The air was thick with tension as Lyra and Kael stood frozen, their eyes locked onto the shadows. Elian's voice cut through the silence, his tone laced with a hint of amusement.

"Kael, you're getting soft," Elian said, his eyes glinting with mischief. "I've never seen you love someone before."
Kael's face darkened, his jaw clenched in a mixture of anger and embarrassment. "Shut up, Elian," he growled, his voice low and menacing.
But Elian just chuckled, his eyes never leaving Kael's face. "I'm serious, Kael. You're changing. And I'm not sure it's for the better."
Lyra's eyes flashed with anger, her voice rising in defense of Kael. "That's not fair, Elian. Kael's still the same person he's always been."
Elian's gaze shifted to Lyra, his expression softening slightly. "I'm not trying to hurt Kael's feelings, Lyra. I'm just stating the obvious. He's never been in love before. And it's changing him."
Zain, who had been quietly observing the exchange, spoke up, her voice calm and soothing. "I think Elian has a point, Lyra. Kael is changing. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing."
Lyra's eyes narrowed, her expression skeptical. "What do you mean?"
Zain's gaze shifted to Kael, her eyes filled with a warm smile. "Kael's always been driven by his sense of duty and responsibility. But now, he's starting to realize that there's more to life than just following orders."
Kael's face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger. But Zain's words struck a chord, and he felt a pang of recognition. Maybe Zain was right. Maybe he was changing.
