Start as a Spiritual Planter: I Have a Game Panel-Chapter 216: Rank A Skill: ‘Reconstruct’
Ram left the main control room, the building was quiet, everyone likely already trying to catch a few hours of uneasy sleep.
Once inside his room, he locked the door, he didn't bother with the light.
The faint glow from the city outside, filtering through the window, was enough.
He sat on the edge of the simple cot, the springs groaning faintly beneath his weight.
For a moment, he just sat there, letting the silence envelop him.
The events of the past few days, the truth about the mask, the constant threat of Shane and the Shadow Society, it was a lot to carry.
But there was no time for doubt. He needed clarity, a quiet space to think, to plan, and to tap into the unique resources at his disposal.
Closing his eyes, Ram focused his mind, reaching inward, calling upon the connection to his Sylvan Space.
He felt the familiar subtle shift, the slight disorientation as his consciousness, and then his physical body, began to transition.
The drab walls of the safe house room dissolved, replaced by the vibrant, living energies of his own personal dimension.
The air grew warmer, filled with the scent of earth and growing things.
He opened his eyes to the familiar sight of the towering Leaf-Dome Housing Plant and the faint, ethereal glow of the Sylvan Soul Tree in the distance.
The constant, gentle hum of life energy in his space was a soothing balm to his frayed nerves.
Here, at least, he felt slightly better, feeling everything under control, a sanctuary where he could gather his strength and prepare for the battles ahead.
For a moment, he simply stood there, letting the tranquility of his inner world seep into him.
Then, with purpose, he shifted his focus.
There was much to consider, many plans to adjust, but first, he wanted to check on the Mind Shadow Parasite.
Now, the parasite was already a peak Tier 3 creature.
Not long ago, after the parasite had successfully advanced to Tier 3, Ram carefully, grafted another new, powerful Rank A skill onto it: Reconstruct.
The process had been a significant expenditure of his own spiritual energy.
Rank A skills weren't easily acquired or integrated, but the potential benefits were too great to ignore.
After grafting the new skill, its body form had shifted from a delicate, insect-like organism with hair-thin tentacles to a solid, almost bio-mechanical nanite structure with sharp, articulated legs and multiple, slender wire-like tails that were still partially connected to his heart, though fewer than before, drawing the necessary sustenance.
What made this Tier 3 parasite particularly noteworthy were the two powerful, A-rank skills it now possessed.
Not long ago, after a painstaking process of evolving a specific Swarm Spittle Fly to Tier 2, Ram had managed to save its rare skill, 'Consume & Evolve'.
This A-Grade skill, which had cost him a hefty ten thousand spiritual power points to retain, was a game-changer.
It allowed the parasite to absorb the genetic memory, physical traits, and even abilities of other creatures it consumed, especially those of its own kind or hosts it controlled, enabling it to grow and adapt at an accelerated rate.
More recently, Ram had successfully grafted another crucial Rank A skill onto it: 'Reconstruct'.
This ability, sourced from a Bone Scarab Queen, 'Reconstruct' not only granted the Mind Shadow Parasite the ability to develop a strong, protective exoskeleton.
While he was still exploring the full extent of 'Reconstruct,' its name suggested incredible versatility.
Now, as long as Ram supplied it with sufficient spiritual power and his own potent Life Energy, the Mind Shadow Parasite could completely reconfigure its physical structure.
It could reshape itself into any biological form it had previously "saved" in its genetic memory through the 'Consume and Evolve' process.
The power to repair, to reshape, perhaps even to rebuild matter or energy on a fundamental level
Ram smiled at just thinking about how powerful the parasite can become in the future.
He 'observed' the parasite using his spiritual consciousness. One more step, one more successful evolution to Tier 4, and it would likely unlock even more terrifying inherent abilities, like controlling its hosts, replacing their consciousness.
Although it won't happen to him, skills like this can be very useful when it comes to controlling others.
Ram realized with a jolt of understanding, this meant the parasite could now construct a complete, independent human body.
Imagine the possibilities: a perfect doppelgänger, an infiltrator indistinguishable from the real thing, or even a disposable body that could be sent into dangerous situations.
The parasite could become the ultimate spy or assassin, capable of shedding one identity and adopting another as needed.
Of course, such complex transformations would require a huge amount of both spiritual power and Life Energy, likely draining Ram's reserves significantly depending on the complexity and mass of the desired form.
