Strongest Demigod System-Chapter 66: Misplaced Doubt
"Come, children, please have a seat. I've wanted to have this conversation with you for some time, but I've just been so busy. There's hardly any time for me to breathe when handling so many superpowered children."

The headmaster laughed at his own joke jovially, but Azrael didn't pay any mind to that as he watched the chairs in front of them move on their own accord. The chairs moved back like they were being controlled by invisible hands before they turned to the side to allow him and Maddison to sit down.
Azrael looked at the headmaster in surprise, and the headmaster just gestured to the chair again, telling them to sit.
Another chair at the side moved away from the conference table and Cleopatra went over to it and sat down there before Azrael and Maddison took their own seats.
Once they were both seated, the headmaster looked to the side with a smile. A tea set that was lying on a cabinet floated into the air and came over to them by itself.
"Would you like some tea? I know it must've been very nerve-wracking to have the president come and get you on your first day, but I just couldn't relegate the duty to anyone else. There isn't anyone as reliable as dear Cleo in the school. Come, come, take a drink."
The teapot tilted itself like it was being controlled by invisible hands and poured a drink into the cups in the tray. Three of the cups then floated off the tray and headed for the three students with the headmaster just smiling kindly as he watched on.
Cleopatra thanked the headmaster and drank without any ceremony, and Azrael just had to drink as well when the headmaster kept looking at him expectantly.
Azrael tried to guess which Celestial Guardian the headmaster had for him to be able to do the things he was doing. It had to be someone related to invisibility. Or maybe it was something like telekinesis? There weren't many celestial guardians that had such a blessing, so Azrael figured that if he searched online, he would be able to figure it out.
The headmaster seemed to notice the curiosity on Azrael's face and he spoke.
"I wouldn't waste my time on something so fruitless. It's not worth bothering yourself over."
Cleopatra chuckled slightly from the side and the headmaster also laughed.
It was a running bet amongst all the members of the staff as well as the student council to see who would be able to figure out the headmaster's Celestial Guardian.
The headmaster was from an era long before the records of Celestial Guardians were being kept. Back then, the demigods were thrown straight into the veil to survive, and it was completely up to their natural ability to fight and their luck if they would come back.
No one cared to ask what your God Aspect was, and your Divine Potential wasn't even measured before you had to face off against hundreds of monsters without any preparation.
The headmaster survived through such a dark time and became the leader of the school after it was established. There were no records whatsoever of his Celestial Guardian and the staff had bet hundreds of thousands of dollars to see which of them would be able to figure it out.
No one has managed it so far.
The headmaster knew about this bet and he didn't bother telling them to stop since he found it amusing.
Headmaster Sozin waited until the children looked a little more relaxed before he stapled his hands in front of him and spoke up.
"Now, I believe I should tell you why I have summoned you here so abruptly. It came to my attention just last week that you two were faced with a few accusations by an investigator from the police department. I was terribly angry at the news and I told the police department as much. There has been quite a lot of stigma going around the world recently because of the form of God Aspects gained by the children under the 'dark' gods. This stigma, although valid in some cases, can also cause a lot of harm to those who do not deserve such criminalization. I believe that the recent act from the police department was an oversight on their part.
"I would like to apologize on behalf of the school and the police department to you two. You are both students of this school and you had to go through something most adults wouldn't be able to bear. It is disappointing. I hope neither of you would hold dear Francesca in contempt. She was only doing what she believed was right by granting the investigator permission."
Headmaster Sozin looked from Azrael to Maddison and saw that they both looked surprised by his words.
The headmaster understood that they weren't used to adults showing them any form of benefit when it came to doubt, so he couldn't hold their surprise against them.
Headmaster Sozin lived in a time when the children of darkness were not treated in the same way as they are now. Back then, the children of darkness were seen as some of the most powerful of the demigods because of how much power they had over death. It was only after some of those children became too twisted in their ideals and began to use the bodies of their comrades to improve their God Aspect that the stigmatization began.
This led to the Demigod War and the current view on the children of darkness soured irreparably.
Headmaster Sozin was someone who believed that everyone could be good, regardless of who their Celestial Guardian was or where they came from. He would not label someone as a criminal without proper proof of the matter.
If the investigator had come to the headmaster instead of the headmistress that day, then there is no doubt that the investigation would not have happened at all.
Azrael looked away from the headmaster's kind eyes and stared at his reflection in the cup of tea. There was something like guilt trying to rise out from Azrael's heart when he realized how much faith the headmaster had in him, but Azrael's rationalism crushed the guilt to pieces immediately.
Azrael took a sip from the tea and then he put on a smile.
"Thank you, sir, for believing in us. That really means a lot coming from you."
Sniffle~!
Maddison sniffled from the side and Azrael turned to the side sharply to see her rubbing the back of her hand against her eyes. The headmaster looked at Maddison worriedly and Maddison shook her head when he asked her if there was something wrong.
"No, sir. I-I'm just happy. Thank you."
The headmaster smiled and lifted the teacup away from her hand before a box of tissues floated in front of her, allowing her to clean herself up. The headmaster then spoke up with a smile.
"Well, I'm glad we could have this conversation. I felt it was paramount that I spoke to you personally to make sure you understood just how remorseful I was concerning the recent incident. I can assure you that you both would be well protected and treated as students of this school, regardless of whatever accusation is leveled against you. You will not be treated any differently from any of the other students."
