Chapter 917: Divine Sense Six Transformations (2)

The Death God's Eye Clan, Third Main Camp.

This place served as the largest base camp established by the Death God's Eye clan. It was one of the thirty-six Wisdom Faction tribes of the Reapers, established during the long era of conquering spatial anchor points.

In fact, most of the Reaper tribes were wanderers. They cared little for their ancestral lands, often using the planets they invaded and occupied as their camps. This third main camp was built upon a fully transformed giant planet that had been merged with six other small planets, creating a mobile planetary fortress.

There were fleets stationed outside. Inside, countless armies from the Primal Faction and the Wisdom Faction patrolled. It was a purely militarized fortress. Any intruder would be discovered immediately.

For humans, this planetary fortress was even more terrifying than the Death God Eye's Forbidden Ground. However—

"Did we really just sneak in like this?" Li Yiyun found it hard to believe his eyes.

At first, he felt extremely uneasy. Any patrolling Reaper released an aura dozens of times stronger than his own. Li Yiyun was convinced that a single glance from them could kill him. But unexpectedly, they had simply hitched a ride on a passing ship and slipped in with ease.

Even more incredibly, the four of them had not even bothered with any disguises. They simply put on the uniforms of the enemy and now openly roamed around the fortress.

Gou Dongxi curiously observed everything around him. He had already learned as much as he could about this human enemy tribe called the Reapers through some documents granted by Li Xiaofei.

But what one learned from paper always felt superficial. It was only when he saw this tribe’s terrifying nature with his own eyes that he finally felt a trace of worry about humanity’s current situation and its future.

He had never seen such a frightening race. Their bizarre shapes. The combination of savagery and intelligence. He saw many humanoid creatures on every street inside the fortress. Many of them, by appearance alone, looked just like humans. But it was very clear they were not.

A serious expression appeared on Li Xiaofei’s face as well. The number of Death God's Eye clan members was far greater than he had previously imagined. Every time they invaded the Xiao Kuang Star Region, it had only been a miniscule fraction of their forces.

This military fortress, known as the Third Main Camp, was a thousand times larger than Chongque City, with the outer garrisons mostly composed of Primal Faction Reapers, while the inner defenses were made up of the Wisdom Faction.

The Death God's Eye was one of the thirty-six major Wisdom Faction tribes of the Reapers, but that did not mean every member of the tribe belonged to the Wisdom Faction. Countless Primal Factions also existed under their banner, possessing an unparalleled reproductive ability and constantly producing new offspring.

"Their architecture is similar to that of humans," Gou Dongxi remarked.

There were also hundreds of cities of various sizes in the core planetary region. The architectural style of these cities was clearly modeled after human structures, ranging from modern cities to ancient fortresses, with all kinds represented.

The high-ranking members of the Death God's Eye clan lived there. As the administrators of the cities, their numbers were not large. Even in some ancient-style cities, the level of mechanization and automation was high, with numerous cyborgs or semi-mechanical beasts serving the few Death God's Eye members.

In the wilderness, tens of thousands of Primal Faction members lived scattered across mountains, rivers, and other natural areas, each claiming their own territory and surviving there.

Only the powerful Primal Faction members were able to secure a place on the core planet. According to Li Xiaofei’s careful observation, he discovered that there was at least one Six Gods Realm Beast King overseeing each Primal Faction. This force alone made Li Xiaofei’s heart tremble.

If not for the insufficient level of nearby spatial anchor points and teleportation pathways preventing these Beast Kings from traveling through, the Xiao Kuang Star Region would have already fallen.

And this was just the surface world. The real heart of the Death God's Eye tribe lay in the underground world. This enormous planet had already been completely drained of its life force. Its core had been hollowed out and reconstructed using technology and formations.

The royal palace of the clan’s king, the current Death God's Eye Delta, was in the deepest part of the planet’s core. That was the sacred ground of the entire Death God's Eye clan.

Li Xiaofei and the other three, thanks to the protection of the Mother of All Beasts skin garments, were able to move unimpeded. Even many Six Gods Realm experts could not see through their disguises, allowing them to reach the area outside the royal palace without any trouble.