But the fact that it could be done opened up a whole new level of strategic options.
This tiny parasite was rapidly evolving into one of his most powerful and adaptable assets.
A thrill of anticipation, mixed with a healthy dose of caution, coursed through Ram, as he communicated with the parasite, checking on the currently available transformations.
Soon he found that there was only one transformation available, that the parasite can perform with its current genetic data, Kain, that was devoured.
He soon thought of Kain, the hulking Tier 4 Totem Warrior he had recently fought.
Although he was not the strongest in Tier 4 professionals, Kain's physique was distinctive, and the memory of their battle was still fresh in his mind.
With a slight shift in his concentration, Ram focused his will on the bio-mechanical nanite nestled near his heart.
He pictured Kain's imposing stature, his rugged facial features, and the specific build of his muscles.
He then issued a mental command to the parasite, "Use your 'Reconstruct' skill. Alter my face and body, into that of Kain."
Unlike his Wood Spirits, which often required direct and simple instructions, the Mind Shadow Parasite was exceptionally intelligent, perhaps even more so than an average human in its own way.
It processed his intent with astonishing speed.
Even before Ram could fully articulate the second part of the command, he felt a distinct stirring within him.
The parasite, almost eager, began its work.
A sudden, sharp drain on his reserves made him catch his breath.
However, the amount of life energy and spiritual power in his body was ten times more concentrated and higher than that of others, fueling the task of reshaping his physical form.
The transformation was incredibly rapid, and with it came an escalating wave of sensations.
First, a deep, unsettling ache settled into his bones, as if they were being subtly softened and stretched.
Then, the pain truly began.
Ram gritted his teeth as he felt his skeletal structure start to shift.
A dull, grinding feeling accompanied the sensation of his bones lengthening, thickening, and subtly readjusting their angles to match Kain's larger frame.
His shoulders broadened, his limbs extended, and he could feel his very height increasing.
Simultaneously, his muscles began to swell and contort.
It wasn't the satisfying burn of a workout; this was a forceful, almost violent expansion.
Strands of muscle fiber felt like they were being torn apart and rewoven, bulking up at an unnatural pace to mimic Kain's powerful build.
A tremor ran through him as the internal architecture of his body was forcibly rearranged.
The parasite worked with brutal efficiency, the changes rippling across his body, a wave of painful reconstruction.
His facial bones shifted, his jawline hardened, and even the cartilage in his nose and ears seemed to be reshaping under the parasite's invisible, energy-fueled manipulations.
The wave of agonizing reconstruction continued.
Ram clenched his jaw, a low groan escaping his lips as he clearly felt the bones in his face shift and settle into new positions.
His cheekbones became more prominent, his brow heavier, his nose and jawline subtly but distinctly altering.
It felt as though a sculptor was aggressively reshaping clay, but the clay was his own living flesh and bone.
His skin stretched taut over newly formed muscle and bone, a burning, pulling sensation that made him gasp.
He could feel the individual muscles in his arms, legs, and torso knotting and expanding, hardening into the dense, powerful musculature he remembered from Kain.
The sheer speed of it was what made it so brutal; there was no gradual adjustment, just a forceful, relentless remaking.
He felt a strange disconnect, as if his consciousness was a passenger in a body that was rapidly becoming unfamiliar.
The weight of his limbs changed, his center of gravity shifted, he could almost feel the increased height, the broader shoulders..
Then, as suddenly as it began, the intense activity within his body started to subside.
The grinding in his bones eased, the violent tearing sensation in his muscles faded to a deep, throbbing ache.
The sharpest peaks of pain began to dull, leaving behind a profound soreness, like he'd been through the most grueling battle of his life.
Gasping for breath, Ram stayed still for a moment, letting the last waves of discomfort wash over him.
The heavy drain on his Life Energy and Spiritual Power left him feeling slightly hollowed, but it wasn't much for his current self.
Slowly, hesitantly, he lifted a hand. It was larger, thicker, the knuckles more pronounced – Kain's hand.
He touched his face, feeling the unfamiliar contours of Kain's rugged features under his fingertips.
The nose was broader, the jaw stronger. He ran his tongue over his teeth; they felt subtly different in his mouth.
The transformation was complete. He was now, for all intents and purposes, a physical replica of Kain.
