Star Odyssey-Chapter 3576: Splitting Apart The Nine Heavens
Chapter 3576: Splitting Apart The Nine Heavens freeweɓnøvel.com
Lu Yin stared at Mu Zhu’s back while picturing Mister Mu in his mind.
How vicious!
He had always known that Mister Mu was strong. Without strength, the man could have never escaped from his own megaverse. Even so, Lu Yin had never imagined that Mister Mu would have escaped in such a manner.
Lu Yin was well aware of how strong Master Qing Cao was. Lu Yin had been utterly helpless before the man. It should have been impossible for any non-Immortal to even fight back against an Immortal. Even without moving, Master Qing Cao was still invincible. That was the combat strength of an Immortal.
Despite that, Mister Mu had managed to injure the Immortal from his megaverse, and he also had not escaped alone—he had taken Mu Zhu with him. Lu Yin could not fathom just what kind of power that required.
As he stood at the bow of Boundless and stared out at the stars, Lu Yin felt as if, at any moment, he could either have a fight to the death or return home.
He felt the closest to home at such times.
While he felt homesick, it was only temporary. After all, he had left believing he would never be able to return home. All aboard Boundless had believed the same thing.
Boundless had been built to carry humanity’s legacy in the Origin Universe. He wanted the battleship to bring about a future for the Tianyuan Megaverse.
At the moment, what troubled Lu Yin the most was the Nine Heavens Transformation.
He and the Origin Progenitor had both studied the Nine Heavens Transformation and now understood the technique thoroughly. They also knew how to split apart the Nine Heavens, but Lu Yin did not want to do so.
As he had told Yu Shan, to split the Nine Heavens, a person needed to fulfill one of two criteria. They could either be weak and have just started cultivating so that someone else could split the Nine Heavens for them. Or, they had to figure out how to split the Nine Heavens on their own. Releasing the Nine Heavens was actually splitting one’s inner world into nine sections, each with a different type of power that could combine back together in a unique manner that was the technique’s hallmark. The Nine Heavens actually meant continuously cultivating nine different powers.
This was different from how the Nine Clones Secret Technique functioned, though there were certain similarities.
Unlike the Nine Clones, there was no risk of independent personalities appearing, or for the clones to search for their own techniques and methods. All that was needed was for a person to master enough powers that met the requirements, divide them into the Nine Heavens, and then continuously cultivate all of them.
The Nine Heavens Transformation was a method of fusing those nine powers, which could allow a person to instantly explode with terrifying strength.
Yu Shan was one demonstration, but the High Seraph’s increased power was even more exaggerated.
Rather than calling the Nine Heavens Transformation a battle technique, it was more of a cultivation method that needed to be constantly refined and perfected. It was like giving the power of a soul to nine different powers. This did not interfere with the person’s own cultivation and did not waste a single moment. When abruptly used in battle, the resulting transformation had no equal.
One could not deny that the battle technique was incredibly tempting to everyone. If Lu Yin had just been starting out as a cultivator, he would not have been able to refuse such a magical technique. However, at the moment, his inner universe had already taken shape. If he were to split apart the Nine Heavens, he would have to alter and reshape his inner universe. Would it be worthwhile?
He did not have any answer.
His inner universe was a true universe. If he split it into nine pieces to create the Nine Heavens and then continually cultivated and developed the associated powers, then logically, he would gain a great boost in strength. Unfortunately, he felt that doing this might not be worth the effort. When he considered doing this, he felt an ominous premonition, which prevented him from proceeding.
The decision of whether he should alter his already formed inner universe was his greatest dilemma at the moment.
There was no question that, as soon as he split the Nine Heavens and practiced the Nine Heavens Transformation, given the various powers he already possessed, his combat strength would experience a quick and dramatic leap in power. When he used the Nine Heavens Transformation to the limit, he was confident that he could directly go against the High Seraph.
This was also the precise reason for the dilemma.
Compared to the ominous feeling that kept poking the back of his mind, the power that he would immediately gain was extremely enticing.
