Strange Worlds-Chapter 298: Quarterfinal (8)
Chapter 298: Quarterfinal (8)
The other three patriarchs turned to look at the Black Family Patriarch.
"Is that not too harsh...?" the Green Family Patriarch raised his voice.
"No, it’s not." the Black Family Patriarch shook his head and said in a cold voice. "Such a person is not worthy to be the future patriarch of the Black Family."
In the past, the Black Family Patriarch was still adopting the posture of wait and see. This was mostly because the Black Family Patriarch felt that Leon could still get a chance to win or change the situation. After all, Leon was still growing and might grow stronger with time.
But today, the Black Family Patriarch realized that he was thinking too much.
Leon’s future achievements wouldn’t be too high with such a talent and the Black Family Patriarch didn’t want to wait anymore.
Rather than focusing on Leon... it would be better for the Black Family Patriarch to focus on Lilac. At the very least, the Black Family Patriarch knew that his daughter’s talent was very good. With that, the Black Family Patriarch looked in his son’s direction once more and then shook his head and left.
There was nothing to watch.
"Are you not interested in Dylan Black?" The White Family Patriarch suddenly asked.
The other two patriarchs also looked in the Black Family Patriarch’s direction curiously. It was rare to have such a genius appear in the branch family. If he was cultivated well, he should be able to reach rank 5 within a few more years.
At that time, what they needed to do was to give him a rank 5 magic spell to learn.
"No." the Black Family Patriarch looked at Dylan Black, who was standing there, and sneered. He could see that Dylan Black had a bad impression of the main family and he himself also knew the reason.
Isn’t it the matter of the former relatives from the main family?
Since the Black Family Patriarch is the head of the family, he naturally knew the background for many of the family’s members. The matter of Silas back then had given the Black Family Patriarch a lot of headache. Now there was a Dylan.
Moreover, in terms of relationship, Dylan was further away from him, so the Black Family Patriarch could be more ruthless.
He didn’t have much feelings for this young man in the first place.
"I see." The Green Family Patriarch could see that the Black Family Patriarch really didn’t like this child and sighed in his heart but he said nothing more. Because he knew that this was the private matter of the Black Family, not something that he could meddle in.
The four of them then went their own separate ways.
The Red Family Patriarch wanted to talk with his son and taught other methods of the Red Family. He could see that Dean was getting better and what the Red Family Patriarch wanted was for his son to be even better in the future.
They all left.
And in the arena, Dylan also walked away after the referee announced that he had won. He looked at the side and saw Evan looking in his direction coldly.
All of them were angry when they saw that Leon nearly died in Dylan’s hand.
The good arena’s battle turned into a life and death’s battle because of Dylan’s action.
Who would not be angry?
"I’ll beat him up," Evan said solemnly, making a promise to himself.
"Yeah." Dean nodded.
Their battles were more like a spar while the battle between Leon and Dylan were like a battle between mortal enemies.
Even though they have never actually interacted with each other before...
But the two of them could see that Leon’s situation was not very good.
"Leon, are you injured?" Aya looked at Leon up and down and frowned slightly. She did block that rank 3 magic spell with her magical physical attack, but there was still a possibility that she might have missed some of the shockwave.
After all, she didn’t really use magic to make a wall or anything like that.
"Huh?" Leon raised his head and quickly shook his head. "No, don’t talk nonsense. I’m fine..."
Leon took a deep breath and forced a smile on his face. But at this moment, he was looking at the marks on the ground, feeling that he was really weak.
There was indeed a gap between their ages.
But, it has never been an excuse.
He’s weak.
That is a fact.
This made Leon feel really unwilling and he looked up only to see his father leaving with his sister. He could see the cold profile of the Black Family Patriarch and felt that his father didn’t even want to look in his direction.
"I’m not injured. I.... I’ll be going first."
With that, Leon rushed forward.
The others wanted to check on Leon’s condition but saw that Leon was running towards the Black Family Patriarch. They subconsciously stopped because they felt that they shouldn’t meddle in this matter.
"It’s really unfortunate," Silas whispered in a low voice.
To be honest, Silas could understand that these patriarchs only wanted their descendants to be powerful. Because only if they were capable enough would it be possible for them to become the future patriarchs.
But Leon...
*sigh*
It might be because of his comparison and also Lilac’s presence that made the Black Family Patriarch realized that Leon’s talent was not very good.
It wouldn’t be easy for Leon.
Aya said nothing and pursed her lips.
She wanted to follow Leon but in the end, she couldn’t do it. Because she knew that there were some matters that Leon had to face clearly by himself.
"Father..."
Hearing his son’s voice, the Black Family Patriarch stopped and then looked at Leon coldly. Towards this son who was a disappointment to him, the Black Family Patriarch had nothing to say.
"I..."
"Train more," the Black Family Patriarch said lightly and then left, not wanting to see Leon anymore.
Leon was stunned in place as he watched the Black Family Patriarch’s back.
He understood.
His father... had abandoned him.
