“The Buddha Ascension Art?!”

Long-browed Divine Monk was both shocked and angry.

The Buddha Ascension Art was a top-tier Magia in Lanke Temple. It was said to be a Magia left behind by the Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, after journeying to the west and ascending to the heavens.

Legend had it that the Buddha witnessed all sorts of suffering and atrocities during his journey to the west. So, he transformed into the Buddha and ascended to the heavens. White lotuses supported his every step, and an invigorating rain alleviated all suffering and blessed all living creatures. For a time, myriad suffering was delivered from the human world.

Naturally, the Buddha Ascension Art was beyond profound. It allowed the practitioner to ignore all arrays, restrictions, and Magia and ascend to the heavens. It also possessed the power to deliver people from suffering and purify evils.

It was a rare ultimate Magia and escape art even compared to every other art in the jianghu.

Although the Buddha Ascension Art, only the most talented and Buddha-like could even think of practicing it. Even considering the Lanke Temple’s long history, only a handful of monks were ever successful at grasping the Buddha Ascension Art, and those who practiced it to the extent Uncertain had was even fewer.

This wasn’t the reason Long-browed Divine Monk was shocked or angry, however. It was because Uncertain hadn’t yet grasped the Buddha Ascension Art before he betrayed the Lanke Temple and left. This meant that Uncertain had grasped the Buddha Ascension Art and advanced it to this extent in just the span of decades. It was the living proof of his sheer power of comprehension and closeness to the Buddha.

Uncertain was already incredibly slippery, but now it was next to impossible to capture him.

Even more than shock and anger, Long-browed Divine Monk was gripped by regret and sorrow.

Uncertain was the previous Son of Buddha of Lanke Temple. Considering the sheer talent and power of comprehension he displayed, Lanke Temple would almost certainly climb to greater heights, and Buddhism would become much more widespread and prosperous under his leadership. And yet, the man had chosen to stray off the righteous path and become the enemy of Lanke Temple.

How could he not be sad and regretful about all this?

“What do you think of my Buddha Ascension Art, senior uncle Longbrow?”

Uncertain looked down on Long-browed Divine Monk and smiled.

“Your Buddhism is wrong, senior uncle. You, and everyone else.”

“Is Buddhism who does not strive to save the people and deliver them from suffering even Buddhism? Can you even call yourself a Buddha?”

“You are wrong. You all are.”

Long-browed Divine Monk wore a severe expression, but he did not say anything.

“Hey. Hey! Monk! If you’re going to escape, at least bring us with you!”

Yi Pin panicked when he saw that Uncertain wasn’t going to bring them with him. He shouted in Uncertain’s direction, but the monk was gone before he even finished his sentence.

“That bastard! I knew he didn’t have an ounce of loyalty in him! Blessings be upon the boundless heavenly one, I should have known there isn’t a single good bald donkey in this world!”

Yi Pin swore loudly and riotously after seeing that Uncertain had escaped on his own. However, he was just starting when he felt an unkind gaze and turned to look. It was then he noticed that Long-browed Divine Monk was staring at him.

“Ahem… I was cursing Uncertain, the ungrateful, sect-betraying piece of bald donkey, divine monk. Not you.”

Yi Pin hurriedly explained himself, “Who doesn’t know that Long-browed Divine Monk is a benevolent, generous, kind-hearted Buddha incarnate who does his best to deliver the people from the suffering? You of all people cannot be a bald donkey, so don’t overthink it, divine monk!”

Unfortunately, Long-browed Divine Monk’s face only darkened with every word he spoke. “You know Uncertain?”

“Uncertain? Whozzat?”

Yi Pin tilted his head in confusion. “I don’t know a guy named Uncertain. Besides, it’s obvious from the name alone that he’s a bad egg. I am a benevolent, kind-hearted and generous good guy myself, you know! Why would I ever know an ungrateful, sect-betraying bastard like him?”

“Anyway, you guys do whatever it is you came here to do. I still have to get home and make dinner so, ciao!”