The Origin Progenitor did not hesitate at all. His cultivation was not nearly as diverse as Lu Yin’s, so even if he did alter his Progenitor’s world, he would not sense the same sort of premonition that assaulted Lu Yin.
In fact, most cultivators would not suffer any such dilemma. It was extremely difficult for anyone to develop something like Lu Yin's inner universe. Not even he fully understood just what it was that he possessed.
He stared out at the universe.
Above and all around him was the universe, yet there was also a universe within him.
Why were universes always so vast? Why were they practically infinite and endless, with countless stars always spinning about?
Lu Yin drifted upwards into outer space, immersing himself in the universe. He emptied his mind and spread out his arms.
Compared to a megaverse, humans were so tiny. Even if he possessed the power to destroy a portion of the megaverse, what about the entire megaverse?
The Spirit Nidus wanted to reset the Tianyuan Megaverse, but they had to wait until the megaverse had enough parallel universes.
To protect their megaverse, the Origin Progenitor had the choice to either destroy a great number of universes or suppress the sequence strings.
Ultimately, only a megaverse itself could create a megaverse, and only the megaverse itself could destroy itself.
Humans could never truly control the existence or destruction of a megaverse.
Humans were creatures that were embraced by the megaverse. But before humans appeared, how many other beings that had once ruled over the megaverse had been similarly embraced? Why had they disappeared? Despite all of that, the megaverse itself had never disappeared.
The megaverse was the origin of everything, and it was also the end of all life.
If humans could not surpass the megaverse, then they needed to learn from it. Since the megaverse was so vast and Lu Yin’s inner universe was the same as the real universes in the megaverse, then why change it?
Lu Yin let out a long breath. If he changed his inner universe, there would be no going back.
His inner universe and the real universes in the megaverse were the same. He had struggled to reach this point. The idea of suddenly changing it brought about an inexplicable feeling of resistance. Where did the resistance come from? Could it be?
Lu Yin looked down. Could the resistance be coming from his inner universe?
It was possible that the universe did not want to change.
The Origin Progenitor could sense Lu Yin’s hesitation, and he did not interfere. No one could help Lu Yin progress down his path. Not even Mister Mu could help him. Lu Yin was walking a path that had never existed before, especially when his Karmic Dao filled his inner universe. That was not at all an ordinary power.
One day, two days, three days... Ten days passed.
Lu Yin was surrounded by darkness, and various experts from Boundless surrounded him in order to prevent anyone from approaching.
Some cultivated in seclusion, while others sought enlightenment through worldly experiences. But for someone at Lu Yin’s level, the entire universe was his only training ground—there was nothing above him but the vast cosmos itself.
One day, Lu Yin opened his eyes. He pulled out a Root of Intelligence from his cosmic ring and prepared some tea that he slowly sipped.
While the tea was no longer able to grant him enlightenment, he enjoyed it simply for its calming effects.
He did not want to give up on learning the Nine Heavens Transformation, but he also did not want to alter his inner universe. At this moment, his thoughts, contemplations, and various understandings all converged.
Several more days passed, and Lu Yin took out another Root of Intelligence and prepared another cup of tea that he slowly drank.
The universe had fallen silent. He could hear the tea as it trickled down his throat. He could hear the beating of his own heart along with a variety of other sounds. The sounds jumped about, constantly fluctuating as if they had lives of their own. Lu Yin stared upwards, lost in his thoughts as he stared into the endless darkness of the universe and listened to the various nearby sounds.
Gradually, he started to hear the sounds of his own powers. He could hear his spiritual force, domain, battle techniques, and consciousness. The sounds grew louder and louder, and there were simply too many of them. He had pursued too many different powers. He could not make sense of what the sounds were doing. Are they fighting for something? What are they fighting for? Fighting for... the Nine Heavens Transformation?
His eyes snapped open. He had no idea when he had fallen asleep. Had those sounds just been an illusion? No, they were real. All of the powers that he had cultivated were fighting for the Nine Heavens Transformation.
His pupils fluctuated as waves of power surged through his mind. For just a moment, his powers had come to life.
He stood there, dazed, as he recalled the sounds that he had heard. He felt like a withered tree that had been growing in the darkness for countless years.
