Starting with a Super Five-Star Hotel-Chapter 539 Seven Star Burst_1
"Hello, Miss Ning!" Su Xuan squinted slightly as he greeted Ning Wan.
Ning Wan merely nodded at him mechanically, a stark contrast to her usual elfin, quirky demeanor.
After a while, Ying Lan laid out a table of food and wine. Su Xuan and Ning Zhendao shared a seemingly amicable drink, while Ning Wan robotically poured tea and wine for them the entire time.
"Brother Feng Zhengyuan, I’ll be leaving with my daughter tomorrow," Ning Zhendao said to Su Xuan as the gathering drew to a close. "We’ll be off early in the morning, as we have other matters to attend to along the way. If you’re busy, there’s no need to see us off."
"I must, I definitely must," Su Xuan said, glancing at Ning Wan. He then bid farewell to Ning Zhendao and headed back to his own dwelling.
The night sky was filled with drifting clouds and devoid of moonlight, leaving the path under his feet pitch-black.
The questions in his heart were multiplying. Could it be that Ning Wan couldn’t wait for him to kill Ning Zhendao and decided to take matters into her own hands? Then she failed and was subdued by Ning Zhendao somehow? Is that why she now seems like a lifeless puppet, completely devoid of spirit?
"Feng Zhengyuan, stop right there!"
Just as he was approaching his residence, a stern shout erupted from behind him.
Su Xuan turned to look. It was a young man in a white Daoist robe whom he had never seen before.
"Feng Zhengyuan, let’s not even talk about you striking my two junior brothers. You actually dared to toy with Miss Miao Tong. I’d really like to know, who gave you the nerve?" The young man walked toward Su Xuan, his voice growing more sinister. "Was it that worthless master of yours? Or are you just driven mad by your desire for women?"
Su Xuan stood his ground, having a good idea of who the newcomer was.
This kid must be one of the Fifth Elder’s people.
He wasn’t wrong. The person who had come was indeed Tang Heng, the first disciple under the Fifth Elder. He was the strongest fighter among all the Fifth Elder’s disciples!
"But none of that matters now." Tang Heng stopped three steps away from Su Xuan and pointed at his nose. "How dare you refuse the sparring match the masters arranged? Do you have no respect for your elders, or do you have no respect for me?"
"Um..." Su Xuan suddenly scratched his head. "Are you really determined to fight me?"
"You’re not as dumb as you look!" Tang Heng’s lips curled into a smirk. "Since you’re afraid of making a fool of yourself in the arena, I had to come all the way to Golden Lotus Peak to find you. You’re not going to be scared on your own turf, are you?"
"Scared isn’t the right word," Su Xuan feigned distress. "It’s just... what happens if I accidentally injure you? This would be considered a private duel, wouldn’t it?"
"So you are scared!" Tang Heng sneered. "Rest assured. Even if you injure me—even if you cripple me—I won’t blame you in the slightest! I’ll just say that I trespassed on Golden Lotus Peak and provoked you on my own accord. It would be my own fault, with you bearing no blame. How does that sound?"
"No, no, let’s not do that!" Su Xuan waved his hand. "How about this? You go back to your own territory, I’ll follow you there, and we’ll fight on your turf. That way, if I injure or cripple you, all the blame will fall on me. How’s that?"
"Are you serious?" Tang Heng frowned.
"I am!" Su Xuan stretched his back. "I’ll be honest with you. I don’t want to be a part of this Immortal Mountain anymore. I’m dying to beat up every single prodigy and get myself kicked out of the sect!"
Su Xuan was telling the truth. But Tang Heng didn’t believe a word of it, and his fury only grew! He took it as a sign of utter contempt and a grave insult!
"Arrogant fool!"
Tang Heng suddenly struck, swinging his palm toward Su Xuan. At the same time, a cold mist billowed from his hand, rapidly coalescing into an ice blade. A sharp, chilling aura erupted from its tip, sending a shiver down the spine!
He had mastered the Xuanbing Palm to perfection!
SCHLICK!
The ice blade instantly pierced Su Xuan’s chest! A flicker of astonishment crossed Tang Heng’s face.
Did it really hit that easily? Su Xuan didn’t even react? If this is all the strength he has, how did he manage to steal Gongsun Miao Tong’s shoes?
"Not good!" Tang Heng suddenly cried out in alarm. The Su Xuan before him shattered and dissipated—it was just a clone or an afterimage!
In the next second, Tang Heng sensed a terrifyingly powerful presence behind him. He had no time to turn, only able to wrench his arm back and stab the ice blade behind him!
But it was too late!
THUMP!
A palm had already pressed against his back! Then, just as quickly, the palm retracted!
"Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
Su Xuan, having landed his blow, drifted back several meters and began an inexplicable countdown.
Instead of pursuing, Tang Heng bizarrely sat down cross-legged, his cultivation aura flaring up wildly!
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
A series of seven muffled bangs, like distant thunder, erupted from within his body.
SPURT!
Tang Heng coughed up a mouthful of blood! He raised a trembling hand to point at Su Xuan, his lips quivering, unable to form a word. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Su Xuan tilted his head. "Surprised? Lost for words?"
"You... You actually learned the Seven Star Burst?!" Tang Heng, who had no idea how many techniques Su Xuan had learned in the Enlightenment Pavilion, took a deep breath to suppress the chaotic energy in his body. Wiping the blood from his mouth, he asked in shock, "It takes ten years to successfully master a single burst of that technique. How could someone as young as you possibly achieve a seven-star burst?"
"Because I am the true prodigy!" Su Xuan’s lips curved into a handsome smile.
SPURT!
Tang Heng couldn’t stop himself from spitting up another mouthful of blood. Clutching his chest, he staggered to his feet and started to make his way down Golden Lotus Peak.
In this battle, he had been utterly defeated.
In the blink of an eye, Su Xuan had used two moves on him. The first was the Phantom Clone, which had completely deceived him. It left him wide open to take the full force of Su Xuan’s second move, the Seven Star Burst! The Seven Star Burst had directly shattered his seven spiritual souls. If he didn’t get back and seek help immediately, even if he survived, he would be bedridden for at least three or four months!
But he didn’t hate Su Xuan. He even felt a little grateful. Su Xuan had clearly held back; otherwise, the Seven Star Burst could have killed him on the spot!
"Hey, you! Remember to give your master a message when you get back," Su Xuan called out to Tang Heng’s retreating figure. "If he wants to cause trouble for me, tell him not to send children. The adults can come themselves!"
SPURT!
Tang Heng stumbled, choking up another mouthful of blood from pure rage.
Him, a child? He was the strongest combatant of the Fifth Elder’s entire lineage!
Hmph, I wonder if Gongsun Miao Tong will come looking for me tonight too? Su Xuan mused to himself as he watched Tang Heng disappear, then returned to his residence.
He had indeed held back. Otherwise, Tang Heng would be dead.
In his eyes... Tang Heng was weak. Very weak! This wasn’t a deliberate attempt to belittle him. It was simply the way a human looks at an ant, an innate feeling of the ant’s utter powerlessness!
TICK, TOCK!
Su Xuan didn’t go to sleep. He quietly tracked the passage of time. After a while, he slipped out of his residence and crept silently toward Ning Wan’s room...
Meanwhile, as Tang Heng was leaving Golden Lotus Peak, he encountered something utterly bizarre.
Perhaps it was a catastrophe.
He saw a terrifying thing.
And it didn’t want to let him go