“Haha… what a cunning, silver-tongued bastard. Allow me to capture them for you, divine monk!”

It was at this moment a laugh suddenly broke out above Ye Qing and Yi Pin’s head.

The laughter was eerie and dark, anomalous and bewitching.

As the laughter continued, space distorted, and arms reached out of the distorted space and grabbing the duo.

The arms looked tangible, but they were really not. They easily passed through the profound light surrounding Ye Qing and into his headspace, making a grab for his mind.

A cold, anomalous energy spread out immediately. It threatened to corrupt and freeze his mind solid.

“Get lost!”

It was at this moment Ye Qing’s yang god, sitting high above his Paranirmita Vasavartin Heaven, opened his eyes and roared. Demonic thought immediately flooded like the sea and engulfed the arms.

However, right before he would annihilate the arms, a ghastly silhouette appeared soundlessly behind Ye Qing and his Heavenly Demon yang god.

The ghastly silhouette looked like a transparent mountain of flesh. There was a giant maw where the belly button should be, and the giant maw was filled with rows and rows of sharp teeth. A closer look would reveal that the teeth were really savage ghosts hanging upside down inside the maw’s cavity.

Through the opening, one could see multiple layers of space inside the giant maw. There was a sea of inferno, a frigid land, a mountain of blades, a land filled with pots of boiling oil, a millstone that ground it all… it looked like the Eighteen Hells themselves.

At the peak of the mountain of flesh was a single head. The head had three faces: a child, a teenager, and an old man’s.

The three faces looked similar to each other, so rather than the faces of three different people, it looked more like the face of one person when he was a child, a teenager, and an old man.

Frankly, even Ye Qing’s Heavenly Demon yang god was a tad small compared to the mountain of flesh.

An evil grin spread across all three faces. The next moment, the maw on the stomach split open and moved toward Ye Qing.

Ye Qing did not seem to notice a thing.

At the last moment, Ye Qing on his throne let out a cold chuckle. “I’ve been waiting.”

As he spoke, Ye Qing opened his palm and summoned a bronze bell.

The bronze bell grew large in the blink of an eye, and Ye Qing gently gave it a tap.

THANG!

Profound light shone, and a bell chime resounded throughout his headspace.

The profound light struck the ghastly silhouette like an inferno. It immediately started melting like a candle as the three faces let out a bloodcurdling scream.

Before the ghastly silhouette could escape, the bell chime reached it next and scattered it into pieces. The profound light then burned it all into ash.

As soon as the ghastly silhouette was killed, Ghost Taisui suddenly let out a bloodcurdling scream as if he suffered a massive injury.

At the same time, his body suddenly ripped open like it was a piece of fabric, and a ghastly silhouette crawled out into the open.

It looked exactly the same as the ghastly silhouette in Ye Qing’s headspace earlier.

Right now though, the ghastly silhouette was covered in cracks. Dark, evil qi was seeping out of them.

The three faces were screaming in pain just like the one inside Ye Qing’s headspace had.

“Here’s a big gift for you, seniors.”

It was at this moment Ye Qing opened his eyes. His eyes shone like stars, his vigor ran like a river, and profound light shone out of his skin until he looked as bright as the moon and as grand as the sun. For a moment, he looked like a god or a celestial.

The next moment, a bronze bell appeared in the sky. As big as the Cyan Mountain itself, it was vast and mysterious, thick and grand.

Ye Qing raised his fist and punched it.

The bronze bell shook, but no sound leaked out.

Ye Qing did not stop. He punched it a couple more times; each punch heavier than the last.

Still, not a sound resounded in the air.

“Five colors illuminates heaven and earth, a grand bell chime suppresses celestials and demons!”

Ye Qing channeled all of his vigor and punched the bronze bell one last time. The bell shook violently for a moment and, as if it could not withstand the backlash, Ye Qing’s right fist exploded into a shower of blood and gore.

The next second, even the blood and flesh disintegrated into ash.

“KILL!”
