"Come here! I’m too lazy to move!" Ding Jinshi said, "I bought two books at the bookstore in the ancient town this afternoon, just perfect to pass the time!"

Ding Long nodded, then went out the door, carrying his work files directly to Ding Jinshi’s room. While Ding Jinshi went to take a shower, he sat on the sofa in the room and started looking at the files.

First, she leaned back against the sofa, but after sitting like that for two minutes and finding it uncomfortable, she got up to get a blanket and then crawled onto the sofa, propping her feet on the end and resting her upper body directly on Ding Long’s back. Comfortably, she continued reading her book.

This put Ding Long in a bit of a bind. If he moved too much, Ding Jinshi would tumble onto the floor, so even when he flipped through his files, he did it very cautiously.

Ding Long glanced back at Ding Jinshi, not sure what book she was reading because she was so engrossed in it and occasionally chuckling to herself.

Such interactions between the two had never happened before. At home, even if he brought work back, he would complete it in his own room. Ding Jinshi never had the chance to laze around like this. But Ding Long thought having a small room was nice too; he could consider moving his work spot from his room to the living room in the future.

Ding Long liked how Ding Jinshi leaned on him without any reservations. They both did their own thing without disturbing each other but still relied on one another. Even though they were silent without a word exchanged, it softened his heart bit by bit.

He loved Ding Jinshi. This girl was his whole world.

Ding Long was always very serious when working. To avoid disturbing Ding Jinshi’s reading, he maintained the same posture, which wasn’t difficult for him, given his military background.

When he closed his work files and raised his wrist to check the time, the clock’s hand already pointed to twelve, which startled him. Time had flown by, and he hadn’t even noticed a bit.

It was then he realized that the woman who had been leaning on his back reading had fallen quiet at some point, her face resting against his back.

"Jinshi?" Ding Long turned to look at Ding Jinshi, only to discover that she had been sleeping on his back for who knows how long. Because of her awkward sleeping posture, there was even a suspicious trickle at the corner of her mouth.

Her book rested on her knee, with one hand still holding it down and the other loosely encircling his waist from behind.

As Ding Long carefully shifted, she quickly tumbled onto his lap, remaining peacefully asleep.

"So sound asleep." Love flickered in Ding Long’s eyes, daring to let all his emotions surface on his face and reside in his gaze, only in moments like this.

He gently carried the sweet slumbering beauty and laid her on the bed, then took off her shoes and coat, and tucked her in.

After finishing these tasks, Ding Long didn’t leave immediately. He stood by the bed, quietly watching Ding Jinshi’s sleeping face.
