City-B

Jeremy Night reached the city a few hours later. The guards were surprised to see him; only a few people had returned during this time.

Most of them were Tier-4 Beast Tamers, while he was only a Tier-3 Beast Tamer. He didn't offer any explanations. When he showed his badge, their doubts cleared, and they allowed him to enter.

He walked into the city. He didn't go far before he found a nearby inn. He went inside and booked a room. He went to the room and inserted his key to open the door.

Creak!

The door opened. He walked into the room and shut the door. Then, he used his senses to scan the room. There was nothing abnormal inside, so he put his heart at ease and began to sleep.

The next morning,

He woke up late. He got out of bed and did his morning routine. After completing it, he walked downstairs.

He had enjoyed a good sleep last night, though it was only for a few hours. He then handed the key to the owner before leaving the inn.

Jeremy didn't leave the area immediately. He found a cafe not far away. He went to the cafe and found an empty seat to sit down.

The staff came to take his order. He simply ordered a cup of coffee and a plate of scrambled eggs.

After placing the order, he started listening to the surrounding conversations. He raised his eyebrows in surprise. He didn't expect people to still be looking for the rumored relic everywhere.

What's more, he found out one more interesting piece of information: no one was talking about the old city.

The old city seemed to be a dangerous place; everyone excluded its name from the list.

Shortly afterwards, his order arrived. He started eating while the other customers discussed the rumored relic. Everyone was offering an opinion. Jeremy continued to listen as he ate.

20 minutes later,

He left the shop and approached a cab driver. He didn't plan on staying in the city. He entered the cab and sat in the back seat. The driver started driving towards the airport. It didn't take long to reach it.

He completed the process smoothly. Tickets to the next flight were available, so he bought one and boarded the flight.

Only after sitting in his seat did he put his heart at ease. He had been worried that someone would try to inspect him, but he was worried for nothing.

His Tier-3 strength was a good cover. Nobody would have imagined that the rumored relic was found randomly inside a government building.

Still, Jeremy didn't know for sure whether it was the rumored relic or not, but he thought the chances were high because he had thoroughly explored other places and found nothing.

The flight took off. He collected his thoughts and rested.

...

5th Zone, City-A,

A few days later,

The fortified flight reached City-A. Once it landed at the airport, the passengers started exiting one by one.

Jeremy followed the others and completed the process before exiting the airport. He approached one of the drivers there and entered a cab.

Shortly afterwards, the car left the airport and followed the flow of traffic.

The air traffic was heavy today. Jeremy Night was surprised; he wondered whether anything had happened during his absence.

20 minutes later,

The cab reached the destination. It entered the gate and arrived in front of the building. When the cab stopped, Jeremy stepped outside and paid the fare.

Then, he walked into the building. The next second, he was greeted by noise. The members were going about their business.

Usually, there wouldn't be this many members in the morning, yet he saw a large number of them this time.

Jeremy frowned. He realized something was up. He turned towards the office and saw familiar faces there.

He decided to ask them what was happening. Once he got there, he found a familiar staff member.

"Hey, Paul!"

"What's going on here?" Jeremy asked.

Hearing that, a middle-aged man turned around and saw him.

"Hey, kid. You are back." Paul came over to him. "It appears that you have come back at a bad time," Paul said in a serious tone.

"What happened?" Jeremy asked.

Paul said, "A beast tide occurred earlier. Everyone thought it was a small tide, but the number of corrupted beasts is increasing. That's why the members are getting ready to go there."

Hearing that, Jeremy understood why the air traffic was more hectic than usual. He thanked Paul before heading towards his room.

A few minutes later,

After reaching his room, he entered and shut the door. He went to the bed and lay down.

He had been thinking about resting, but he didn't expect a beast tide to occur. A Beast Tide is different from a Beast Invasion.

The Beast Tide was not targeted at the city. Instead, they occur randomly due to various reasons.

Some occur due to fights between higher-tier beasts; some happen when they follow the orders of higher-tier beasts to attack other corrupted beasts.

Jeremy thought some higher-tier beast must be involved. He didn't know whether it was mandatory to go.

If the City Governors were involved, then it would be mandatory. He checked his device. He didn't have any notifications from the administration.

It showed that it was not mandatory to participate. He sighed in relief and closed his eyes to rest.

Meanwhile,

Head Harold got the news of Jeremy Night's return. He was surprised; he had thought it would take a few more weeks for Jeremy to return.

He didn't expect the kid to come back so soon. He wondered whether the kid had completed the mission.

He knew there were people targeting the kid here. Stephen had found some intel, but he was still working on that.

Harold frowned. A Beast Tide was taking place. He didn't want Jeremy Night to be targeted by hidden arrows. He was sure that they were looking for Jeremy Night till now.
