Chapter 1693: Chapter 1693: His Whole World Is Only You 26

"Ding Long, I don’t have to pay for the wedding banquet, right?" Ding Jinshi asked out of the blue.

Seeing Ding Long glance at her, disdain written all over his face, Ding Jinshi felt utterly wronged.

Ding Jinshi propped her chin on her hand and earnestly said, "Look, my salary isn’t high. After the engagement banquet, I owe you a large debt, and every month I have to scrimp and save to pay it off. If I have to buy something, I have to boldly come to you. If I have to pay for the wedding, I probably won’t clear the debt for the rest of my life." 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"Have you really been scrimping and saving?" Ding Long chuckled lightly, knowing that holding onto her money was the only way to suppress her nasty habit of eating randomly. When Ding Jinshi gets a craving, she can eat her way down an entire street, not caring about what’s healthy or not. Afterward, she’d be stuck at home all day, showing no remorse, only to return to the streets at the first tempting sight.

Ding Jinshi has that insatiable appetite but lacks the constitution for it. Her body is quite delicate.

"Of course!" Ding Jinshi rolled her eyes. "Even Chenyue and Chen Shan say I’ve gotten stingier lately!"

Ding Long shook his head and moved her delicate hands off the notebook, saying, "You don’t need to pay for it. You don’t have to worry about anything. Just be a beautiful bride-to-be."

"Alright!" Ding Jinshi’s eyes smiled as she opened her mouth, initially planning to ask how the wedding-day gift money would be handled. But seeing Ding Long seriously working on plans, she sheepishly held back her question.

Don’t call her vulgar! It’s because of this huge debt pressing down on her!

If she could receive the gift money, she could pay off what she owes Ding Long, and life would be invigorating and joyful once more.

Just like the engagement banquet, nearly all the big and small details were covered by Ding Long. As Ding Long said, Ding Jinshi didn’t need to worry about anything, just focus on being a peaceful and beautiful bride-to-be.

Time flew by, and in a blink of an eye, there was less than a month before the wedding.

Before the joyous event of the Ding Family’s daughter’s marriage, there was another happy event—Ding Jinshi’s stepmother was pregnant.

Upon hearing the news, Ding Jinshi promptly spat her tea onto Ding Long’s face.

The two were at a restaurant, planning to handle other matters afterward, so after work, Ding Long didn’t take Ding Jinshi home but rather found a restaurant for dinner. Ding Long casually mentioned the news to Ding Jinshi after ordering.

"Didn’t you say before that you hoped your dad and your aunt would have a child too? What is it? Were you just talking? But it seems like your dad and aunt took it seriously," Ding Long probed. "Actually, it’s not easy for your aunt. Because of you, she’s reached this age without having a child. Since you weren’t home today, you didn’t see your aunt’s expression—a mix of joy and worry—when she found out she was pregnant."

"I’m not upset, just surprised," Ding Jinshi pouted. "You’ve been preaching to me for years about how tough my aunt has it. I get your point. From another perspective, I know my aunt has it tough. Since she’s pregnant, let her have the baby. Whether it’s a little brother or sister, it won’t affect me much since I’m already grown."

"That’s right." By the time Ding Jinshi’s new sibling is born, Ding Long and Ding Jinshi will be married. As a married daughter, having a younger sibling at home wouldn’t affect her much.
