STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 751: Maroon stone
City B-Wilderness
Jeremy Night was using his eye ability. After spending an hour, he was about to give up and thought of moving on to the next location.
This wilderness river was special to him because he had never seen a river cutting across the wilderness like this. He wanted to stay here to search, but he had other areas to cover.
Buzz!
Just as he turned around to leave, the unknown beast egg shook and vibrated. He was startled the next second. He knew his lifeline beast wouldn’t move without a reason.
So, he stopped in his tracks. He used his eye power to zoom into the surroundings.
There was no one there. He didn’t find anything special hidden in the area. Finally, his gaze landed on the ground.
He used x-ray vision to scan the ground where he was standing. His gaze pierced through the surface and fell upon a strange stone. He wondered if the strange stone had caused the reaction.
Buzz!
The unknown beast egg shook again. His heart skipped a beat. He had come here to find a relic but never expected to stumble upon a stone that was useful to the unknown beast egg.
The beast egg needed many resources to hatch. Special treasures were even better, but they were hard to find. Now, he had stumbled upon one randomly. He controlled his excitement.
Then, he made sure that no one was around and started digging. Soon, he dug it up and saw a fist-sized maroon stone. The stone was beautiful. He touched the stone the next second.
The stone cracked and a small piece fell off. He was stunned. The stone was fragile. He decided to handle it carefully. He picked up the large piece first. He was about to put it away inside a box.
Swoosh!
The maroon stone disappeared. It reappeared above the unknown beast egg.
Seeing that, he was stunned. Last time, he had found an arrow-headed stone with purple lines.
The unknown beast egg had consumed it. Upon receiving the feedback, he had gained a purple hue in his veins.
Until today, he hadn’t figured out the use of that. Now he had another maroon stone, and he didn’t know what the outcome would be.
Swoosh!
The unknown beast egg began consuming the maroon energy from the stone. However, it was only available in small quantities. The unknown beast egg completed the absorption in the blink of an eye.
The stone disappeared. Seeing that, he waited for feedback, but feedback didn’t arrive this time. He then picked up the other small piece and found no reaction from the unknown beast egg.
His mouth twitched. Suddenly, he noticed people appearing from behind. He hurriedly put the small fragment away inside his storage ring.
"Hey, kid!"
"Show us the item."
"What did you find?"
"He dug up something. It must be something useful."
He heard the voices coming from behind. Jeremy stood up and ignored them. There were four Tier-4 Beast Tamers, but he was not afraid of them. He then started walking forward.
The maroon stone gave him hope. He decided to go further down there. He might even come across the rumored relic.
The faces of the four Beast Tamers behind him changed drastically. They didn’t expect a mere Tier-3 Beast Tamer to disrespect them.
They had seen this kid earlier and had come here out of curiosity. Then they saw him digging something up. Even if it wasn’t the rumored relic, it had to be something useful.
"Go catch him!" one of them said.
Two of them stepped forward and started walking toward the kid. These two intended to prevent the kid from running away, knowing he might have an escape-type lifeline beast.
"Kid, stop!" the burly warrior threatened.
He didn’t want to kill the kid. As long as the kid handed over the item, they would spare him. Beside him, a skinny warrior with crooked teeth accompanied him.
Jeremy felt a slight killing intent. He paused his footsteps and turned around to look at them. He saw the two Beast Tamers walking up to him. Clearly, they did not have good intentions.
"Senior, I don’t have anything. Why are you causing trouble? The other teams are not far from here. I will shout. I doubt you would do anything to me," Jeremy said to them.
Hearing that, their faces changed drastically.
Boom!
The burly man lost his cool and summoned his lifeline beast. A 15-foot tall, gigantic brown bear appeared next to him.
Roar!
The presence itself was intimidating, the beast’s roar sending out shockwaves that immediately swept through the surroundings.
Jeremy withstood the force. It was a Tier-4 Ground Bear. Such beasts were sensitive to treasures, such as natural fruits and herbs.
Jeremy didn’t want to slay the beast. The ground bear saw its target. The burly man grinned and said, "See that? If you don’t want to die, then hand over the thing you dug up."
Swoosh!
Jeremy unsheathed his blade. He held the handle tightly, the blade tip pointing downward.
"Ha... Ha... Ha...!" the burly man let out a laugh.
The skinny man beside him cracked a wide grin. The other two Beast Tamers stood at a distance, watching the show.
They knew the young Beast Tamer would be scared. There was a significant gap between Tier-3 and Tier-4 Beast Tamers.
But the next second, their jaws almost dropped to the ground.
Slice!
Jeremy used a blade move to make a small cut. The blade sliced through the flesh of the bear.
Pfff!
Blood splattered across the ground. The ground bear was stunned; it hadn’t expected to suffer injuries. The burly and skinny men looked into each other’s eyes, their expressions filled with shock.
Roar!
The ground bear let out a blood-curdling scream. Enraged, it charged toward the enemy. Jeremy’s eyes followed the beast. He shifted his body and avoided the attack.
The beast missed and went past him. Jeremy’s eyes flickered. He turned toward the burly man and the skinny man.
Swoosh!
He closed the gap in a few seconds. Under the shocked gaze of the two, he made another slash. The blade cut through the flesh of the two Beast Tamers.
Puchak!
Blood spurted from their injuries the next second.
