STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 662: Part 1: Tier-5 Blood Rat
5th Zone, City A
Wilderness
After erasing the traces of the fight, he left the place. Since the illegal gang member came from that direction earlier, he decided to follow the same route.
As time went by, he ventured deeper. He could feel the aura of the wilderness getting stronger and richer. Even the wilderness aura could make one’s heart shudder.
The scent of a powerful corrupted beast lingered in the air.
That night, he found large bedrock crevices to rest. The narrow crack was enough for a human to live in, but it could not accommodate the size of the corrupted beasts.
Jeremy leaned against the rock wall. He didn’t start a fire. As early as late evening, he had entered the crevices to rest.
Since it was his first journey, he wanted to be clear about the situation. He picked up the device and started going over the map.
He understood that he was still at the edge of the deep part of the wilderness. Only by going further inside could one encounter Tier-4 and Tier-5 corrupted beasts and above.
He had come across lower-tier beasts during his journey, but he had spared their lives. They would become training beasts for the other Beast Tamers entering the wilderness.
Right now, he was more interested in finding the whereabouts of the illegal members. Both Head Harold and Neil Moon trusted him with this matter.
He absolutely could not fail. After going through the map, he put the device back in the storage ring. He then used his keen senses to observe the surroundings.
There were no signs of beasts roaming around this area. He knew the human zones were surrounded by different wilderness habitats.
The one at the 9th Zone was extremely different. Even the wilderness of the 9th Zone was polluted, but they didn’t have the problem of the Colossal Beasts.
However, he thought that Colossal Beasts could be roaming around here in the unexplored area. The map offered little information about the unexplored area.
He thought the information must be classified. He couldn’t expect to find it on a public platform. Then, he calmed his heart and tried to sleep.
Time flew by.
A four-meter-sized rat with blood-red eyes appeared near the bedrock. It had sensed the smell of a human.
The strength of the human was weak. It had found the prey long ago, but it had waited to see whether any other powerful beasts entered the vicinity.
The Tier-5 Blood Rat beast was fortunate. No other corrupted beasts were around this area right now. It was a good opportunity to taste a living human instead of corpses.
Blood Rat beasts survived by feeding on the corpses of beasts and humans. But by feeding on living things, they could increase their strength.
The beast came to the entrance. Its blood-red eyes flickered. It possessed intelligence. It could already tell that a human was inside, not moving.
It was the perfect time to attack. But the problem was the narrow crack. It was a bit risky for the Blood Rat beast to enter and noticed that the entrance was small.
The Blood Rat didn’t take the risk. It had survived countless dangers because of its cautiousness. It was not in a hurry to take down the human.
The Blood Rat beast then left the place. It was going to hide in its usual spot for the time being.
Time went by.
The next morning, Jeremy woke up. He opened his eyes and looked around. He realized that he was safe. No problems occurred last night.
He then stood up and decided to survey the surroundings. He walked out from the crevices and started observing the place.
Just as he walked a distance away from the bedrock, the unknown egg inside his mental zone felt a threat. It started becoming restless.
Jeremy felt the changes in the mental zone. He paused his footsteps. He knew this wouldn’t happen normally. The unknown beast egg only reacted if there was a treasure nearby or a threat.
His eyes gleamed with a twinkle. He took out the katana blade and held it in his hand. Then he started walking around the bedrock.
Swoosh!
The Blood Rat beast, which had been lying low all night, launched a sneak attack.
The speed was so fast that it was hard for anyone to block.
Boom!
Jeremy’s sense of crisis rose. His eyes only caught a glimpse of something flashing by. He unconsciously brought the blade between himself and the threat.
The next second, something collided with the blade. The impact force threw him backward. He lost his balance and rolled over the ground.
But he didn’t lose his grip on the katana blade. Jeremy felt some pain. Yet, he quickly stabilized himself and retreated further to widen the gap.
Thud!
The morning light made the Blood Rat beast’s appearance clear. The four-meter-sized Tier-5 Corrupted Beast was twice the size of a human.
It looked down at the human arrogantly. The tail of the rat beast was long. The claws on its legs were deadly sharp. Its mouth was filled with rows of deadly sharp teeth.
The blood-red eyes and menacing aura coming from the beast showed that it was a dangerous corrupted beast; it had killed countless beasts and humans and then fed on their corpses.
The blood-red eyes of the rat beast flickered. It was facing living human prey right now.
At the same time, Jeremy saw a clear view of the beast. Seeing that beast gave him a hint of a threat. He confirmed that the beast was above Tier-4. Possibly Tier-5.
If it were a Tier-6 beast, its size would be larger. Then, it wouldn’t have waited to ambush him.
Jeremy gripped the handle tightly. He started circulating the starlight power. A white liquid flowed out from his right palm and covered the katana blade in the blink of an eye.
He then started using his eye ability. The body of the rat beast became transparent in his eyes. He could see the flow of blood from the heart to other parts of the body.
