Starting with Growing Mushrooms-Chapter 347 - 268: It Was All Predestined!
"What a terrifying realm."
God had several brief encounters, showing a surprised expression towards the Goddess of Destiny in front of him.
The reality was as he had anticipated.
He was simply waiting for the other party to break through, to see how strong the Seventh Tier was!
This is a historic breakthrough.
Seventh Tier.
How could he possibly stop it?
Moreover, the Goddess of Destiny stepping into the Seventh Tier was within the most forgiving range.
Due to the side effects of destiny, her physical form was too weak!
But even so.
The woman before him soared up, wielding a level of understanding far beyond the Sixth Tier, with a far superior quality of Telekinesis attacking continuously.
Fast like a fleeting shadow, even God found it difficult to catch her.
"Even the weakest Seventh Tier possesses such a formidable basic power that commands fear..."
God strolled as if in a leisurely manner, clearly moving slowly, yet able to dodge the clawing attacks of the Goddess of Destiny.
Without the blessing of destiny.
The Goddess of Destiny lost her elegant foresight of the future, unable to see what lies ahead and could only rely on her innate combat skills.
But in this regard, she was utterly hopeless.
"Incomprehensible Telekinesis, unimaginable physical strength."
"As long as you’re not the God of Destiny, any other god, even if you’re not a god... a normal person breaking through to the Seventh Tier might defeat me in an instant."
It’s a pity, you are destiny.
God silently assessed various data and combat power.
"You can’t wield fire, water, or wind with Divine Power, only the destiny peasant punches."
God dodged the attack like a wisp of willow, gently extending his foot.
The Goddess of Destiny’s body, thrown forward with a punch, was tripped hard and crashed into a distant asteroid belt, making her dizzy.
This dramatic scene was witnessed by others and later formed a mythical anecdote:
The stumbling block of destiny.
"It hurts!" She, lacking any systematic warrior training to resist pain and impact.
Finally couldn’t keep up the facade of the aloof Goddess of Destiny, her true nature revealed, carefree and forgetful.
"Ah!"
The Goddess of Destiny’s scream seemed to pierce through the entire expanse of stars, she screamed wildly, "You bastard God, you actually humiliated me by tripping me!"
She began to charge madly, her flowery fists pounding incessantly upon God.
"How is it possible..." Fortuna uttered in disbelief, "My speed is faster than yours, my strength is greater than yours..."
"The only thing commendable about you is your defense."
God strolled leisurely, "With your Seventh Tier defense, you are harder to beat than any punching bag I’ve encountered."
As the words fell, God’s attacks arrived as expected, the wildly raging God’s Fist struck down like raindrops, dispersing the starlight overhead, transforming into a new expanse of starlight.
Violent explosions, terrifying dust.
"I can’t hold it, I can’t hold it, I’m clearly Seventh Tier." Fortuna watched as a fist as large as a cooking pot aimed at her exquisite face, her head instantly swelled, and her entire body flew backward.
Ideal is full, reality is bony.
When Fortuna had never fought, she thought combat was just like that, that I could do it.
But when she truly stepped into the arena...
"Ah!" The explosive damage was accompanied by Fortuna’s screams, "Even if I only have a trace of Seventh Tier attack power, I clearly have the defense of a normal Seventh Tier strongman, how could I be so easily shattered..."
No hesitation, no mercy.
God swung his second punch unaffected, the target was her left face, in the next moment Fortuna’s jaw was dislocated and flew out.
Pain, too much pain, Fortuna let out an angry scream, suddenly rushing towards God with a headbutt.
Because of her anger, she lost even the basic combat stance, but this common brawl-like approach of pouncing on God, biting, clawing at his face, and tearing at his hair.
Bam!
The next moment, Fortuna flew out again, only to be shocked and furious. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Cain cheered from the sidelines, "Beat him, beat him! Kill this destiny little b*tch!"
The Demon King sang along, "No, right now she looks like a destiny shrew."
Fortuna coughed up blood in rage.
"Seventh Tier’s defense is really durable." God said blandly, "You can’t even open a defensive force field, relying purely on your physical body’s defense, you’ve actually made my fists hurt."
From afar, the gods watching the battle, and the heavily injured Bal who could barely stand, all became excited, flashing intense trepidation.
Even Seventh Tier... the Goddess of Destiny couldn’t defeat God?
"Damn it! Is it going to be like this?"
Bal, exhausted, recalled God’s elegant attitude from dealing with him to dealing with Fortuna, and couldn’t contain his rising anger.
"I want to go through the Twelve Trials of Destiny," he coldly spat out the words.
"Bal, you’re crazy? You, such a powerful existence, cannot possibly endure the Twelve Trials right now."
Bal replied, "No, as a Combat General, needing a non-combat proficient leader to personally intervene is an insult to me, worse than death!"
"No way!"
Moira gritted her teeth, "Neither I nor Fortuna will build a new trial ground for you."
Bal was stunned, looking towards the battlefield in the sky, watching a non-combat proficient woman swing flowery punches and get toyed with by God.
Bal’s eyes flashed with endless frustration.
Is this how it ends?
Is God really invincible?
God’s majesty is unoffendable, and Fortuna shall pay the price for her offense against God.
