Stars In His Eyes-Chapter 1671: His Whole World Is Only You 4
So because she knows he’s not here, she won’t drink milk or honey water?
Alright, she really didn’t drink it.
The milk was because she doesn’t like it, and the honey water was because she woke up late and was too lazy to make it.
When Ding Long was at home, he would always get up earlier than her. Usually, by the time she woke up, Ding Long had already made the honey water and placed it on the dining table, while he was in the kitchen making breakfast for the two of them.
Making honey water was probably the first thing Ding Long did after getting up. He’d boil water, let it cool to the right temperature, then add the honey. He’d place this cup of honey water on the dining table, perfectly timing it so that when Ding Jinshi woke up, the honey water would still be at just the right temperature.
"Mr. Ding said, if he comes back and finds Miss Ding has lost weight, he’ll charge interest on the bill Miss Ding owes." After a pause, "Miss Ding loses half a kilogram, and an extra ten percent interest, per month."
"Damn!" Even as rational as she was, Ding Jinshi couldn’t help but curse under her breath. She took the breakfast, waved the delivery guy off, and then proceeded to curse Ding Long to her heart’s content. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
She thought that with the "emperor far away," Ding Long couldn’t control her, but who knew this guy had tricks up his sleeve one after another.
Thinking about the bill made Ding Jinshi grit her teeth in anger. Was this deliberately trying to mess with her?
After eating breakfast, Ding Jinshi still wasn’t ready to head to the kitchen. She returned to her room, planning to apply some skincare products. However, when she opened the drawer, she was stunned. Inside was a note with Ding Long’s words: Be good, listen well, honey and milk are good for your health.
Ding Jinshi crumpled the paper into a ball, rubbed her temples in exasperation, applied her skincare, and then left the house with her bag.
Ding Jinshi didn’t know if Ding Long was really busy after leaving on his business trip because he hadn’t called her even once in those five days. To be honest, Ding Jinshi wasn’t used to it.
After she returned to China, Ding Long had gone on business trips before. Sometimes he just went to neighboring provinces for two days, and even then he’d make several calls. But this time, Ding Long went farther and was away longer, yet he hadn’t called her once.
The milk abandoned in the fridge by Ding Jinshi has grown to five boxes, and the honey remains untouched. Living alone in a not-so-big house, Ding Jinshi was increasingly unaccustomed.
Waking up in the morning without anyone placing the honey water near her hand, having no midday calls during lunch breaks, and coming home at night to no one to talk or banter with. There wasn’t anyone to sit on the couch with, one reading a book, the other reading the newspaper or company files. And before bed, there wasn’t a heated cup of the milk she loathed, followed by exchanging a goodnight.
On the weekend, Ding Jinshi drove to Chen Shan’s house. Usually, Ding Long would plan how the two would spend the weekend, but with Ding Long absent, being alone truly made Ding Jinshi bored out of her mind.
"Ding Long’s been on a business trip for several days now, right?" Chen Shan, seeing Ding Jinshi sitting on the couch munching on her snacks, walked over with her tantalizing long legs and sat down next to her. As usual, Chen Shan didn’t leave the house and would sleep in till she naturally woke up on weekends. Being woken up early, if it wasn’t Ding Jinshi visiting, Chen Shan might have kicked the person out.
"Five days." Ding Jinshi casually replied, then put down her snack and sat up, "You don’t know how weird he is! He’s on a business trip, yet he still controls so many of my things." Then, Ding Jinshi told Chen Shan about the various little notes she’d gradually found at home and the increasing messages Ding Long had the delivery guy bring every day. After finishing her story, Ding Jinshi looked at Chen Shan angrily and said, "Chen Shan, tell me, isn’t he weird? Going away without a single call, yet adding to my annoyance in this way."
