Star Gate-Chapter 1745: The World Origin (III)

“This isn’t looking too good,” chuckled Red Moon after looking at Skyward for a moment. “A large amount of strength from emptiness has been defeated. It looks like sage nephew Ming Tang cannot withstand the backlash of the world and is about to be overcome!”

The Light master’s expression shifted slightly—he, too, could see that the color of gray was rapidly vanishing from the mammoth world. Vitality was flourishing. The great silence had failed and his son was about to be punished by a ninth rank major world!

These guys are too bold! the Light master complained. If I’d known about their plans, I would’ve given my son a reminder or two.

However, he hadn’t considered this outcome to be a possibility and hadn’t thought that the Silver Moon king would seize Skyward for his son to silence. It was an absolutely ludicrous notion that he had no idea how to respond to!

Just what was the Silver Moon king thinking of??

This is a ninth rank major world at the end of the day. You’re going to let my son practice with it, just like that?

The Light master brooded at Skyward and wasn’t in a hurry to take action. It was not yet the final moment. Not to mention, he couldn’t brashly leap into action as two eighth ranks were nearby. He could only wait and watch the situation develop. Would the Sword Sovereign and others be able to suppress the world’s backlash?

Some ripples traveled through the void around them—it looked like some seventh rank masters of the world were also here. On the other hand, the masters of Blazing Sun and Dragon Region were not present. Perhaps they were on guard against a New Martial ambush.

“Are you two not afraid of Skycloud falling to the enemy with both of you being here?” snorted the Light master when his thoughts turned to New Martial.

“There’s no fear of that,” laughed the Skycloud master. “There’s no point in attacking Skycloud. Meanwhile... Light is invaluable to New Martial!”

“......” The Light master didn’t shy away from the topic as he had in the past. “Why would we be? New Martial needs allies as well. I’ve had a conversation with the Human King that went well. Would you like to know what we talked about, Skycloud?”

“Be careful of him turning on you,” snapped the Skycloud master with an ominous expression on his face. “That’s a fox that will never warm up to you!”

It was difficult to say whether the two had reached an agreement or not. It wasn’t out of the question, in any case. Void was here silencing Skyward, which meant he acted with New Martial’s tacit approval. Otherwise, the Sword Sovereign and Li Zhu wouldn’t let Void act as easily as he did!

The eighth ranks simply exchanged verbal barbs. They didn’t actually take action and continued to observe the situation. Might from an incredible number of exalted emperors within Skyward filled the world!

Boom!

Countless Silver Moon cultivators shuddered in their respective dao foundation sites. They hadn’t sensed anything like this when they first entered Skyward and felt that the marquis had exaggerated the situation. Where was all that talk of an incredible number of powerhouses from?

But now... they were supposedly silencing a world with no one present on it anymore. And yet, the might and auras that exploded out of it had nearly crushed some cultivators beneath the exalted emperor level.

Thankfully, a lot of Silver Moon exalted emperors were on hand. They quickly flared with their own energy to create some space from all of the pressure and balance out the dao foundation sites. That ensured the survival of the weaklings.

Liu Yin and others like him were in very poor condition. They’d made the most excellent choice of the eighth rank Demon Summit, thinking that there would be many opportunities here since it used to belong to an eighth rank.

That turned out to be true when the dao foundation sites flared to life. Everyone was immensely satisfied by the amount of new comprehension they gleaned from the site.

But now that the suppressed dao foundation sites struck against the invaders, the might of an eighth rank was beyond their imagination. The weaklings were nearly crushed from the onslaught!

Light Sword, Big Claw, and a few other exalted emperors were on duty at this location to defend against the auras, but they were unable to fully negate the effects. Thus, they were strongly inhibited as well. Light Sword sweated profusely, her face deathly pale beneath the buckets of sweat pouring from her forehead.

They were in grave trouble! How could they have elicited a reaction from all of the dao foundation sites in Skyward?? Who would’ve thought that the world origin would have these capabilities up its sleeves?

Void snarled nearby, expanding the power of emptiness once more. Shadows rose from the various dao foundation sites and came down on him, domineering and unstoppable!

Sword light flashed!

A black tome hovered next to Li Zhu. Fog Mountain screamed in challenge, bringing his five mountains down upon the land. The Orchid Forest master’s hell of sinister qi manifested as well!

They also sensed the numerous powerhouses waiting outside Skyward and were immensely worried by it. No one had anticipated this scene, that the world origin would have these abilities at its command.

Light and darkness suddenly converged, forming a massive domain. The light and dark envoy’s shadows merged together, creating a domain that trapped the Sword Sovereign’s sword!

A burst of might appeared at the other five locations, including the volcano that’d been destroyed. Five currents of energy created a kaleidoscopic domain that restrained Li Zhu’s book of darkness!

