Chapter 3433: The Scenery Is Beautiful

A few days later, Cai Bi, the patriarch of the Cai family, summoned Cai Junhao.

“What happened with Cai Jun?” the older man asked while staring at Cai Junhao.

The younger man hid nothing as he explained the situation.

Cai Bi stared at the younger man for a long time before finally smiling. “Was it done cleanly?”

Cai Junhao was not at all surprised. If Cai Jun’s parents were still alive, the Cai family would have never dared to take such action, but both had fallen in battle, and Cai Jun had been stranded in the Aevum Inch, so he no longer posed any threat. “Completely. No one will say a word.”

“Good. Make sure nothing about this is leaked. Warn Junyi to keep her mouth shut as well.”

“Of course, Father. Don’t worry.

“By the way, Father, I’ve heard that things outside have become rather chaotic. Has Seraph Yuan Qi really returned?”

Cai Bi nodded, and his tone grew serious. “Seraph Yuan Qi seems to have gone mad. After returning from the Tianyuan Megaverse, he has openly challenged the Ascendant Hall and declared that he will rewrite the rules of the Spirit Nidus. Many wonder if he obtained some opportunity in the Tianyuan Megaverse and has gained the confidence to challenge the High Seraph and replace him.

“Countless people have reached out to the Ascendant Hall, asking the High Seraph to strip Yuan Qi of his title as Seraph, but the High Seraph has remained silent.”

Cai Junhao was surprised. “He came back from the Tianyuan Megaverse?”

“Yes. Seraph Yuan Qi went to the Tianyuan Megaverse long ago to prepare things there. He’s now returned in a high-profile manner, and no one knows what his intentions are. On top of that, his group has altered course and are heading this way now.. Who knows where they’re headed?”

A thought suddenly flickered into Cai Junhao’s mind: Yuan Qi would have had to pass through the Aevum Inch to return from the Tianyuan Megaverse. Could the Seraph have rescued Cai Jun and be on his way to the Cai family?

Impossible. Cai Junao chuckled, dismissing his own thoughts. Who in the world of cultivators would be so kind-hearted? Even if Yuan Qi had saved Cai Jun, why would a Seraph help such a person? Besides, given the timeline, Cai Jun should have already died.

Many domains lay in Boundless’s path. The Cai Domain was just one of them.

“The matter regarding Seraph Yuan Qi is beyond us. No one else in their path has tried to intervene, and neither will we. We will simply continue observing,” Cai Bi stated. After a moment’s thought, he added, “Do you have any connections in the Lushan Domain?”

Cai Junhao grew puzzled. “The Lushan Domain? Do you mean the Yuan family?”

Cai Bi’s expression turned contemplative. “There are certain things that simply cannot be ignored. Even if we can’t interfere, we still need to be prepared.”

Cai Junhao shook his head. “The Yuan family has developed well throughout the years, but they also have many enemies who are waiting for Seraph Yuan Qi’s seat to disappear. Because of that, not many have made connections with that family. However, during the final competition to win a place in the invasion force to the Tianyuan Megaverse, I fought against Yuan Mie, and we even traveled to Beacon City together.”

“Alright, you may leave,” Cai Bi said. He needed some time to consider the situation.

There had to be a reason for Yuan Qi’s actions. The structure of the entire Spirit Nidus might shift, and the Cai Domain needed to make some decisions.

When Cai Junhao reached the door, he hesitated, and glanced back at Cai Bi.

The patriarch looked up. “Is there something else?”

After further hesitation, Cai Junhao asked, “What are your plans for my aunt?”

Cai Bi frowned. “That’s none of your concern.”

Cai Junhao replied, “Father, Aunt Keqing is a sequence powerhouse. She’s even younger than you, and yet she has accomplished so much. She’s nearly equal to Ancestor Cai Sandao. If she remains in our fami-”

“I already said that it’s none of your concern. Now leave!” Cai Bi commanded sharply.

Cai Junhao did not dare disobey, and he left.

As Cai Bi watched his son leave, the patriarch’s eyes glinted. How could he not know his own son’s thoughts? Foolish brat.