We need to find a way to sneak in, Li Xiaofei looked at the towering, majestic palace and thought to himself. A direct assault would not be a good idea; it would easily alert Wei Xiaotian and give him a chance to escape.

Although he had the Blood-Drinking Sword in hand and felt confident that he had the strength for a frontal attack, it was best to approach Wei Xiaotian without alarming him and then suddenly strike to capture him.

At this moment, even Li Yiyun and Gou Dongxi had to admit that the two of them seemed to be dead weight. They were completely unable to help in such a situation.

Liu Shaji chuckled and said, "No need. Follow me."

He headed directly toward the King’s Palace. Li Xiaofei’s eyelid twitched as he reached out to stop him. But then he saw Old Liu walk right up to the guards at the gate of the King’s Palace and speak in fluent Reaper language. He then took out a shiny object resembling currency and handed it over.

Immediately, Li Xiaofei and the others were allowed to enter the King’s Palace. Not just Gou Dongxi and Li Yiyun, even Li Xiaofei himself was stunned.

Just like that?

This trick actually worked here too?

It was true that money could make the devil turn the mill. The Death God's Eye clan’s King’s Palace was incredibly large, with spacious, grand interiors, yet its decoration was simple. It had a Nordic minimalist style, giving the impression that Delta was a demon king who valued simplicity and detachment.

There were not many patrolling guards inside the King’s Palace. After all, within the Reaper clans, the King was the strongest individual and did not need protection.

Every day, some envoys, merchants, inventors, or challengers came to the King’s Palace to deliver messages, offer gifts, present inventions, or challenge the King. If a merchant’s offering was accepted by the King, their status would rise, and their business in the region would be guaranteed.

Inventors also held high status among the Reapers. Any new discovery or invention that could be proven to enhance the tribe’s strength or benefit their evolution would be rewarded.

There was a detailed hierarchy of nobility within the Reaper system. An inventor could often rise quickly through the ranks and become a noble of the clan because of a single discovery or invention.

According to ancient rules, the King had to be the strongest individual in the entire clan. Therefore, anyone who accepted a noble title could challenge the King, but only an eternally victorious individual could remain seated on the King’s throne.

Liu Shaji had, of course, come in under the guise of a merchant. During his previous travels and investigations, he had already thoroughly understood how the Death God's Eye clan operated, so he was able to slip in so easily. Although he often acted recklessly, he was indeed reliable in serious matters.

They quickly reached the inner palace. Before long, they were invited into Delta’s divine throne hall.

It was a magnificent building. The hundred-meter-high main hall felt incredibly vast. Black columns supported a fully enclosed dome, making the hall’s interior somewhat dim. Light streamed in through the enormous entrance that was twenty meters high, casting elongated shadows of the columns that formed harp-like patterns on the floor.

The air inside the hall was somewhat cold. At the end of the hall was a dark throne floating in midair. A blurry figure sat upon it. He rested one arm on his chin, tilting his head, as one foot was placed over the throne’s armrest, giving off an arrogant and domineering impression.

Li Xiaofei and the others entered and approached. He first looked around.

“No need to look. There’s no one else here.” The figure seated on the throne spoke. “It’s just the five of us now inside the entire King’s Palace.”

He spoke in standard Great Xia dialect. Li Xiaofei felt a sudden shock in his heart.

“Surprised?” The figure on the throne chuckled and continued, “I’ve been waiting for you all along, Li Xiaofei. You’re a bit later than I expected.”

Li Xiaofei recognized the man’s identity. He gestured for his two disciples to stand behind him. Then he stepped forward slowly.

Li Xiaofei asked, “Wei Xiaotian?”

“That’s right. Long time no see.” The figure on the throne said lightly, “I let you in without resistance, and you can’t even bring yourself to call me ‘boss’?”

“That’s all in the past now.” Li Xiaofei spoke flatly, “You know why I’m here. Where are they? Hand them over.”

“Heh heh.” Wei Xiaotian let out a dry laugh and said, “Hall Master Li, do you really think they’re still with me after all this time?”

Buzz.

The Blood-Drinking Sword appeared. A faint light flowed along the blade, illuminating the dark hall. The face of the figure on the throne instantly became clear. It was none other than the former Exploding Star Gang boss, Wei Xiaotian.
