Strongest Demigod System-Chapter 68: Description of Monstrosity
As Azrael was walking out, he saw Jane talking to someone and he was surprised to see that it was Maddison.
Maddison was frowning at Jane and Azrael figured that they must be quarrelling.
"Why do you keep coming to our class? Don't tell me you're actually going out with Azrael. What in the world is going on in that head of yours?"
Jane's voice reached Azrael, making him take offense to the tone she was using to talk about him, but Maddison didn't bother responding to her question.
Maddison just turned away from her and spoke to Azrael.
"Hey, do you want to have lunch together?"
Azrael shook his head and Maddison's face fell slightly until she heard his reason.
"I have a class captains meeting and I might be busy throughout lunch. I'll see you later."
Maddison nodded in understanding and Jane looked at the both of them with slight disappointment before she started to walk again. Jane had no idea what was going on between Azrael and Maddison, but she knew that this was only going to end badly for the both of them.
Azrael started to follow Jane but he heard Maddison speak up from behind him.

"Azrael, wait… about earlier today. That question I asked. I'm… I'm sorry about that. It was stupid to ask that question. I was just feeling really guilty. But I'm fine now, so I won't talk like that again. I promise."
Azrael's only response was a nod.
…
The meeting between the captains of A and B class was just a formality that would allow them to get familiar with each other as well as the teachers that would be handling them.
Azrael had been nonchalant about the meeting right up until he got to the meeting room, but once he saw who the captain of B class was, Azrael felt anger surge through him.
Sunny Gaye.
The handsome boy had a wide smile on his face as he greeted Azrael like they were long-lost brothers reuniting for the first time in years. He shook Azrael's hand and hugged him before patting him on the shoulder and telling him that they were going to do a great job working together for the next year.
Azrael wanted to stab the bastard in the eye each time he touched him, but Azrael was able to get through the greeting while exercising as much self-control and calmness as possible.
Sunny's vice-captain was a girl named Rachael that was extremely beautiful. She had bronze hair and dark eyes that seemed to be looking down on everyone around her.
She glanced at Azrael with something like curiosity when they were introduced to each other before she turned away from him with a frown without bothering to say any form of greeting.
Rachael stuck to Sunny like glue and from how she constantly fretted over him and tried to listen to every word he said, Azrael guessed that she was someone else who had fallen for his charms.
The teacher for B class, Terra, greeted Azrael very enthusiastically. She was the polar opposite of Scar, with wide smiles and a happy disposition that made anyone around her infected with happiness.
Scar only gave the students a one-word greeting.
"Oh, come on Scar-Scar. You could try being a little nicer to the kids. You're going to make them think you're a boomer."
Azrael was surprised when Terra started to poke fun at Scar for his horrible attitude and Scar just frowned in irritation without bothering to say anything to the woman.
It was obvious that they were both very close.
The teachers also introduced the students to the members of the student council as well as other captains from the higher years and Azrael tried his best not to look towards Cleopatra throughout the time when they were in the meeting. Cleopatra was constantly trying to catch his eye, but Azrael refused to even glance in her direction and as the student council members were leaving, Cleopatra put her hand on Azrael's shoulder and leaned down to speak in his ear.
"Wednesday, after school. Meet me in my office."
Azrael closed his eyes and held in a sigh.
It was like trouble always finds its way to him no matter how much he tries to avoid it.
Azrael had no idea what Cleopatra could want from him, but he wasn't looking forward to finding out.
"Is Darwin still on academic leave?"
Scar spoke up with some curiosity while looking towards the third-year vice-captain of class B. The girl nodded and said that he would be back later in the year. Jane Ashton asked what Darwin was doing and Scar just told her that it was nothing important.
Terra spoke up over Scar.
"Not important!? Don't play down my student's achievement! Kids, you all better give Darwin the highest possible respect. After all, he's in the Null Zone right now!"
Azrael's brows rose and Jane exclaimed in surprise.
"A student in the Null Zone? I thought it was only open to S Ranks?"
Terra nodded pridefully.
"Of course it is. Why do you think he's in there?"
All the first-year students were shocked into silence by the revelation. Even Azrael couldn't help but be impressed by the feat.
Everyone in the school knew who Darwin was. He was praised as the first student in a decade to gain an S Rank in their Divine Potential, and by the time he got to his second year, people started to claim that he was the second coming of James Rickard for how quickly he was growing.
The only person in the school who was managing to keep up with him was Cleopatra, but even though Cleopatra was already an S Rank in her mortal body, she was still an A Rank in God Aspect.
Darwin was the first student to reach S rank in both his God Aspect and mortal body while still in school since James Rickard.
And since he had already reached the minimum needed threshold, he was now permitted to go into the Null Zone with the other Demigods.
It was a very impressive achievement and Darwin was already set for life to become a legend for what he did.
Azrael closed his eyes as he realized that he was never going to have something like that. Even though Azrael now had a God Aspect, he was not recognized by the Divine Enforcers as someone with a God Aspect, so no matter how powerful his mortal body became, they would never allow him to go into the Null Zone.
If Azrael ever wanted to get into that part of the world, he was going to have to find some other way in.
But for now, Azrael didn't allow that to bother him.
Azrael first needed to get to a minimum level of power in both his God Aspect and Mortal body before he would be fit to survive in that world. So he was going to work hard out here in the mortal plane and gain as much power as possible first.
The meeting didn't last that much longer and they were allowed to leave to have lunch.
Azrael immediately headed towards one of the training rooms in the gym, sat in the middle of the room, and began to meditate.
Once more, as Azrael started to recite the mantra from the Divine Enforcers' website in his mind, the question that Maddison asked him earlier came to him.
Azrael didn't have anything against Maddison, but at the moment when she asked him that question, there was a deep-seated anger that rose from inside him, making him lash out at her the way he did. It was almost reactionary like he was trying to make sure she didn't notice how much the question had affected him.
What did it mean to be a monster?