The image of a graceful silhouette appeared in the man’s mind. It was that of his sister, Cai Keqing. She was a source of endless headaches for the Cai patriarch.

Cai Keqing was extraordinarily gifted. The Cai family produced prodigies every few generations. In the past, one of their ancestors had even managed to freeze a Seraph with Mutual Immobilization. Later on, Cai Sandao had risen to power, and Cai Keqing was the latest. If not for the limitations of the Law of Mutual Immobilization, both Cai Sandao and Cai Keqing would have reached far greater heights.

However, the Ascendant Hall would never allow that. The Cai family had been given a limit.

At the moment, what troubled Cai Bi the most was his sister’s marriage prospects.

Cai Keqing was known as the fox enchantress of the Cai Domain. She possessed the allure of a fox while also having a certain seductive grace. However, she had a frigid personality, and that coldness filled her eyes with an icy indifference. Such contrasting qualities captivated all who saw her.

She was beautiful, charismatic, and highly talented, and it left the Cai family unable to make a decision.

The Cai family had always wanted to take advantage of Cai Keqing to gain the greatest benefits possible. Ideally, they would aim for one of the lofty Seraphs. Naturally, their first choice was the High Seraph, but he had never deigned to grant the Cai family any attention at all. They had therefore moved on to analyzing the Seven Seraphs.

They had stalled and stalled, and things had developed to such a point.

Now that Cai Keqing had become a sequence powerhouse, the Cai family was even more reluctant to let her go. If she stayed with the family, they would have the benefit of another powerhouse. If she married out of the family without them securing appropriate benefits, it would not be worth losing such an expert.

Cai Bi had been troubled by the matter for many years.

Let’s wait and see how things play out with Seraph Yuan Qi’s upheaval. Perhaps there’s a suitable candidate in the Yuan family.

Boundless passed through one domain after another. Each of the domains was home to powerful organizations, and yet no one dared to stop the battleship.

Even without Yuan Qi doing anything, the Pridebeast alone had torn Threeheaded Fiend apart, which had left a shocking impression on everyone.

However, everyone also knew that Boundless would not continue to have an easy time of things. At the very least, the Primal Beastland and Heavenspire would not allow the Seraph’s offenses to slide. He had broken multiple taboos, which was unforgivable. Those two places were merely waiting for the right opportunity.

One day, Boundless entered the Cai Domain.

Everyone thought that this was the same as before, as Boundless slowly sailed through the Cai Domain.

However, the battleship abruptly changed course, suddenly heading straight for the Cai family.

The countless eyes that were staring at Boundless shifted their focus. The Cai family? What connection could Seraph Yuan Qi have with the Cai family?

In the Cai family’s headquarters, Cai Bi shot to his feet and stared into the distance in shock. How could this happen? Why was Boundless aimed at his Cai family?

The Cai Domain was vast, as all thirty-six domains encompassed numerous parallel universes.

The Cai family lived at the center back of their domain. Past their home lay the entrance to another universe. That universe was what had allowed the Cai Domain to rise to power.

The Cai family not only ruled over the Cai Domain, but also the various parallel universes that made up the domain.

When Boundless arrived at the Cai family’s home, a massive shadow shrouded mountains and vast tracts of land. All of the family’s cultivators emerged, looking up in shock. However, they could only see was the bottom of the ship.

In the depths of the Cai family’s compound, Cai Sandao’s pupils shrank. The invaders from the Tianyuan Megaverse had no intention of letting him go. They had chased him all the way into the Cai Domain.

Elsewhere, Cai Fei awoke. He lifted his head to look at Boundless. He could sense a great number of terrifying auras and could not help but wonder what was happening.

In a courtyard that was blanketed with fallen white leaves, a pair of cold, alluring eyes opened. A gaze rose up to stare at Boundless, though they remained calm. It was as if the enormous ship did not even exist, despite the fact that the woman behind the eyes could also sense numerous terrifying auras.

Both Cai Junhao and Cai Junyi were also staring upwards.

Why had Seraph Yuan Qi arrived?

Cai Jun’s image briefly entered Cai Junhao’s mind, but he just shook his head. That’s impossible. Absolutely impossible.

