Chapter 1772: Chapter 1772: Their Happy Times 4

Ding Jinshi was so exhausted from vomiting that she could barely speak. Leaning against Ding Long, she shook her head repeatedly and said, "After having this baby, I’m never doing this again. It’s just too painful!"

Ding Jinshi didn’t know how many times she had cried in Ding Long’s arms. The morning sickness was tormenting her terribly. Raised properly since childhood, she didn’t suffer during her first pregnancy. In the past few years, Ding Long had spoiled her so much, when had she ever endured such hardship?

"No more, no more," Ding Long comforted repeatedly, "I swear, I’ll never let you go through this again."

Ding Long wasn’t just saying that; he was genuinely afraid of Ding Jinshi being pregnant. He hadn’t expected this pregnancy to be so tormenting.

If it weren’t for the fact that there were two babies inside her, he would have considered taking Ding Jinshi to the hospital to terminate it. He felt so heartbroken seeing his dear wife suffer.

Ding Long stayed at home for a month and a half, almost never leaving Ding Jinshi’s side. Only after that did her morning sickness gradually subside. Her face had slimmed down, but her belly grew like a balloon, protruding sharply, which made Ding Long anxious; it was much larger than during her previous pregnancy with their daughter.

When Ding Jinshi finally had an appetite, Ding Long took his wife and daughter to her father’s house in the compound. During this time, Ding Jinshi’s father was too busy to stay home, but her stepmother visited with their little handsome boy several times. Today, the family planned to have a proper gathering as her father finally finished his business trip and returned home.

Seeing how much weight his daughter had lost, Ding’s father was startled and immediately scolded Ding Long, blaming him for not taking good care of Ding Jinshi.

"Dad, it’s not Ding Long’s fault. I just had severe morning sickness. He was with me all the time, not even going to work," Ding Jinshi explained, defending her husband despite how she took her frustrations out on him during difficult times. It was a matter between the couple, but she quickly explained to prevent her father from misunderstanding her husband.

Ding’s father criticized Ding Long only because he felt sorry for his daughter. Upon closer look, he noticed Ding Long had also lost weight, a clear sign that his daughter had indeed put him through a lot.

As the family sat down for a meal, the little handsome boy sat next to Ding Baobei. The two children were most intrigued by the babies in Ding Jinshi’s belly, frequently glancing at her stomach.

"The pregnant sister is getting fatter!" The little handsome boy remarked whenever he saw Ding Jinshi, though he meant that her belly was growing larger.

"The baby is growing inside your sister’s belly, so naturally her belly gets bigger each day!" Ding Jinshi’s stepmother gently explained, "This isn’t called getting fat. If you keep calling your sister fat, she might get upset with you."

The little handsome boy pursed his lips, not daring to speak again, worried that he might anger his sister, leading to her and her husband barring him from playing with his nephew.

"Oh, by the way, Ding Long, have you mentioned Jinshi’s pregnancy to your parents?" Ding Jinshi’s stepmother suddenly looked up and asked Ding Long, "Your mother subtly asked me a few days ago if Jinshi was pregnant."

"I haven’t told them," Ding Long replied honestly.

Ding Jinshi’s stepmother didn’t know what to say. On one hand, she thought it was quite excessive that Ding Baobei had never met her grandparents. However, Ding Long, after all, should inform his parents since his wife was expecting again, given so much time had passed.
