Starforce Warriors-Chapter 910: I Am Completely Invincible in the Mortal World (3)
The remaining two sect masters landed unsteadily. They felt their Immortal Force surge uncontrollably within them and found themselves unable to move. Though not in mortal danger, they had lost the ability to fight for the time being.
The two glanced at each other, eyes filled with shock. Chi Wuji, on the other hand, had not suffered serious injuries. The three of them found it strange. The one who had been killed was the sect master of the Blood Gu Sect, someone whose strength was second only to Chi Wuji himself. And yet he had died.
But it was only when they thought of the Blood Gu Sect's notorious reputation, and the sect master’s long history of brutal massacres against mortals that they began to understand. Perhaps Li Xiaofei killing this man was not entirely unexpected.
After all, many of the so-called experts from the immortal Dao he had killed before had histories of cruel violence against common people. There was Blood Demon from the Blood Mist Sect and the blind old man known for the Burial-Immortal Hex Divination from the Douling Sect.
At the same time, the sect masters of the Tidecalling Sect, Earth Spirit Sect, and the old woman from Lone Boat Water Fortress had finished preparing their ultimate techniques. They launched their attacks together with fierce shouts.
Massive waves surged through the air, and the ground split open. A terrifying water beast, resembling a flood dragon, emerged from the crashing waves and lunged toward Li Xiaofei, attempting to devour him.
These ones are spellcasters, Li Xiaofei noted silently.
Their chanting had taken more than ten seconds, but once their preparations were complete, they unleashed immense attacks. The threat they posed was at least several notches above the earlier assault by Chi Wuji and the others.
Li Xiaofei waved his long sleeve and the giant wave vanished. He stomped down and the cracked earth sealed itself instantly. Then, as the flood dragon came plunging down, Li Xiaofei narrowed his eyes at it.
The creature immediately froze like a frightened rabbit. With a sharp whoosh, it retreated in panic, hiding behind the old woman in the bamboo raincoat and straw hat. It trembled violently and raised a paw to point at Li Xiaofei while whimpering, as if trying to explain itself.
In the blink of an eye, Li Xiaofei effortlessly repelled seven sect masters of the immortal Dao. Everyone watching was left stunned and speechless. These sect masters were widely considered nearly invincible across the land.
Yet despite their close coordination and combined assault, they had failed to defeat—no, more precisely, they had failed to even shake Li Xiaofei in the slightest. This time, the joint attack of the three sect masters had also failed, though they had emerged unscathed.
The first round of combat had not even ended, and already the most unfortunate had appeared. The sect master of the Blood Gu Sect became the second to fall.
"I already told you to use your strongest techniques," Li Xiaofei said calmly. "You will not be given a second chance to strike."
The remaining sect masters now wore extremely grave expressions. It was only when facing Li Xiaofei in person could one truly feel the suffocating pressure of his power. They had stood at the peak of the immortal Dao in this world for a long time. That status had left them with the illusion that there was no one under heaven they could not face and no enemy they could not eventually defeat.
But now, this terrifying enemy appeared. Blood Shadow let out a chilling, ghostly laugh. An endless mist of blood began to pour out from his body, erupting with madness and instantly engulfing the entire arena. No one could see what was happening within the battleground anymore. Even sound had been completely sealed off.
At the same time, a shrill and mournful wail burst forth from Blood Shadow's body. No one knew when it had appeared, but he now held a long, blood-red banner. As he formed hand seals and chanted incantations, agonized and distorted faces emerged on the surface of the banner. They struggled in torment, each one twisted with terror and pain. They looked like malevolent spirits desperately trying to claw their way out from the depths of Yama’s underworld.
“Ten thousand ghosts gnaw at the heart... kill.” Blood Shadow spat a mouthful of blood essence onto the banner.
It was as though the gates of hell had been flung wide open. Countless vengeful spirits and fierce ghosts broke free from the banner, screaming and howling as they transformed into streaks of blood-red light. They surged forward in a dense, unending swarm, all rushing to devour Li Xiaofei.
At the same time, the other sect leaders and grandmasters no longer held anything back. Each unleashed their most treasured ultimate techniques. One roared deeply and transformed into a strange beast, his body erupting with a wild and savage aura of slaughter.
Another summoned a mysterious artifact fragment that he had kept hidden for years, burning his own life force to power it as he launched an attack at Li Xiaofei.
Someone suddenly split off an incarnation of himself. Another hurled a magical treasure into the sky, where it transformed into a blinding pearl that emitted eerie beams of light, trapping Li Xiaofei in their glow and freezing him in place.
