Chapter 672: Part 1: Purple mists

5th Zone, City-A

Old Garage

The area was under the cover of an invisible layer. The source of the invisible layer was a large device located underground.

The device was the reason why the beast went unnoticed. Unless someone destroys the device, no one will be able to know about it.

The Black Scorpion’s eyes flashed with an evil glint. It was surprised that it couldn’t crush the Tier-3 Human Ant.

Jeremy was standing a few meters away from it. His expression was solemn. The appearance of the corrupted beast here puzzled him.

He didn’t know what the city governors and others were doing. Normally, they should have sensed the beast, right?

"Wrong?" He thought.

The beast’s appearance was not a coincidence.

But he knew this was not the time to ponder. It was time to act.

Jeremy Night saw the Black Scorpion, especially the dark pincers. If anyone were caught by those pincers, they would be cut into pieces.

So, he was wary of the pincers. Since the confrontation was unavoidable, he decided to do something about them first.

Jeremy covered the blade edge with the single starlight thread again.

The blade edge, which was previously covered in hair-like white threads, now got another layer imposed on it. Now, the edge appeared as a thin white layer.

Jeremy’s eyes flickered. He thought that with the added layer, the power must be strong. He hoped that the blade could cut through the defense.

The Tier-6 Black Scorpion saw this Tier-3 Human. Its eyes flashed with contempt and disdain.

When was the last time a Tier-3 Human Ant tried to attack? The beast was enraged. It was already in anger because someone had locked it up underground for years.

Only today had someone lifted the seal. It had planned to leave earlier, but unexpectedly, it encountered a human beast tamer.

It had been ages since it tasted human blood. So, it took the liberty to stay here and enjoy the human flesh and blood.

"Explosive Step!"

Jeremy burst forth with explosive speed the next second. In a zig-zag manner, his body moved towards the beast.

The Scorpion didn’t move an inch from the spot. It was already looking down on the Tier-3 Ant Human. It didn’t believe the Human Ant could injure it.

Swoosh!

Jeremy appeared next to the right pincer of the beast.

Cut!

He brought the blade downward. The blade pierced through the skin before slicing through the hand.

Pfff!

Blood spurted out all of a sudden. The blade continued to sweep forward. The blade length was not long enough to sever the pincer from the right hand of the beast.

The Scorpion finally felt the pain. Its anger went through the roof. A Tier-3 Human Ant had injured it. It brought the deadly stinger forward. The sharp point was ready to inject the venom.

Swoosh!

Jeremy saw the stinger coming right at him, so he moved backward to avoid it. His expression turned solemn.

The beast was well above the Tier-5 category. Unlike other lower-tier beasts, he needed many right moves to kill it.

But he doubted that the beast would give him the opportunity.

Swoosh!

The Scorpion disappeared before his eyes. His senses screamed at him. Jeremy understood that the beast was using its speed.

Without thinking further, he used his movement technique again.

He bolted out from the place and started going towards the nearest building. He was moving in a zig-zag manner.

He could feel something chasing him from behind. When he was about to change direction to run in a zig-zag pattern, a sense of crisis gripped his heart.

Instead of taking the turn, he ran straight forward. The building was right in front of him. He ran inside and started running up the stairs.

Boom!

The scorpion beast ran into the building. The 1st and 2nd floors were hit hard. The building got damaged from the collision and started to crumble.

Jeremy didn’t stop. He could tell that the building was falling down. He quickly reached the end of the corridor.

Break!

He broke the glass before rushing through the opening. His body fell from the second floor.

There was a small building next to the big one. He landed on the rooftop. He didn’t stop there and continued to run.

He decided to use the building as cover. He had underestimated the Tier-6 Beast. The breakthrough gave him confidence, but he didn’t want to be overconfident.

He knew nothing about the Tier-6 Beast. The speed of the Tier-6 Beast had already surpassed him.

If not for his body being small compared to the beast, and running in a zig-zag manner to hinder its speed, he would have already been caught.

He didn’t want to engage without knowing the details about the beast.

Boom!

The next second, he heard a loud sound behind him. Without stopping, he slightly glanced back to see what was going on.

His pupils shrank. He saw the beast running through the buildings one after another to catch him.

The appearance of the beast was like a massive bulldozer. The buildings were crushed and falling apart.

Jeremy understood that it was time to make a decision. Earlier, he was thinking about dealing with the beast alone.

But he had missed the mastermind behind the incident. Especially the driver who ran off earlier. He must know something.

His eyes turned cold. He changed the plan again. Instead of facing the beast, he resumed running.

Swoosh!

His body was hopping off from one rooftop to another. This whole area appeared to be under some kind of renovation project.

The mastermind behind the incident had hatched an evil plan here.

Boom!

The next second, he heard the sound right behind him. He turned around and saw the massive beast was a breath away from catching him.

When the pincer was about to catch him, his body was still in mid-air. He needed a second to land, but the pincer was closer.

"Am I going to die here?" A thought appeared in Jeremy Night’s mind.

"No, I’m not going to die here. I want to be a stronger beast tamer!" He roared out loud in his heart with anger.
