial Expanse upside down on the day when Gillian had vanished just to try and find her, but no matter how desperately she searched, the world simply refused to give her any clues as to where Gillian was.

And now that Gillian had been found, Hesabeth never even got a chance to say goodbye. Hesabeth reached out and gently stroked the hair of her closest friend, and she closed her eyes as she felt a painful stab in her chest! Hesabeth’s anger was unquenchable at that moment, and the world around Hesabeth was responding to that anger with just as much fury! Right now, Hesabeth was the eye of a massive storm that had swept across the entire world. There was a typhoon swirling around Hesabeth that destroyed everything in its path with impossible winds, and lightning and thunder echoed through the sky as a massive storm ravaged the land! This intense storm had already begun to spread around to other worlds parallel to this one, and Hesabeth’s anger at this time had already claimed the lives of more than ten million creatures that were unfortunate enough to be around her!

This was one of the very few times when Hesabeth’s Bias would go out of control in this way, and although the scale of destruction was not as great as the destruction that her powers caused when she had been looking for Gillian, it was still more than enough to be classified as one of the greatest Calamities of the current age, and if things did not calm down anytime soon, then C’thlyanu himself would eventually have to intervene in this incident!

Phwoom!

Hesabeth’s eyes narrowed, and she glanced up as she felt something approaching from the distance! The massive typhoon was still raging around her, but Hesabeth could sense that something was trying to get close to her, and she quickly put her hand around Gillian’s body and held it tight while directing her rage towards whatever was approaching.

BOOM!

A massive icicle pierced into the ground at the position where the figure had been, and Hesabeth narrowed her eyes as multiple other figures began to head toward her as well! Hesabeth didn’t know it, but the figures heading for her were all Rook Rank Phantoms from Jason’s Legion, and the reason she couldn’t see them was because they were using the shadows to try and get closer to Hesabeth! But even though they were getting closer, Hesabeth couldn’t sense any killing intent from any of them, and that was why it was so difficult for the world to lash out directly. The Phantoms did not want to harm her, and their only intention was to get closer! Hesabeth had to focus her attention on them and wish for their destruction before the world would lash out to kill them, and although the Phantoms were all far weaker than Hesabeth, there were just too many of them for her to notice all of them, and it wasn’t long before one of them finally broke through the storm and managed to get into the patch of green grass where she was! Hesabeth turned around with wide eyes as the phantom reached out for her from the shadows, and she quickly swiped her hand through the air with an angry snarl!

BOOM!

A massive explosion went off as Hesabeth used one of her abilities for the first time in decades, and she thought that she had actually killed the phantom, but she was surprised when the smoke cloud around the Phantom cleared out to reveal Jason Marc reaching out for her! 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

[King’s Substitute]!

Jason had a serious look on his face as he grabbed Hesabeth around the shoulder, and before Hesabeth could process what was going on, Jason activated his strongest attribute!