A faint smile appeared on Li Xiaofei’s face. Now this was more like it. At last, the cultivators of this continent had shown something of value. Otherwise, those pitifully weak attacks from before had been nothing more than a tickle. They had never stirred even a hint of interest in him.
“Watch closely,” Li Xiaofei shouted with a thunderous voice.
The sound waves of his bellow instantly dispersed the dense blood-red mist that had blanketed the entire arena. Those on both sides of Heaven Drum Mountain could see the battle unfolding once again.
Li Xiaofei opened his mouth and took a deep breath. Immediately, the power of laws surged into motion. All the magical treasures, including the immobilizing pearl, the mysterious artifact fragments, and numerous other powerful treasures and weapons, were pulled in by this force of laws.
“Return.”
“No, stop!”
“Aaah—”
Cries of alarm rang out in every direction as all the treasures were drawn straight into Li Xiaofei’s mouth and swallowed whole one after another. The cultivators watching from the sidelines stared in disbelief, their eyes nearly popping from their sockets.
What in the world had just happened?
The disciples of the various sects were the most shaken. They knew the power of those artifacts better than anyone. Nearly all of them were legendary treasures of the immortal world, powerful enough to decide the outcome of any battle the moment they appeared.
These were the sacred artifacts of their top sects. And yet someone had swallowed them in a single gulp? The various sect leaders were still frantically channeling their techniques, desperately trying to re-establish their connection with the treasures. But they received no response.
“You deserve to die.” Li Xiaofei turned his gaze toward Blood Shadow, the sect master of the Blood Mist Sect. With just that single sentence, a wave of sword intent burst forth.
Pfft.
A burst of blood erupted from the center of Blood Shadow’s forehead. His entire body fell backward to the ground. He was dead. His life force vanished in an instant, leaving not a trace behind. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Off to the side, Lin Donglai witnessed the scene and could hardly believe his eyes. If there was anyone in the world who was considered the hardest to kill, it would undoubtedly have been Blood Shadow.
This man had cultivated the Blood Demon Formless Technique, the highest and most revered art of the Blood Mist Sect. He had reached the tenth level, and it was said that he could create incarnations outside his body. Even if his body was completely obliterated, as long as a single drop of his blood remained, he could regenerate and come back to life.
But in that moment, Lin Donglai was one hundred percent certain that the Blood Shadow was truly dead. The fluctuation of heavenly and earthly energy at the moment a cultivator died could not be faked.
The most unkillable man had been completely annihilated by nothing more than a glance from Li Xiaofei. How could anyone fight after that?
Then Li Xiaofei flicked his fingers.
Swish. Swish. Swish.
Blades of sword light sliced through the air. Among the fifteen sect masters present, six of them, the ones from True Gu, Douling, Ten Thousand Dragon Valley, Ke Jin, Azure Dragon Mountain, and the Six Harmony Sect, were struck in the head by flying swords and killed on the spot.
The remaining masters were so stunned by the sword aura that they stood frozen in place, unable to move at all. Just like that, the battle ended amidst a field of scattered eyeballs.
It had ended so quickly. Not a single onlooker had time to react. The battleground was overtaken by sudden silence. The temperature atop Heaven Drum Mountain began to rise rapidly. Countless people were drawing sharp breaths in utter shock.
No one had imagined it would unfold or end this way. And after the battle ended, no one could believe what had just happened. These were the sect masters of the sixteen great immortal sects.
Sect masters.
They had brought with them the most powerful treasures of their sects. They had cultivated and mastered their sects’ strongest secret arts. They had carefully chosen the battlefield, laid down countless formations and contingencies, and united together to besiege a single man.
And yet, in less than three minutes, they had been completely defeated. Seven out of sixteen immortal cultivators survived. The reason those seven were still alive was not because they had superior strength, nor because they were lucky enough to escape.
It was simply because Li Xiaofei had not intended to kill them. If he had wanted to, then the number of corpses lying in the arena would not have been nine. It would have been sixteen.
“This so-called immortal Dao is nothing but a farce.” A solemn and commanding aura radiated from Li Xiaofei as he said, “Mortals are the foundation of immortals. Immortals come from mortals. None of you were born immortal. You reached your current state through cultivation with mortal bodies. Yet after gaining power, you think yourselves superior and transcendent. You no longer see mortals as your kin. That is disgraceful.”
His voice echoed across Heaven Drum Mountain. Some of the sect disciples who heard him lowered their heads in silence and shame. When they thought carefully about it, his words were not without reason.