A domain of light and darkness, as well as one of the five elements!

The sight shocked everyone involved in silencing Skyward. More shadows appeared the next moment and combined with each other. The Orchid Forest master suddenly grunted, as did the Sword Sovereign’s expression shift. There seemed to be a fish of yin and yang in the sky!

Yin and yang!

“Does Skyward also have envoys of yin and yang?!” griped Void. He’d only known about the envoys of the five elements, light, and dark before this. Only now did he realize that there were ones of yin and yang!

They’d likely been seventh rank before as well; there were more seventh ranks at Skyward than previously anticipated. Thankfully, Fog Mountain retained freedom of movement.

...Void wanted to rue such thoughts as soon as he thought them. Currents of might rose from all directions and were accompanied by thunder and lightning. It was as if a chaos tribulation was forming a domain, one that pulverized Fog Mountain’s geographical features!

Fog Mountain grunted from the blow and muttered, “What...”

A chaos tribulation?? Skyward has this in its arsenal too?!

Although the shadows from these dao foundation sites were neither the primary bodies nor exalted emperors from Skyward’s peak, their combined domain managed to subdue multiple seventh ranks!

While they might not exist for long, this was still an enormously undesirable development. At the very least, Void was in a great deal of trouble. He might die from the backlash of the world. In fact, the power of emptiness was stretching toward the man...

It wanted to silence Void instead!

“Dao chess, help us!” roared the Sword Sovereign. They still had the dao chess to call upon, even though... the treasure might not be of any use.

It was just as solemn as the rest of the group. “I’m just an empty shell!” it intoned.

It’s that simple, I’m an empty shell. What would I need energy for?

Those were heavy words, ones that caused headaches in others when spoken aloud. So you’re an empty shell... why say those words so loudly?

The Sword Sovereign promptly dropped hope for the treasure and looked at Li Hao. Perhaps only time could help them regain control of the situation. Void would be done for if things continued to spiral out of control.

Li Hao, however, remained sitting in the depths of the dao universe and looked at the silent star of space. He looked down at the world, but didn’t intervene or return to it.

The group blinked with surprise when they registered his inactivity. Why was this?

Void cursed madly for a while, no longer the typical genteel demeanor in which he presented himself. “Leave me!” he forced out through grit teeth. “Get the four corners of the world under control!”

Why care about me? I’ll just walk the cycle of life and death if it comes down to it. This was my plan to begin with anyway. Li Hao’s not coming out, possibly because he’s waiting for something. Perhaps he’s waiting for me to be silenced so I can walk the path of life and death with a legitimate reason. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

But I don’t have enough dao energy yet! We haven’t seized sufficient dao crystals!

What if I just try it? Me walking the cycle was anticipated, but... we’re not ready, so how will that work? What is Li Hao doing, just sitting next to that silent star?

Around Coiling Dragon Well.

He Yong and the others were flooded by energy and felt on the verge of exploding. He Yong was immensely vexed. I’m on the verge of entering second rank, but I’m not happy at all!

This energy is endlessly spilling forth, which means that I might be able to break through to third rank after I become a second rank. I... won’t be able to force my way into fourth rank after that because my dao comprehension isn’t there yet.

I’ll pop from the pressure! Damn if we didn’t pick a good place!

He Yong wanted to cry, but had no tears to! He could see the vague shape of something that resembled a heart. It was massive and had shadows over it—the powerhouses that’d once left Skyward.

The world origin had chosen to manifest all of these shadows. They were Skyward’s foundation! Countless enormously strong exalted emperors walked out of the dao foundation sites!

What shocked He Yong even more so was the ending amount of dao crystals around the heart. There were even mines of dao crystals circulating around it. They were the reason why the world origin could bestow strength to these shadows so swiftly.

If there were that many dao crystals... how long could the world origin be active for?

The Sword Sovereign had said it would only be a moment, but in He Yong’s disbelieving eyes, it would be far more than that. He could see dao crystals being consumed in great swathes, but having so many of them around meant that the world origin would be powered for a day and a night, wouldn’t it?

They would be beyond dead, in that case!

He Yong raised his head to look at the dao universe. What was Li Hao doing?? Everyone was being shoved into the ground, including the two dao masters. No one could move. Only the young man retained freedom of movement because he was inside the dao universe.

All of their hopes were on Li Hao, that he could resolve the issues. If it really came down to it, he could just reverse time!

Boom!

Endless dao strength burst within He Yong’s body as he set foot into second rank. He wasn’t the least bit happy, just resigned. I’m going to die from all this energy.

“Ole Zhou... absorb more...”

Deputy Zhou was equally wordless. His presence shifted as well as he entered second rank. He looked at He Yong, just as helpless as his compatriot.

I want to absorb more... but I’m just like you. Third rank is both our limit, so it’s just a race to see who pops first!