Boundless silently hung over the Cai family.

Cai Jun stared down at the familiar estate, his fists clenching and his eyes bloodshot. The day had finally come.

After being thrown into the Aevum Inch, he had desperately raced towards the Spirit Nidus, continuing until he had been on the brink of despair. Every moment, his hatred for the Cai family had only grown. He had believed that he would die, but he had been saved. Finally, he had a chance for revenge.

Cai Jun had waited so long for this day, only for it to arrive so suddenly.

He had only ever dreamed of seeing such a day.

The Cai family, which Cai Jun had always viewed as a monstrous power, lay beneath his feet.

Lu Yin lounged nearby. The Cai family was merely his first target. There would be more. Let’s stir things up a bit in the Spirit Nidus.

Cai Bi rose up into the sky, stopping when he was in front of Boundless. After that, the patriarch was not sure of what he was supposed to do.

Bow? No, that won’t do. Yuan Qi had clearly turned against the Spirit Nidus and openly challenged the Ascendant Hall. The more respect Cai Bi showed, the more likely his Cai family would be targeted and punished by the Ascendant Hall.

However, if he was not respectful, it was quite possible that Yuan Qi might slap him dead.

Why had Boundless stopped at the Cai family? What was going on?

Neither Cai Sandao nor Cai Fei had come out, which left Cai Bi, a mere Spirit Ancestor, to face a Seraph. How was this anything more than suicide?

Countless eyes focused on Cai Bi as people watched both openly and from the shadows, a variety of expressions on their faces.

Although Cai Bi was his family’s patriarch, he had never been at the center of the entire Spirit Nidus’s attention.

He took a deep breath, doing his best to appear calm and composed. “May I ask what brings Seraph Yuan Qi to my Cai family? What might you have for us today?”

“There is no Seraph Yuan Qi here, only Big Boss Yuan Qi,” a voice rang out from Boundless. It echoed across the Cai Domain, shocking the people who had been following the ship, no matter if they were hidden or not.

No one had expected Yuan Qi to announce such a thing. He had effectively revoked his own title as Seraph.

A smile tugged at Lu Yin’s lips as he continued to lounge on Boundless.

It had been some time since Yuan Qi had openly challenged the Ascendant Hall, and yet the High Seraph still had not given a response. Lu Yin did not believe that no one had petitioned for Yuan Qi to be stripped of his title, but the High Seraph most likely feared that an empty Seraph’s seat would incite further chaos in the Spirit Nidus, and so the matter had been suppressed.

If you want to suppress things, I’ll just force them on my own.

Games were fun when countering an opponent’s moves, or when occasionally predicting their actions.

Yuan Qi’s announcement had essentially forced the High Seraph off of a cliff. If Yuan Qi had renounced his position as Seraph and the High Seraph still refused to react, what would others think? When combined with what had happened at the boundary, more and more people in the Spirit Nidus would become upset with the High Seraph.

This was a chess match between Lu Yin and the High Seraph, but Cai Bi was the one placed in a miserable position. He had no idea how to respond.

The matter of who was a Seraph was something that far surpassed the responsibilities of the Cai family’s patriarch. Cai Bi had never expected to be dragged into this matter, and yet he had somehow become the focal point of everything.

Yuan Qi stepped onto the bow of Boundless so that he could look down at Cai Bi.

When Cai Bi saw Yuan Qi reveal himself, the patriarch still did not know if he should bow or not. This was the man who had openly challenged the Ascendant Hall. If Cai Bi bowed, it would be quite inappropriate, but if he refused, Yuan Qi might simply kill him. Frozen in indecision, Cai Bi could only pray for Ancestor Cai Sandao to step forward.

“Are you the patriarch of the Cai family?” Yuan Qi asked slowly.

Cai Bi tried to remain calm, but his voice betrayed his respect and terror. “This one is Cai Bi. May I ask what you might need of me, Seraph Yu- Senior Yuan Qi?”

Yuan Qi waved his hand, and Cai Jun let out a deep breath. He suppressed his excitement and nervousness and then slowly stepped forward to stand beside Yuan Qi.

From Boundless, the Cai family’s home painted quite the beautiful scene.