As he stood above Boundless, eyes focused on him, eagerness and other complex emotions in them.
The only person from Boundless who could truly defeat the High Seraph was not the Origin Progenitor, but rather Lu Yin.
He had created too many miracles. He had risen from the very bottom, climbing up one step at a time. He had experienced so much, and his entire life had become a legend. He had become known for bringing about impossible victories.
As people watched Lu Yin consider things, not a single person dared to even breathe loudly.
Even the Origin Progenitor was watching, satisfaction filling his eyes. That state you just entered is enlightenment. Were you able to feel something?
Lu Yin’s brow furrowed, and his expression gradually shifted from dazed to highly focused. He glanced around. The universe was still dark and endless. He gave a small smile and then slowly closed his eyes. Once again, the universe fell silent.
One month.
Two months.
Three months.
Half a year went by. The next time that Lu Yin opened his eyes, his gaze was completely different from before. Immense consciousness roared out behind him, shooting upwards before curling and spiraling about. It looked as though it was going to split the universe into nine sections.
Above Boundless, the Origin Progenitor rose to his feet with a laugh. "I see now! Very clever, Pillar."
Aside from the Origin Progenitor, no one else could understand what Lu Yin was doing.
Not only was he releasing the Nine Heavens, but he was also combining it with the Xia family’s Nine Clones Secret Technique. In doing so, he was allowing the Nine Heavens Transformation to be created within his consciousness.
Since he could not split apart the Nine Heavens with his inner universe, then he had decided to split elsewhere.
Learning the Nine Clones Secret Technique had taught Lu Yin how to create clones by splitting off his consciousness. There was no need for him to provide the separated consciousness with any sort of awareness or intelligence, but by using the Nine Clones as a foundation, it became possible to split the Nine Heavens within Lu Yin’s consciousness. He intended to cultivate the Nine Heavens Transformation within the power of his consciousness.
The consciousness separated into nine sections, forming the Nine Heavens.
From his inner universe, the landmass rose up into the sky, settling into the first layer of the Nine Heavens in Lu Yin’s consciousness. The first power would be his Dust World.
Next, blackness filled the second layer, which was his Wielder - Indestructible battle force.
Lightstream swirled about the third layer.
Infinity filled the fourth level.
A wave of his hand saw the Setting Sun appear in the fifth level.
His palm pressed down, and Flipping the Sky appeared in the sixth layer.
The Withered Bark appeared in the seventh layer.
He drew upon the divine energy within him and formed beams of light that shot through the eighth level.
Dust World, battle force, Lightstream, Infinity, the Setting Sun, Flipping the Sky, Extremes Must Be Reversed, and divine energy.
As for the highest, ninth level, Lu Yin intended to save it for the power that would be most suitable, but he had not yet acquired it.
With the Nine Heavens split apart within his consciousness and eight of the nine powers bestowed upon the Nine Heavens, his consciousness instantly returned to Lu Yin’s body.
Despite the huge commotion that he had just created, no one other than Lu Yin himself understood what had just happened.
He was cultivating the Nine Heavens Transformation within his consciousness.
At the moment, he had no idea how much his combat strength would increase by using the Nine Heavens Transformation. However, even if it was just a small boost, it was still an improvement. At his current level of power, increasing combat strength was far from easy.
He needed to either continue searching out sequence bases to absorb their sequence particles or devour conscients.
As for having a breakthrough and reaching a new cultivation realm, it was not yet time.
He still had no idea what kind of sequence particles he would cultivate.
Cultivators in the Spirit Nidus were unaware of something important: Lu Yin was currently only a Progenitor. He was not even a sequence powerhouse. While he possessed sequence particles and could even hold back the laws of the universe, Lu Yin was still only a Progenitor.
Even the High Seraph had forgotten about this.
Actually, even the people from the Tianyuan Megaverse had nearly forgotten about Lu Yin’s cultivation realm. They subconsciously regarded Lu Yin as one of the strongest in the megaverse, which caused them to overlook the fact that he was still just a Progenitor.
Lu Yin could still break through, and more than once at that.