Clearly, Fortuna wanted to build a beautiful world where effort could change destiny...
"We still have one hope." Bal suddenly said.
"What hope?" Moira whispered.
"It’s you!" Bal said, "To pass the almost impossible Twelve Trials, two rigid conditions must be met: One, being sufficiently weak, and two, having innate strong luck!"
"The Goddess of Destiny just meets these, and that includes you!"
"Me?" Moira shrunk her neck timidly, her eyes widening, "I, I can’t do it! I don’t have what it takes! I simply don’t have that talent!"
"Pull yourself together; now only you can break the stalemate!"
Bal said, "Take the trials; unlike your sister, I sensed that you possess combat aptitude!"
"I sensed boundless potential within you, and I am willing to be your combat mentor and accompany you through the Twelve Trials!"
During their conversation.
In the sky, the strong-willed Fortuna was desperately attacking God, trembling hands, nervously clenching her fists, biting her lower lip, in a most squalid manner, swinging her fists.
"Sister, in tension." Moira stared blankly at the sky, clearly knowing that once Fortuna was nervous, she’d bite her lower lip.
Why would the solution lead to such tension?
Sister grasped the destiny of seeing the future; she could see various possibilities in the future.
Is it possible that in all branches of fate she witnessed, she would be killed by God?
100% destined to die, no way out at all?
"Impossible? Can seeing the future not change the destined death outcome? We’ve clearly done our utmost!"
Moira looked at the leisurely God, feeling a terrifying sense of oppression.
This God, from start to finish, has been playing games...
"Going to die?" Moira’s expression gradually turned hazy, her mind seemingly recalling the alley on the day before death.
Dark corner, sharp mud, pungent smell of blood, crazy grin of the assailant.
Two dependent sisters shivering, constantly retreating, even though nervousness made the sounds then become blurred, and the assailant’s appearance hard to remember...
Only remembering those scarlet eyes, the sharp dagger piercing fiercely!
Thud!
Oddly, without thinking, she instinctively blocked in front of her sister, falling in the pool of blood murmuring:
"Fortuna, this is my fate, Moira’s fate, this is the fate leading to my death; fate is unchangeable."
"No, damn fate, I, Fortuna, will change fate! I will strive to change all this!"
Thousands of years later, as if those two sentences became the beginning of fate.
I became a Goddess unable to change death.
She became a Goddess of striving to change the future.
"Fate... fate... fate... Ah! I seem to finally understand." Moira raised her head, looking at the disheveled Fortuna.
Ancient memories slowly began to emerge.
Scenes of assailants chasing Fortuna...
Scenes of God chasing Fortuna...
Gradually overlapped.
In a daze, she seemingly returned to that alley, herself blocking that fate-bound dagger for Fortuna.
"I see, so fate is this wondrous... the assailant, Fortuna and I, all our fates have long been predestined."
"If this time one has to die, then let me die once more in place of my sister, standing in front of God, this assailant!"
Moira revealed an enlightened expression, a melancholic sigh echoed,
"Because.. this too is fate."
I am Moira; I died in the past.
I indeed thought I’d long since died, my consciousness returned to nothingness until I gained a power from Divine Object.
I awakened again in past death.
I mastered predetermined death; I will substitute Fortuna... filling her 100% destined-to-die, battlefield loss fate.
"You are right, Bal, I no longer have a choice now."
The next moment, even though nervously timid and shaking, Moira clenched and unclenced her fist.
"Even if I have to die a second time for my sister."
"Fate is unchangeable; everything of ours, are cycling that day’s fate!"
"Turns out it was predestined all along!"
Bal beside her heard these words, revealing a gratified smile.
He knew character determines fate, some people are not born fighters, and recognizes how difficult it is for someone as timid as Moira to take this step.
Bal whispered, "You’re remarkable."
Next, I, Bal General of the Eighth Divine Era, will train a real monster.
Looking at the resolute Moira, he mused secretly, "If someone must die, if someone must help Fortuna to achieve victory... then let useless you substitute Fortuna to die once."
Bal clearly understands what the consequences of this action will be.
Even if now persuading Moira, even if victorious later, Fortuna will settle accounts with him, execute him, because this action likely killed Moira.
Yet, didn’t Bal also sacrifice his spirit?
I, Bal, also at this moment see the mission of my fate.
Even knowing the aftermath leads to death, I will make this choice for that perfect destined world, for my destiny savior...
Bal’s expression gradually steadfastened:
"To conquer God, destiny requires the resolve to sacrifice."
"Because any victorious fate doesn’t arise without cause, in human history, across all destiny trajectories, all triumphs are through countless heroes’ blood and tears sacrifice."
"Even if it’s a fate leading to death, to realize my dream, I’d still choose to accept it; this is my Bal’s resolve."
"Let’s begin, my Twelve Trials." Moira didn’t speak, her fear causing her to tremble like a trembling little dog.
But she must do it, for Fortuna won’t last much longer.
The entire world began to tremble, twist, and distort, as everything started shifting.
A new Twelve Trials began anew.
"Sister, you were wrong; I, Moira, also possess the courage to conquer Twelve Trials!" She marched resolutely into the newly shining world.
